Actress Vanessa Williams reveals she had an abortion in high school
Being pregnant is the most frightening thing that happens in your life….
I knew in high school that’s something that I was not prepared to do, or fight, or struggle with.
~ Singer and actress Vanessa Williams revealing her abortion experience during high school in her upcoming book, You Have No Idea, as quoted by New York Daily News, April 17

Speak for yourself Vanessa!! Being pregnant is NOT the most frightening thing that can happen.
I have helped three teenagers who found out they were pregnant in high school. They may have been frightened AT FIRST and then they received help, support and encouragement.
THEY fought. THEY struggled. THEY brought their babies into this world and put them up for adoption.
It’s so frightening she did it four more times!
That’s unfortunate. I just wonder why you weren’t that frightened to have unprotected sex? Oh wait, I remember what it’s like to be 17 and invincible. The you find out you’re not. I had the grand fortune of not getting pregnant til I wanted to, but I often wonder, would I have had the strength to be one of Carla’s girls she helped? My mother would most defintiely have put me out of the house, and she would still be reminding me of my mistake to this day. My dad would have drank more. Where would I have gone? I’m really not sure what was available for a suburban Atlanta teenager in 1984.
That’s why it’ so important to remember our compassion for girls in crisis. My best friend in high school ended up getting an abortion in college. She said she was just waiting for that one person to say”You don’t have to do this” or “I will stand by you and help you.” But the only people who made themselves known were the ones willing to drive her to the clinic. The rest was history.
The initial panic women feel when finding out they are pregnant is normal, even with wanted pregnancies-abortion thugs are only too happy to exploit this brief period, because they know it won’t last, which is why they push so hard to get women through the clinic doors before it passes and the natural bond between mother and baby can grow any further. The more misinformation and proabort propaganda they can pile on, the better, and the younger the mother, the easier it is. Planned Predators. If they can get a girl all nice and neatly indoctrinated before she becomes sexually active, so much the better for them. We all remember from ‘Blood Money’ the former members of NARAL and former abortionists admitting their goal was 2-3 abortions per girl. We’re not women to the abortion industry-we’re units to be exploited.
That child could have been having her grandchildren by now.
Once again, it’s all about ME.
She also had a nose job.

I wish I could hug you. The fear is compounded by all those around you who step away saying, “It’s your choice.” OR those that only offer abortion as “the best thing you could do.” It is a very lonely, frightening place to be.
Courtnay,
I was waiting too. If one person had said, “We will get through this together……”
The fear would have been temporary.
It’s so important to have compassion to those girls experiencing pregnancies, even – or especially – when the pregnancy occurs in less-than-ideal settings. That’s why working at a CPC can be so rewarding.
Absolutely, Carla! You hit the nail on the head, MPQ.
Oh, how I only wished someone was there to help me; a pregnancy care center; a sidewalk counselor or even get an adoption agency referral and take my hand and tell me, “I know you’re afraid….but it’s going to be okay….we’re here to help you.” Those words of love & support would have been a joy to hear, instead of hearing those cold-as-ice words from the dr. mengele-type explaining to me how he was killing my baby & saying it was no big deal. I was so scared & alone.
I wish I could hug you back, Carla, for the way they preyed on your fears and the fears of millions of others. I felt a little stupid even posting that comment, as you all are obviously well aware of how the abortion industry preys on women, just had a strong feeling someone would happen in here who might need to hear it. One of those weird hunches we all get sometimes. Or maybe I was just woolgathering. It just makes me angry every time I think about it, it’s so obvious to anyone without blinders on. Ignore my rambling :)
Carol,
That’s the best part of volunteering at a CPC, you get to do exactly that. I wish there were 1000 pregnancy center for every abortion mill. We’d wipe them out.
MPQ
I always appreciate when someone that has not had an abortion says it. That you “get it” so well gives me hope that others will understand.
Yes. I am well aware of it. Others? Not so much. :)
Many hugs to you as well Carol!!
Phillymiss: She also had a nose job.
:) :P :)
