Artist celebrates “4,000 years for choice”
You know how everyone is like “Jesus hates reproductive freedom?” Well, you know what predates Jesus by a couple thousand years?
You guessed it!
The above visual [click to enlarge] was created by Heather Ault, an artist and pro-choice activist with hopes of reframing the abortion debate not around politics, but around human history.
4,000 years’ worth, to be exact.
~ Abortioneers blogger Anti-Anti praising the work of pro-choice artist, Heather Ault, April 3

In looking through the posters, I saw that Heather Ault, the artist who created the posters, included one that a) mentions NFP, b) without being judgmental or dismissive.

Struck me as somewhat noteworthy.
You have to love them. They’ve abandoned the whole “we’re progressives progressing into the future from regressive dark ages” meme and are trying to appeal to the conservative streak in us. Unfortunately for them, murder has been around for 4000 years too. Ain’t no different!
Jesus hates reproductive freedom?? I’d love it if the people who referenced Him actually KNEW him.’
What Jesus hates is the killing of the innocent. Hippie? Help me out here.
Big bucket of duh.
Did she make that in MS Paint? It looks so…childish. Somebody introduce her to GIMP, stat!
I’m confused. Pro-choicers usually accuse pro-lifers of wanting to take society “back to the Dark Ages”, yet they see nothing wrong with wanting to, apparently, go back to the Bronze Age? HAHAHAHAHA!
The painting brings to mind: if Vishnu and Yoda had a child.
This is the same guy who believed that when the “menstrual flux is entirely retained” the physician “should let blood from the left arm in order to keep the right arm free for service.”
You know, so the women can still serve the men even after the male docs let blood out of their arms to cure them of PMS or that dreaded disease called pregnancy.
We’ve come a long way, baby.
Jesus came to redeem sinners. Obviously sinners existed prior to Christianity. Read the Old Testament if you question whether or not humans are sinful.
Here are my posters offered up in response. Help yourselves and please offer suggestions for more!

