Latinos regret voting for Obama because of the abortion issue
This is Obama. He supports this. I voted for him, we all did. We didn’t know he supported this. We were never told. He didn’t talk about this. We believed in him but now we know better. We all talk about it, my friends, my family, my neighbors….
~English translation of a conversation a group of Latinos had with California pro-life activist Randy Avila as he protested in front of a Los Angeles abortion mill with graphic photos of aborted babies, as quoted by Conservatives 4 Palin, April 4

Thanks Jill for bringing us these news updates, you are a mine of information.
honestly, I find it almost impossible to believe that these people didn’t know what Obama believed re abortion.
Where do these people live? In caves?
Being uninformed and voting is not an excuse. Ignorance is not an excuse.
Angel,
I think there were a lot of people who were so desperate for something new and some “change” that they had selective hearing. And if they didn’t watch Fox, how on earth would they know that Obama was lying about abortion? He certainly didn’t prance about saying “Oh I am totally in favor of killing babies outside the womb and leaving them to die!” His campaign did a great job at hiding who he is for those who weren’t hyper-vigilant about it (as I was).
I’m just happy that they are realizing it now.
LB, it seems to me that Jill posted video of people who thought Obama was a Republican.
I also believe voters wanted the rest of the world to see that America was finally over its “race” problem and could elect a black man/woman for prez.
Angel,
I agree, if you don’t bother to do research on the presidential candidates, you shouldn’t vote.
Randy Avila may or may not be aware that Latino actor, Eduardo Verastegui, attempted to notify Latinos of Obama’s record on abortion via a video called “Dura Realidad” (“Hard Truth”). YouTube dropped the video (too graphic?) so he issued a second version with the graphic parts removed. The version below is a good one because it’s in Spanish with English subtitles. There is an English version too.

Maybe it’s time to try to make this video go viral, and, while at it, to publicize Verastegui’s pro-life film, Bella.
Angel,
Yeah that is true. I agree that if you are uninformed you shouldn’t vote. But I’m still glad they are slowly coming to see the light.
And yes sorry I left that part out! Of course that was a huge issue, and it frustrated me to no end when I would tell people about some of his voting record and they would shrug it off and say, “Yeah well, no one’s perfect and he’s black!” !?!?!!? So who is racist here?
You just had to bring up Eduardo, Janet.
Hotness embodied.
Would that all pro-life men could look like that.
Angel, Obama and his supporters really tried to soft-pedal his position in 2008. I remember a group of his campaigners came to my house and I said I wouldn’t vote for him partly because of his extreme pro-abortion position. They said (seriously) that Obama was both “pro-life and pro-choice,” that he didn’t like abortion but thought that people should have a choice and wanted abortions to be safe, legal and rare. Uh, okay.
As proof of his extreme abortion advocacy, Obama recently appointed Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schulz as Democratic National Committee Chairperson. While I’m always glad to see women get ahead, she’s about as pro-abortion as they come:

In regards to the coming election, those of you of a certain age might remember a line from an old WHO song:
. . . And I get on my knees and pray
We don’t get fooled again!
ach I don’t think that people shouldn’t vote!
But I do believe that people have a duty to inform themselves re: the candidates.
AT the very least.
angel @ 11:37 am,
I have to disagree. I have no problem whatsoever with the uninformed staying far, far away from the voting booth. Look at the mess we’re in.

phillymiss,
Regarding the Obama campaigners who told you they considered Obama both “pro-life and pro-choice”, I hope you told them to get off the fence and pick ONE lest they fall down and get hurt. I hope they aren’t fooled again, but I fear they will be unless a drastic campaign to tell the truth is made. (Who on the Democrat side will take the lead? Anyone?)

carder,
I know. We can’t go too long without mentioning him (Eduardo). It’s just not right. I wish he’d hurry and get married to a lovely pro-life woman and have lots of babies. (I bet his mother is thinking the same.)
I appreciate the candor of folks admitting their mistake in voting for Obama, but there’s absolutely no excuse for not knowing he’s pro-abortion. How could anyone not know this or not make the most minimal of efforts to find out? Shame on Obama but shame on those who failed to learn about him before casting their vote.
Oh Eduardo, I could watch him all day :-) The fact that he’s pro-life makes him beyond sexy.
I do think that people shouldn’t vote if they can’t even name the people on the ballot. Personally I would like the parties to be removed from the ballot and only the names of the candidates listed. It is absurd that someone can go into a voting booth and pull a lever for “Republican” or “Democrat” and not even bother to learn anything at all about any of the candidates.
I’m not surprised at all that these people didn’t know that Obama is pro-abortion. After all, the media presented Obama as the “hope” and “change” you wanted – whatever that “hope” and “change” happened to be.
Janet — I had to hand it to the Obama people because they certainly were persistent! They came to my house three times. I wonder if they’ll be as enthusiastic next year.
” I wonder if they’ll be as enthusiastic next year.”
Depends who the Repub candidate is. If it’s Bachman or Palin, or Hucklebee or Trump, you can bet they’ll be enthusiastic.

Phillymiss,
That’s not a very efficient use of manpower. They missed my neighborhood, but my guess is that I wasn’t part of the targeted demographic.
