FRC’s ProLifeCon: January 23
Family Research Council is once again hosting ProLifeCon the morning of the March for Life in Washington, D.C., January 23, from 8:30 – 11:30a EST.
As always, FRC has arranged a great line-up of speakers, including Michael Clancy, who in 1999 took the photograph seen round the world of preborn Samuel Armas reaching out of his mother’s womb to grasp the finger of his doctor.
And guess what? Samuel (pictured right), now 11 years ago, will also speak at ProLifeCon, along with his mom!
Young pro-life leaders Lila Rose and Ryan Bomberger will also be speaking at ProLifeCon, as will our own Gerard Nadal.
Congressman Chris Smith, co-chair of the U.S. House Pro-Life Caucus, will provide inside details on pro-life activities in Congress at ProLifeCon.
Also on the docket will be country singer Collin Raye, pictured left, now spokesperson for the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network.
FRC’s Jeanne Monahan, another great speaker, will also take to the podium, and I will again emcee.
The plate is almost full, but a couple other speakers are in the works. Stay tuned.
This blog will host a live webcast for those who can’t make it to D.C.
Those who plan to attend need to register.
Jill Stanek is a nurse turned speaker, columnist and blogger, a national figure in the effort to protect both preborn and postborn innocent human life.

Must every pro-life conference be scheduled the same weekend in January? There are 11 other months in the year.
Cranky, I think it has to do with the anniversary of Roe v Wade. Locally our pro life dinner is in March, so not everyone does things in January.

I just wish I knew how Reality-a man-convinces himself so adamantly that the Gestating Human Rights Movement is made up entirely of “the patriarchy” for “the patriarchy” when he comes here day after day after day to a blog commented on chiefly by Pro-Life WOMEN. It’s really hilarious, the amount of denial obviously in play.
It would appear that you are a little confused about categories if you think “…convinces himself so adamantly…..is made up entirely of “the patriarchy” for “the patriarchy” xalisae.
Some anti-choicers are driven by a patriarchal mindset, some are driven by faith (of course some of this can also be patriarchal in values) and others for a myriad of other reasons – well so they claim.
My reference to patriarchy here, as what I wrote clearly displayed, was in regard to the ‘Family’ Research Council.
By the way, have you read all of santorum’s autobiographies?

The reason why so many conferences are run that weekend is because so very many pro-lifers are coming to DC anyway for the March. People have limited budgets, so it’s a great way to accomplish a great deal for not a great amount of money.
It also produces a certain synergy that energizes us all. Why don’t you come and surrender your crankiness?

Because I constantly see soooooo many pro-lifers here talking about how we women need to be kept pregnant, downtrodden, out of school, poor, and poppin’ out babies constantly because the patriarchy needs us to do so, and we’re inferior. I can’t turn around twice without seeing posts like that here, so of course you’re just picking up on what’s been written, and NOT assuming stupid crap because you think you’re a mind-reader. Patriarchy isn’t only displayed in the simplistic manner you describe.
Since organisations such as the family research council demonstrate their patriarchal position through their policies, statements, propaganda and campaigning, those who are a part of or agree with such organisations are obviously of that mindset.
There are some brands of faith which clearly espouse patriarchal systems and behaviors. Those who are members or applaud them are obviously of that mindset.
Then there are those who demonstrate it quite clearly by their own words.
So no mind-reading necessary.

I got to hang out a quite a bit with Mike Clancy, a few years ago when he spoke at the kick-off party for our 40 Days for Life vigil. He’s a heckuva guy, very humble and shy. The most improbably pro-life speaker whom you could ever meet. The story of how he happened to get that photo shot of tiny Samuel is fascinating — and the lengths that were taken to both ruin the shot and prevent its publication.
The controversy had nothing to do with abortion or pro-life. The problem was that they were performing surgery on this barely-viable child (21 weeks, if I recall correctly), and yet the child was clearly alert and responding. The anesthesia had worn off, and the child could feel pain! This was a difficult breach of medical ethics and practice, and the doctors quickly changed their minds about having a photographer present.
You’ll want to hear the story of Baby Samuel & the Suddenly Uninvited Photographer. It’s not trivial — Michael Clancy ended up testifying before Congress, along with Samuel’s mother.
Meanwhile, it is excited to learn that young Samuel is speaking! I’d love to hear the thoughts of the young boy who grew up with this picture.
i salute our pro life men because men like dr nadal and jasper tyler and hans ( sorry if ive left anyone out) are REAL men. a real man puts his arms around a woman when shes pregnant and says “honey i love you and that baby.” a coward wimp or weasel will run or beg you or FORCE you into an abortion.
pro choice women will tell a pro life man ” you will never be a woman so stay out of it.” BUT any pro abortion man is more than welcome to chant along ” her body her choice.” those are the exact men who really dont give a hoot about their children being killed. they also dont give a hoot if their wives or girlfriends are killed or maimed during that abortion. i have seriously seen men drive up to the abortion clinic with their stereos pumpin so loud the entire car is shaking. the girl hops out and goes into the abortion clinic and the dude speeds away. its like hes dropping her off at the hairdresser. c u when its over baby.

Once a fetus is aborted and disposed of it no longer exists. If it does, tell me where and how. You certainly wouldn’t have a birthday party for it or comment on its behavior or attributes.

Oh, I’m sure you enjoy all your childrens’ birthdays, even or especially the days you pay the doc to FORCE a dead child to be born (the day you’re born is your birthday, you don’t have to specify if you’re born alive or dead), reason being because it signifies killing that child rather than having to ever actually provide anything for them for the rest of their lives-including birthday presents-because you ended their lives prematurely.

heather, I don’t often respond to the comments you post because they tend to come across as ‘on the run’ ‘explosions’ of words and mainly consist of ‘I heard or read somewhere’, urban myths, half truths and fabrications. You didn’t mention whether it was wrong or immoral or should be illegal for the dead human beings being collected as biohazard waste, thrown into dumpsters headed for the landfill, or incinerated. See, I’m not that concerned where I fit into this puzzle. I’m a big girl. I can’t take care of myself. I’m more concerned about the human beings who can’t defend themselves who are killed by abortions and then disposed.

“If you have done it unto the LEAST OF THESE MY BRETHREN, you have done it unto me.” Jesus Christ our LORD created all of creation which includes man and woman and their offspring. “Children are a gift from God”, He tells us. They are not “its” but a precious Gift from our Savior. All life should be respected. He is a just God, therefore
all will be judged: those who believe in His Word will have eternal life…..those who do not will be sent to hell forf eternity. Those who have not had a chance to live long (the aborted), will see Jesus because He is merciful and just. Those in here who say babies are not persons and have no consequence, are not beling honest. Of course, they are ashamed of what they have done and the way they think, but try to hide it. Even so, they can be forgiven if they are willing to ask Jesus for forgiveness for what they have done.
Repent…..be sorry…….and show your repentence by following Him, His Word, and admitting that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father but through Him……our Lord and Savior. May His grace and mercy be with you all. Amen.
