Palin goes on offensive against Letterman on Today Show
Sarah Palin made strong points in an interview today on The Today Show, speaking with Matt Lauer about several sexist pot shots David Letterman made this week against her and her daughters. She was certainly on the offensive, saying:
Comments such as Letterman’s add to the low self-esteem of teens in daughter Bristol’s precarious situation – young, unmarried, pregnant. Comments such as Letterman’s add to the allure of adult male sexual predators preying on young girls, no matter whether he was speaking of her 18- or 14-year-old. Comments such as Letterman’s again demonstrate the political double standard of making families of conservatives, particularly women, the brunt of misogynist jokes.
Palin refused to back away from her spokesperson’s statement rejecting Letterman’s offer to appear on his show, as “it would be wise to keep Willow away from David Letterman,” Willow being Palin’s 14-year-old. She refused to accept that Letterman was taking jabs at 18-year-old Bristol, not Willow, as he has since stated.
Palin also gave a great laugh line in response to Letterman’s “slutty flight attendant” line: “My first thought was, hey, don’t disparage flight attendants! They work hard, we love ’em….”
This is an interesting development in the Palin saga.
The National Organization for Women made a strong statement against Letterman, as I posted yesterday. As moderator Chris cynically pointed out in a comment, NOW’s defense of Palin comes only after she is no longer a threat to their male presidential candidate. But still, there it is, sure to have a chilling effect on cheap shots taken against Palin and her family. NOW’s statement certainly stupifies the defense of Letterman by other liberals.
And Palin is on the offensive on this one. She was great on The Today Show, reminding all why she remains a political force to be reckoned with. She saw a wedge here and is capitalizing on it.
Michelle Malkin also made some good points on Fox & Friends:
[HT: Drudge]

Palin carries herself so well. I loved how she reminded Matt Lauer about Obama saying “Family is off limits.” Matt is hard to read. I kind of think he sides with Letterman. However, Matt has kids. I’m sure he would be angry if anyone ever said the same about his kids!
Palin for presdient !!!
that should’ve spelled: President…
Apple,
Barack and Michell used their kids in their campaign but they have every right to demand that they are off limits to the media.
Instead of Palin’s daughter, what if Letterman had said, “Michelle Obama’s daughter got knocked up”?
It’s not right. It’s demeaning to women. I’m surprised you don’t get it.
It’s no wonder the uber left keeps attacking her, she’s very articulate and impressive when speaking about things near and dear to her. They are scared to death of her, but they’re too stupid to realize that they are keeping her in the news, and that’s always good for her.
And it’s sad to see anyone trying to minimize the inappropriateness of Letterman’s comments, just like he minimized the dignity of the Palin family and young women in general. I really wonder what goes on in people’s minds sometimes, when they actually defend such nasty chauvinistic remarks.
We have enough hatred and disrespect in this country without being told by celebrities (and their toadies) that’s it’s okay to trash young women like that. Stand up for decency and respect, for once.
Michelle Malkin and Sarah Palin- two TRUE feminists…the world needs more of these kind of women.
“Oh she’s so just annoying to listen to”
————————————-
hmmm…somebody taking a stand in protecting their kids’ integrity against the culture of death is annoying??
Ed’s right…if it was Obama’s daughters or any liberal’s underage daughter that was the target..the entire MSM would be howling.
Talk about double-standards…
Heather,
From reading Newsbusters I’d say Matt is firmly a left winger. Just like the rest of the state run media sadly.
Anyway glad Today covered this. I think a big backlash is happening.
Also to the best of my knowledge this is the first time ever Sarah has complained about something said about her or her family. She was ridiculed endlessly during the campaign and yet proved she can take a joke.
She spoke out this time because it was against her daughter. In addition I don’t think calling someone “slutty” is appropriate either.
Good for her for saying what she is!
” I hope she runs for president…”

Be careful what you wish for…Pres Abortion’s popularity is declining due to all the stupid remarks and policies he and his cabal are stating…
Well Apple, we can agree on one thing, I also hope she runs for president. Then we will find out for sure why the left has been so nasty for so long to a woman who has done nothing to deserve being treated like a slut. Uber liberals have been on a “Plain feeding frenzy” for much too long now.
