- Indiana authorities have charged Bei Bei Shuai with murder and attempted feticide after she allegedly ate rat poison while pregnant:
Shuai consumed rat poison while 33 weeks pregnant, prosecutors said. On December 23, she was taken to a hospital where she admitted to taking rat poison in an attempt to kill herself after her boyfriend left her, according to a police statement.
Shuai’s baby girl, Angel Shuai, was born alive on December 31. On January 3, the baby died after being taken off life support. An autopsy determined that the cause of death was her mother’s ingestion of the poison, police said.
- A Planned Parenthood facility in OH will be closing. The clinic offers abortion referrals but doesn’t perform abortions:The letter specifically cites the current economic and political environment as presenting challenges the Mansfield Health Center Manager, Trish Malko, says necessitated the difficult decision to close the Galion center.
- A jury has found Marni Yang guilty of killing Rhoni Reuter and her unborn daughter. The story has received a fair amount of publicity in the Chicago area because the child was the child of ex-Chicago Bear Shaun Gayle.

So Bei Bei decides to kill the baby herself and they call her a murderer. But if she had an abortionist kill the baby for her, they say its her “right”…
Society can’t have it both ways. Its either murder or not.
If abortion is re-criminalized in the US, this and lots worse will happen if “past is prologue.” A friend of mine douched with liquid anti-acne medication and ended up in an emergency room. But if the above cited woman had succeeded, I suspect some anti-choicers would have said good enough for her – she’s being punished for her sin.

Outlawing abortion *may* result in cases like this, but it will also result in saved lives.
Besides, your argument is faulty – these kinds of things happen even when abortion IS legal. Legalizing abortion obviously hasn’t stopped women and men from going to dangerous extremes to commit abortion, even with “safe” abortion procedures available (no abortion is safe).
Besides, it’s a matter of principle that we want to outlaw abortion. How can we, as a society, condone the killing of our most innocent, helpless members? Just because people do stupid things does not mean that you should legalize it.
Well, people rape anyway and because it’s illegal, rapists use violence and secrecy. Why not just make it legal so it’s safer for the victim and rapist? That’s as ridiculous as the argument you make.

CC, do you have any evidence of anyone on this site ever saying such a thing? If so, please provide it.
On the other hand, I’ve never heard you say a single word of compassion for any woman suffering the after-effects of an abortion. You only bring the subject up when it’s a club you can use against pro-lifers. So spare me the rhetoric.
