Aborted Simba? Hakuna matata!
Pro-aborts have been mocking and forwarding (WARNING: explicit) the above graphic (origin unknown) for several weeks.
But the graphic is just another clever way to make the same salient point.
And ridiculing that point doesn’t make it go away, as much as the other side tries to say “hakuna matata” to the circle of life.

That pic is not any more ridiculous than someone seriously suggesting that “if Mary had been pro-choice, there would be no Christmas”.
I don’t think I had a chance to say Merry Christmas, Joan!! ;)
Joan,
Actually it’s not a completely ridiculous to say. Granted, I don’t see Mary as pro-abortion…however, back then she would’ve been stoned to death for being pregnant outside of marriage when it wasn’t Joseph’s kid. Joseph was going to divorce her quietly even because of the whole situation, but once again, God intervened. Joseph’s dedication, faith and obedience to God saved Mary (and the pre-born baby Jesus) a serious problem.
Joseph is a great example for fathers of faith in, obedience to, and dedication to God. He is, as we’d put it, a “real man”.
Stoning just would’ve been a different kind of an abortion because if they had stoned Mary to death, it would’ve ended the pregnancy.
“if Mary had been pro-choice, there would be no Christmas”
Which assumes that her choice would have been to abort. If her choice was to carry the child (How many people, believing they were carrying the child of God, would abort?) it wouldn’t matter her position on abortion.
Sadly, there are still places today where she would be stoned for her ‘indescretions’.
I don’t get how this is anything but pro-life
What’s so bad about abortion?
After all, if everyone were aborted then there would be no one to defend and push abortion, no one to hire a medical hit man/assassin to engage i slaughtering an unarmbed, tiny, innocent human being/beings, no one to engage in commiting medical rape on pregnant women, and no one to oppose abortion.
Hhhmmmmm …. Come to think of it …
A lot of the world’s great leaders were born in “at risk” situations, poverty, lack of education etc. You could easily ask, what if Abraham Lincoln had been aborted?
Joan, our church was wonderfully crowded this Christmas. I hope you visited one near you and soaked in some holiday cheer.
How many people, believing they were carrying the child of God, would abort?
How many people, believing humankind to be created in the image of God, abort?
After all, the choice to abort really doesn’t take into consideration what or who the child may or may not be. It does not take into account the child at all.
How many people, believing humankind to be created in the image of God, abort?
Kel, EXCELLENT point. I think most people who believe in God believe that we’re made in His image and likeness. Therefore, it would stand to reason we’d believe that of any conceived child. Unfortunately, some people think that only pertains to people who are out of their mother’s wombs rather than the ones that are still in their mothers’ wombs.
After all, the choice to abort really doesn’t take into consideration what or who the child may or may not be. It does not take into account the child at all.
Exactly! And since most of us don’t see angels when we conceive describing to us what our pre-born child will do and be, most of us DON’T know what the child yet-to-be-born will do/be/say.
It’s arrogant for us to assume we know better than God about what to do with our pre-born children. Unfortunately, anytime one sins and goes against God there’s a form of arrogance/selfishness (and sometimes ignorance) involved.
We, unfortunately, do NOT live in a perfect world, but I do know we are capable of finding more positive, life-GIVING ways of dealing with crisis pregnancies that are BETTER & BEST options that are NOT abortion.
You’ve made excellent points here, Kel! I applaud you!
@mother in texas, god kills more “babies” every day– during miscarriages, infant death during childbirth, and accidents and illnesses in infancy– than any woman ever could during her entire childbearing years. why is it okay for the god that you worship to constantly take infants from women and families who love them and *choose* to bring them into the world, but it’s not okay for women who (for whatever reason) choose not to continue an unplanned, unwanted pregnancy to have an abortion?