I take it you’re a male apple, I sure would hate to think that a female apple would take your anti-woman attitude.
Watching Obama as president is like watching the movie “Being There”.
I think she’s a female Apple.
Re: Jasper’s QuOTD,
“Dr. Tiller is as important a man to women’s liberation as any hero of any social revolution in history…. Let’s remember Dr. Tiller by raising more of our boys to grow up to be like him. ”
~ Ellen Snortland, writing on the legacy of Dr. George Tiller in her article entitled “Abortion Wars,” as quoted by Pasadena Weekly, June 11
* *
Snortland also says:
“One of the persistent patterns of clinic defense in the late 1980s and early ‘90s was how clearly the gender lines were drawn on the sides of the so-called “choice” issue. The anti-choice demonstrators were predominantly men with an occasional woman thrown in for their side’s version of diversity. And the clinic defenders, with rare exceptions, were almost all female.”
I don’t understand why the pro-aborts can’t figure this one out for themselves. “The clinic defenders were almost all female” – perhaps because it is in man’s nature to protect the helpless child, not destroy it. It is also in a man’s nature to protect a pregnant woman, not send her to an abortuary. It’s quite hypocritical for the pro-abort feminists to tell men they have no say about what happens to a woman’s body unless that man happens to be on their side of the issue.
What Snortland fails to mention is that many women are not on the side of “abortion choice”. She seems to be having too much fun with her girl friends to notice.
“You haven’t lived until you’ve had the fetid hot breath of a misogynist in your face while locking arms with other women to keep a family planning clinic protected.”
Letterman should be fired after this nonsense. Maybe the MSM TV news bosses will take notice and get rid of the rude and crude MSM anchors (who will be left unnamed) as well.
“Oh she’s so just annoying to listen to!”
You must have been one of the girls in high school who hated the popular girls “just because”. What’s annoying? Her enthusiasm? Her accent? Her beauty? Her beliefs?
Bringing her family on stage during an election is not “using her family”. If she had four UGLY kids, you wouldn’t be saying that at all.

Well, no surprise. Matt defended Letternotaman.
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/catherine-maggio/2009/06/12/today-show-defends-letterman-s-joke
Joanne @1:12,
I think Lauer’s best days are behind him. I used to like him. What he said to Palin was completely inappropriate.
Good for Sarah Palin!
And I’m glad she’s not buying Letterman’s claim that his jokes were about Bristol. What diff does it make? His attempt to deflect the bad press merely makes it worse. What, it’s okay to chow down an 18 year old unwed mom rather than a 14 year old juvenile.
Letterman: you are not a respectable honorable man.
Go Sarah!! Can’t wait to see what her future holds!!
“”Instead of Palin’s daughter, what if Letterman had said, “Michelle Obama’s daughter got knocked up”?””
What would Obama say if one of his daughters became pregnant? Well, he has already said it:
I’ve got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old,” he added.
“I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.”
good one Row1
And what was Sarah Palin’s answer to this question: it was answered by her family’s action: her daughter gave birth to a baby. A baby is NOT a punishment to the Palin family.
No wonder Letterman felt she was deserving of ridicule.
Apple,
Everybody knows Obama was referring to pregnancy/ abortion when he said he doesn’t want his kids “punished”…
Palin need not misquote Pres. abortion..we ALL heard what he said…
..maybe you just heard what you wanted to hear?
“Apple” what do you think “I don’t want them punished with a baby” means?
The inference is that if they did get pregnant abortion would be the back up birth control of “choice”.
no the emphasis in the quote is on aborting a baby should one get pregnant!
otherwise the “choice” of the word would be blessed rather than punished
it remains to be seen how the Obama grandchildren will feel someday when they are older and are comforted by the thought they may or may not be “punishments”
no Apple. I believe Obama chose the words he did because they represent his belief system. Babies conceived to his daughters when teens are considered a “punishment” by Obama. Why else would he call them that?
And yes, I believe women and men should be chaste before marriage since sexual intercourse is special due to its life-generating capacity.
And I believe that if a woman becomes pregnant she should not “punish” her unborn baby by killing it.
If that is “suffering a consequence” then so be it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNzmly28Bmg
Obama said “I don’t want them punished with a baby. I don’t want them punished with an STD at 16.”
Sounds to me like he just equated the gift of a human life with catching a disease. Hmm.
Here is the full quote, from here: http://colorado.mediamatters.org/items/200810140001
MARY SNOW (CNN correspondent): Welcome back to CNN’s edition of Ballot Bowl. This is a chance for you to hear directly from the candidates. I’m Mary Snow in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, where Senator Barack Obama is holding a town hall meeting right now, taking questions from the audience. Let’s go straight to Senator Barack Obama; he just was asked a question about how his administration, if he’s elected, would deal with the issue of HIV and AIDS and also sexually transmitted diseases with young girls. Here’s Senator Barack Obama.
OBAMA: — or we give them really expensive surgery and we don’t spend money on the front end keeping people healthy in the first place. So, when it comes to — when it comes specifically to HIV/AIDS, the most important prevention is education, which should include — which should include abstinence only — should include abstinence education and teaching that children — teaching children, you know, that sex is not something casual. But it should also include — it should also include other, you know, information about contraception because, look, I’ve got two daughters — 9 years old and 6 years old. I’m going to teach them first of all about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby. I don’t want them punished with an STD at the age of 16.
There’s the full quote. I don’t see how that makes it any better that he is calling a baby “punishment” equated to that of catching an STD. That is exactly what he did. Instead of considering children “punishments” that occur when birth control fails, perhaps the Great and Powerful Oz should have chosen his words more carefully.
Sarah Palin: What a class act!
A baby never is a punishment.
I was a teen mother. My baby wasn’t a punishment.
Oh and my mom was an unmarried teen when she became pregnant with me. I wasn’t a punishment.
There’s no doubting that fear in a young adolescent’s heart can make pregnancy feel like a punishment, but it’s not punishment.
I like your website, Bethany. :)
Thank you, Vannah! :)
Kel: I don’t see how anyone could interpret his remarks any other way.
apparently Apple thinks otherwise.
I just love how liberals say one thing and then insist that they actually agree with us! With Obama this is truly an art!
“Ed’s right…if it was Obama’s daughters or any liberal’s underage daughter that was the target..the entire MSM would be howling.
Talk about double-standards…”
It’s good to see you conservatives show some concern for the children of politicians. You took 20 years but, at least you are here…
“Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno.”
— Sen. John McCain, speaking to a Republican dinner, June 1998.
“Everyone knows the Clintons have a cat. Socks is the White House cat. But did you know there is a White House dog?” Limbaugh said on TV, before holding up a picture of Chelsea.
–Rush Limpbaugh talking in reference to 13-year old Chelsea Clinton.
Shall we talk about those double standards again?
“Comments such as Letterman’s again demonstrate the political double standard of making families of conservatives, particularly women, the brunt of misogynist jokes.”
Oh Come, now! I could write a book this year alone on what the conservative media has said about various members of liberals families.
Shall I post some here?
Hmmm… No complaint from you guys about this?
“On his radio show Thursday, G. Gordon Liddy said of Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, “Let’s hope that the key conferences aren’t when she’s menstruating or something, or just before she’s going to menstruate. That would really be bad. Lord knows what we would get then.”
Oh Come, now! I could write a book this year alone on what the conservative media has said about various members of liberals families.
Shall I post some here?

Funny how liberals are always saying it’s conservatives who “hate” yet it’s ok for Olbermoron to call Jill the “worst person in the world”, for abortionists to compare pro life people to the KKK, for Letternotaman to say what he did about Sarah, for liberal blogs to say hateful things about Michelle Malkin.
I could go on and on.
Hello Pot!
Nice to meet you, I’m kettle.
Imagine that..you hit us (like in my examples from above), and then we hit back. You don’t like it? Then don’t do it.
It’s called “The Golden Rule.”
I’m sorry our politics has come to this.
Why are you acting like such a jerk, Soonerman?
Would you like us all to apologize for the behavior of every conservative politician? Ok.
I am sorry they acted like you.
the point is Apple that babies are NEVER a punishment. Babies are always a blessing. Maybe a woman can’t necessarily recognize this at the time she first learns she is pregnant.
The “baby as punishment” view is so terribly negative. It is a culture of death view of babies.
“Why are you acting like such a jerk, Soonerman?
Would you like us all to apologize for the behavior of every conservative politician? Ok.
I am sorry they acted like you.”
lol…nice try. Actually, you should say, “I am sorry that you acted like them.”
Nice try though…once again. You self righteous NEOs forget your own created history. I’m sure when Rush said what he said about Hil and Chelsea, you were all in stitches. Not so fun when the joke’s on the people you like is it?
Golden Rule. Learn about it. Live it.
Sooner,
For the record, I didn’t find the jokes about Hil and Chelsea funny.
One of the women interviewed on Hannity’s show (Barbieri) said Palin’s daughter was fair game because she got “knocked up”. If Palin’s daughter had gotten an abortion Letterman wouldn’t have been making jokes because the pregnancy wouldn’t have been in the news. No wonder girls who get pregnant out of wedlock feel pressured to abort. One would think that a woman would have more empathy in that situation.
Jill Stanek for President! What would a Stanek admenstration look like? Just a thought! RJ
You’re welcome, Bethany. You’re a talented artist. :)
I can’t believe that in the internet, everyone is making this out to be Sarah Palin who is the one with the problem. She is not trying to do anything but stand up for herself and her daughter and women.
I’m not even a Sarah Palin fan and I am finding this ridiculously unfair. She has endured cruel jokes and unfair treatment only on the basis that she is a conservative and now she finally says that she isn’t going to take it and people treat her like a shrew.
How cold. She’s not bothering anyone. She only wants her daughters to feel more confident about themselves as young, capable women. That shouldn’t be a problem with anyone, conservative or liberal.
Nice try though…once again. You self righteous NEOs forget your own created history. I’m sure when Rush said what he said about Hil and Chelsea, you were all in stitches. Not so fun when the joke’s on the people you like is it?
Golden Rule. Learn about it. Live it.

Don’t believe everything you hear on the state run media Soonerman.
“Sounds good, right? Unfortunately, the liberals at NOW felt the need to rehash something from the early ’90s in order to bash Limbaugh and conservatives:
On that point, it’s important to note that when Chelsea Clinton was 13 years old she was the target of numerous insults based on her appearance. Rush Limbaugh even referred to her as the “White House dog.” NOW hopes that all the conservatives who are fired up about sexism in the media lately will join us in calling out sexism when it is directed at women who aren’t professed conservatives.
Isn’t that special? Couldn’t just chastise a fellow liberal without bringing up a conservative?
But that’s not the most disgraceful aspect, for Limbaugh never referred to Chelsea as the White House dog. Here’s how the Lying Liar website explained what really happened back then:
On his TV show in 1992, a few days after the Presidential election, Rush Limbaugh was reviewing In/Out lists (a popular fad at the time):
In today’s New York Daily News right here… it’s the obligatory in-out list. Every time there’s a massive change somewhere, people are in, people are out. I’m now out. It says about me on here, Rush Limbaugh, loud-mouthed conservative and Bush favorite. He’s out.
Rush commented that most of the other things on the days’ list were not funny, but that “one of them in particular” was. Rush quoted from the David Hinckley article
“In: A cute kid in the White House. Out: Cute dog in the White House.”
Could– could we see the cute kid? Let’s take a look at– see who is the cute kid in the White House.
A picture of the “cute dog” (Millie) appeared on the screen instead of the “cute kid” (Chelsea).
Rush immediately said
No, no, no. That’s not the kid.
Then a picture of Chelsea Clinton came on the screen and Rush said
That’s– that’s the kid.
Rush apologized several times and told a story about how he had learned early in his career the importance of not making fun of someone’s appearance. He then apologized again and said
I’m– I hope you will forgive me. I’m fatigued. I’m tired…
Before breaking to a commercial, Rush asked the audience what he could do to make amends for the incident and, in an odd, spontaneous joke, proceeded to spank himself. […]
Rush has always maintained the incident was an accident. On his show four days later, Rush offered an explanation to his audience. First, the show played, “Who’s sorry now” in the background and Limbaugh pointed to himself. Then he said:
Ladies and gentlemen, I’m sorry. Let me tell you very quickly what happened last Friday night. There was a new in list and new out list that was published in the newspaper. The writer said in, cute kid in the White House; out, cute dog in the White House. Could we show the cute dog in the White House who’s out, and they put up a picture of Chelsea Clinton back in the crew. And many of you people think that we did it on purpose to make a cheap comment on her appearance. And I’m terribly sorry. I don’t–look, that takes no talent whatsoever and I have a lot of talent. I don’t need to get laughs by commenting on people’s looks, especially a young child who’s done nothing wrong. I mean, she can’t control the way she looks. And we really–we do not–we do not do that on this kind of show. So put a picture up of her now and so we can square this.
They then showed the picture of Chelsea Clinton. She had a displeased look on her face, as if to show that she was not too happy with the mistake.
Rush continued:
All right. We’re sorry. We didn’t intend to hurt her feelings. We’ll be back with our final segment right after this. Don’t go away.”
Liberals pick and choose who they are going to target. Remember when Imus made those disgusting racist remarks? He apologized profusely but he was fired anyway.
And one difference between Imus and Letternotaman is that Imus blurted out his outrageous remarks without thinking first… whereas what was said on the Late Show was scripted well in advance…. I’m sure there were women on staff who saw it. Letternotaman does not make up his own jokes. What he said was planned well in advance.
Not to excuse either man. Both of them said very offensive things. But the way the two events have been handled have been completely different.
Has CBS offered a word of apology? Not that I know of.
Source of the above is Newsbusters.
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2009/06/12/now-bashes-limbaugh-while-putting-letterman-hall-shame
The problem with you NEOs Joanne is you are so self righteous. Somehow, you believe that Limpbaugh saying he’s sorry all the time while “giggling” and smiling constitutes and apology but, David Letterman saying he’s sorry while “giggling” and making a joke of it…is not.
Thanks for the post that proves my point.
Letterman is a comedian. Rush Limpbaugh is the leader of your party….lol
You cannot have it both ways. If your side is gonna dish it, expect it back ten fold.
“Sooner,
For the record, I didn’t find the jokes about Hil and Chelsea funny.”
Well, like I said earlier, it’s good to see consevative women take a stand on what happened to Chelsea and Hill….albeit 15 years later…but, at least you are here..
lol..by the way Joanne…that’s just one incident you showed.
Mine is another totally different incident.
Notice the quotes!!!!!
So, that’s twice that your leader bashed a 13 year old Chelsea Clinton on her looks.
Again….
“Everyone knows the Clintons have a cat. Socks is the White House cat. But did you know there is a White House dog?” Limbaugh said on TV, before holding up a picture of Chelsea.
–Rush Limpbaugh talking in reference to 13-year old Chelsea Clinton.
Golden Rule, Joanne….Golden Rule…
Why hasn’t Jano classified Littleman as a domestic terrorist yet?
Soonerman,
Does it have to be funny or do you have to be a ‘comedian’ in order to diss the president and/or his family and not suffer the arrows of feined indignation by the artificial flowers of political correctness?
How about this?
I read that the first lady is puttin in a garden at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
First time we’ve had ‘hoes’ around the White House since Bill Clinton was philanderer in chief.
(Now I was not referring to the presidents daughters, at least not the youngest one.)
If the dominant media culture focuses so much attention on Michelle’s buffed biseps and the president himself uses them in an inept attempt to garner a few laughs, then aren’t her bountiful ‘buns of stealth’ also fair game for attention?
If David Letterman had said it, would it be any more funny or any less boorish?
yor bro ken
ps: sooner what than what?

Not sure I follow you there Kenny boy…
However, if you are implying that would Letterman said is ok, then you are wrong. I am implying that your (consevatives in general) self righteous indignation is laughable given how Chelsea was treated by Limpbaugh and OTHERS in the 90s.
You reap what you sew….
Oh and on the Limpbaugh jokes:
4) God only demands to be worshipped once a week!
5) God asks for only 10 percent of your money!
…we can sure tell Rush goes to church….lol?
Why hasn’t Jano classified Littleman as a domestic terrorist yet?
Posted by: HisMan at June 12, 2009 10:45 PM
Because he’s a liberal.
Soonerman, you are a troll. Rush Limbaugh is a PRIVATE citizen who has not run for elective office, nor does he ever plan to. He is not the “leader” of the Republican party. Never has been, never will be.
Is Olbermoron your “leader”? Or maybe Chris “I get a thrill up my leg” Mattews? Or the editor of Newsweak who said about Barry “he is sort of God.” Are those your “leaders”?
Of course not, no more than Rush is for the GOP.
However the above mentioned people certainly are far left liberals who worship your great leader that you all believe is a messiah.
And I can tell you that nearly all the “hate” you liberals moan and groan about comes from the left, not from conservatives.
“state run media” janet? LMAO!!!! you just mean a media that represents the people and hsppens to agree with the govt .
Posted by: Apple at June 12, 2009 10:13 PM
If the media is doing their job they assess everything the government is doing impartially and fairly. There is nothing impartial about the state run media that “happpens to agree with the govt” since they “agree” 100% of the time.
When was the last time you saw anything on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN or MSNBC that was critical about Barry?
Think long and hard…… there is no time limit to answer this question.
I’m not talking about Hannity, Rush, Matthews, Olbermoron or Maddow particularly. Everyone knows they are either conservatives or liberals and they are commentators not journalists.
I’m talking, however, about the “news” anchors, as well as newspapers especially the NY Times, LA Times and others.
Go ahead and find an article that is critical of Barry.
“Why hasn’t Jano classified Littleman as a domestic terrorist yet?”
…Oh, I don’t know Hisman..maybe cause he hasn’t advocated the shooting of someone or the destruction of a group of people..
You certainly give mixed signals..
You’re all Jesus is this…Jesus is that but, then you seem to forget how to act like Jesus.
Maybe you need to make sure your WWJD bracelet is right side up?
By the way, Janent N’s report on reicht wing terrorism is turning out to be right on the money. So far she’s 2-0. I wonder who else has to die before your side decides to tune down the rhetoric to a more civil level?
BHO maybe? One things for sure. If something happens to BHO as a result of some member from your “Cult of Limpbaugh”, abortion will be the least of your worries.
Soonerman,
Is your real name Keith Olberman?
And I can tell you that nearly all the “hate” you liberals moan and groan about comes from the left, not from conservatives.
Yeap, Von Brunn was definitely a liberal…
There’s delusional, then there’s DELUSIONAL!
WoW! Joanne that takes the cake.
Cult leader Limpbaugh is your leader so deal with it. He directs how and what your party does and says. If they try to oppose him, they get put in their place. Even your “elected” leader, Steele was put in his place by the “defacto” leader Limpbaugh. I don’t know. I haven’t seen any liberals stumbling over themselves to apologize to Olberman.
Now, in your world of lollipops and gumdrops(conservatives all good, liberals all bad), I guess this is not true.
I’m sorry to break it to you Joanne but, you aren’t the angelic moral beings that you think you are. Olberman exist because of Rush and so on and so forth.
The Golden Rule…Learn it! Live it.
(On a side note: Do you realize the “messiah” thing is what we were saying about you guys when Bush came into office?)
In light of that, hello Pot, I’m Kettle.
No, Joanne, I’m not Keith Olberman.
I’m your neighbor and fellow american who happens to be liberal.
We can fight or we can agree to disagree on a lot of issues.
Either way, it’s your choice. However, this isn’t the 90s, we (“libruls”) are not going to be bruised and bashed w/o responding in kind.
I would much rather have a more civil discourse but, it seems political punditry won’t let me.
I apologize if you are offended!
tune down the rhetoric to a more civil level?
Posted by: Soonerman at June 12, 2009 11:50 PM
You seem to have “forgotten” the hate the liberals unleashed on Bush and Cheney when they were in office the entire 8 years.
Yes, I have selective memory. I only remember the hate you conservatives unleashed on the Clintons (including their 13 year old)
(Do you see where this get us, Joanne?)
(You have splinter, I have a plank.)
I’m not offended. However I do not nor will I ever understand liberals.
And for the last time Rush is a PRIVATE CITIZEN. He is not the “leader” of the GOP. Neither is Olbermoron your leader. They are political commentators, on opposite sides needless to say!
However it is worth noting that Rush’s ratings have never been higher, and conservative Mark Levin has had a book on the best seller list for weeks and weeks without any help from the state run media.
Fox has more viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined.
Shouldnt that tell you something? More and more people are turning away from state run media.
And another thing. Why did your great leader say that people “shouldnt listen to Limbaugh?”
What are liberals so afraid of? If you think Rush is such a buffoon and will lead the GOP to oblivion you should want him to keep talking.
Can you imagine Bush saying “dont listen to Olberman”?
Bottomline:
Lettermen = wrong on the Palin child
Rush = wrong on Chelsea (..well, a lot of things)
conservatives = wrong for not chastising Rush @ the time (Indeed, embracing him)
Liberals= wrong for not chastising DAve now. (Indeed, embracing him)
Fair enough?
Fair enough?
Posted by: soonerman at June 13, 2009 12:12 AM
Well for once we agree. LOL
Faux has more viewers.
Liberals have more bloggers.
As for me, I like to read the news with real quotes and such not be told about the news and “programmed” on a daily basis. Therefore, I read mediamatters, crooksandliars, and now, this site.
Has it dawned on you that we bait Rush? I mean he’s the poltical gift that keeps on giving. He’s so arrogant he doesn’t even realize it. We will bait him so more too. We just laugh and laugh when he gets on his high horse.
You’ll find that out in 2010.
We will see how much liberals are laughing in 2010, with the way Barry and the Dems are ruining the economy.
No one will be laughing. It’s not going to be pretty.
So far the government has taken over banks, the auto industy, tobacco, and soon health care.
Chavez and Castro are saying he’s more to the left than they are.
Soonrman, Liberalism is a mental disorder. You might want to see a doctor about it ASAP!
Soonerman, you have a pretty severe case of it.
Another thing Soonerman,
You have no problem blaming the shootings of Tiller and at the Holocaust museum on the right….. but you conveniently ignore the shooting of William Long. Could it be because it doesnt suit your political purposes?
I read somewhere that Olbermann had mentioned the Tiller shooting 61 times the week after it happened. The William Long shooting? ZERO.
Soonerman,
What is this ‘we’ business?
You got a mouse in your pocket?
Or is that just your pocket sized edition of the ‘good news’ according to Soonerman?

“Chavez and Castro are saying he’s more to the left than they are.”

Joanne,
That is ‘good news’ to liberals like Soonerman.

“The National Organization for Women made a strong statement against Letterman, as I posted yesterday. As moderator Chris cynically pointed out in a comment, NOW’s defense of Palin comes only after she is no longer a threat to their male presidential candidate. But still, there it is, sure to have a chilling effect on cheap shots taken against Palin and her family. NOW’s statement certainly stupifies the defense of Letterman by other liberals.”

Just because the National Organization of Some Liberal Lesbian Women stumbled or were dragged into the correct position one time does not mean they really agree with what they publish for public consumption.
I am sure this is a transient condition and they will revert to liberal feminista form in short order.
Letterman will not forget though. The next NOSLLW spokesweasel that has the misfortune to find herself in Letterman’s crosshairs will pay the price for the momentary lapse into social and political orthodoxy.
I would not give NOSLLW any credit.
I reminded of Abraham telling the king of Sodom what he could do with his ‘bling’:
“And the king of Sodom said to Abram, Give me the persons and keep the goods for yourself.
But Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lifted up my hand and sworn to the Lord, God Most High, the Possessor and Maker of heaven and earth, that I would not take a thread or a shoelace or anything that is yours, lest you should say, I have made Abram rich.”

Are you sure it isn’t someone else you should be addressing this comment to?
Palin kicked butt on the Lauer interview. She stayed on message, she didn’t let either Lauer or Letterman through him squirm away from what he had said and the effect that such comments have on society and on young girls.
Awesome job.
I see that New York State Assembly Minority leader Brian Kolb is calling on the CEO of CBS to fire Letterman. Wouldn’t that be something!
“Firing Mr. Letterman would send a clear message that CBS will not tolerate any of its employees — even an established media figure like Mr. Letterman — making demeaning and degrading comments about women.”
Actually, I did watch Fox this morning. David Letterman seems to be on the hot seat. I’m not expecting him to be terminated, but at least it wasn’t excused. It’s a start. David cracked, “I hear Sarah Palin wants to take me hunting with her.”……Rewind to Dick Cheney.