Who exactly says Jesus hates reproductive freedom? Who is “everyone”? There is no “reproductive freedom.” There is only freedom. Human freedom, the freedom to know and choose God and do what is right. Freedom from sin, freedom from death, freedom from falsehood. Persisting in evil is not freedom. Freedom is not the license to do whatever we want — it is the ability to do what’s right.
Once more, the definitive statement on abortion and the humanity of the child in the womb was the Incarnation. God the Son took on human flesh, not instantly as a grown man but as a blastocyst, a zygote, an embryo, a fetus. He inhabited every single second of our human experience so as to redeem it all. He declared the sanctity of human life from the moment of His conception in Mary’s womb. Case closed.
Awesome Christina! Keep up the BETTER artwork!
Hey, abortionistas, since you can just hop down to the local herbal outlet, you won’t mind if we close all your abortuaries? Great, thanks!!
Before the Christian era, women were treated as property. Sex was a commodity. Rape and prostitution were widespread. Infanticide and child-sacrifice were also common in most cultures.
Christianity brought a new and progressive thing — dignity and value to women and children.
Our neo-pagan culture really is a yearning to go back to the Dark Ages.
I don’t know about any of you, but i’m tired of pro choicers shoving religion down my throat.
I just have to say
YOU COMMENTERS ARE AWESOME!!
Just thinking the other day how I used to be the only post abortive mom here 4 1/2 years ago and I would ride the Doug Go Round…..now there are so many more strong, courageous, outspoken prolifers here and I want to say
THANK YOU!!!
The Doug-go-round!!! HAHAHAHA!
Carla, that made my day!
Hi Courtnay!!
Others here have more intestinal fortitude than I to take that ride.
Not gonna do it. :)
God bless Doug. But for me arguing with him is like the drive on I-16 from Macon to Savannah: it’s the same flat mile, 189 times. ;)
Leave it to pro-aborts to glorify somebody named “sore anus”, oops, I mean soranus.
I thought of that too Sydney but held back (:
Then I thought of the big word on the poster, “ass hurt”, oops, I mean assert.
“It not only prevents conception but also DESTROYS anything existing“.
Well…there you have it. The only “choice” they love is the “choice” to DESTROY LIFE.
This is what they love, this is what they embrace, this is what they choose…DEATH.
Their minds are as TWISTED as their “artwork”.
(My five year old just said”What is THAT?? It looks pretty scary!”)
These are people who’ll celebrate the ancient’s use of crocodile feces in the vagina to prevent birth — but contemporary pro-lifers are not credible.
Riiiiight…
Christina – great work. Who did the “electric” quote come from? I assume an abortionist? Pretty sick.
“Well, you know what predates Jesus by a couple thousand years?”
Pretty much every form of murder there is? I’d offer congratulations to pro-aborts for their lack of advancement in that regard, but that would just be snide and uncalled for.
I second the motion put forth by other posters here: they really owe it to themselves to pick a temporal direction and stick with it. Sadly, given the pro-abort requirement to avoid staying conversationally still long enough to face scrutiny, I’m not holding my breath.
But remember people, the Hippocratic oath is out of date and has no relevance to modern medicine.
Yeah, because the Word didn’t exist before He became human. These atheists and their “theology”…
Who exactly says Jesus hates reproductive freedom?
That’s a new one to me.
The plant she mentions in that ugly poster has been extinct for centuries, so it must have been quite popular.
Just because something has been around for thousands of years doesn’t make it desirable. Should slavery be justified because it’s been around for eons (and sadly, is still pretty popular).
This makes no sense. Does she think pro-lifers are unaware that abortion is, you know, old? People have always killed children of all ages, including the unborn. It is 2012…shouldn’t we have progressed to the point where we no longer kill our offspring?
“It not only prevents conception but also DESTROYS anything existing“
Yup.
Destroy, destroy, destroy.
Creepy.
Like infants are a disease.
“Well, you know what predates Jesus by a couple thousand years?”
Rape?
No wait, uh attempted genocide of the jews! no?
hmm public speaking! THAT’S IT! wait that doesn’t make any sense ether.
AH, RACISM predates Jesus it MUST be a good thing.
The “Doug-Go-Round”. No wonder his comments make me dizzy! :)
Oh Rasqual, that reminded me of the one the Egyptians came up with for contraception. Apparently drinking animal semen also “cured” pregnancy. I think its wonderful pro-aborts are returning to such ancient wisdom.
Drinking animal semen? Thanks for bringing up that very disturbing visual AT DINNERTIME!
Wait a minute Sydney! They’re already doing that – the scenes of two gals consuming a beverage not-purchased-at-Jamba-Juice was cut from a reality show recently.
I just want to point out that Soranus lived in the first to second century… as in 1,800 years ago, or for those who don’t know the origin of ACE and BCE, 200 years *after* Jesus.
Good research, abortioneers!
I’ve become convinced the abortioneers is actually intended as a parody of the prochoice position. There’s no way they can be serious with nonsense like this.
Tsk, Alice, I use MS Paint and I LOVE it. Do not get me started on a “Why I hate it when people are hatin’ on the MS Paint” rant cause I could go on forever :P I couldn’t care less if the artist made that thing in Photoshop tho >__>
Hmm. Things that predate Jesus…
Biblically, the first murder was one of Adam and Eve’s kids killing the other one of their kids, that predates Jesus by so much! And then God said, “Where is Abel, your brother?” Cain said, “I don’t know, am I my brother’s keeper?”
And so now I wonder.
Cain did not think to be “his brother’s keeper”, Abel angered him and so Cain killed him. What I want to know, with abortion…are these parents their children’s keepers, or do they have every right to slay them just because they’re inconvenient/annoying/whatever? :O
Avoiding responsibility for and to your fellow men and women, that predates Jesus by a lot too!
I’ll post my reply to Christina’s counter-posters here, as well:
What I like about your posters is this: whereas the 4000years project is putatively adducing the wisdom of the ancients, your own work showcases the inhumanity of our current age. If the ancient wisdom of choice is reputed to be so wonderful, what are we to make of enlightenment moderns who put it to such brutal use, and so indifferently to life?
The very progressives whose artwork so often celebrates life with illustrations of people in harmonic connections with each other, are the very ones who see the most intimate social relationship — not sex, but childbearing — as an appropriate setting for dismemberment and death.
The holocaust is not strictly the numbers. The horror of this, and any other, holocaust, is what happens to a human heart and mind that permits the savagery to go beyond the mind into actions, and to perdure and spread.
I made a reply to the Abortioneers photo, if anybody’s interested. It’s not as awesome as Christina’s, but it’s out there for anybody interested:

Sorry that Facebook kills my picture quality! :(
Eric, great job!
The Gimp is awesome. Photoshop for free, basically.
They just want to have their cake and eat it, too.
Me: “Abortion isn’t natural.”
Them: “Sure it is! Rabbits reabsorb their kits when they’re pregnant if circumstances aren’t right!”
Me: “Sure, and mother scorpions will grab one of her offspring off of her back and eat it if she becomes hungry. However, we are human beings, and that sort of behavior isn’t appropriate FOR US. You all are welcome to consider yourselves on-par developmentally with rabbits and scorpions. I, however, am a high-functioning primate, and we don’t behave in such a brutal manner towards our children.”
Just gotta switch it on ’em, Flip Mode.
I know what you mean X. This type of thinking spreads to the rest of their arguments. Its either a normal medical procedure or a difficult decision. Its either a private matter the government has no interest in or a right that must be paid for by the taxpayers. Whichever interpretation suits their agenda.
Eric, your picture was great. It put the truth bluntly, which I love.
Courtnay: God bless Doug.
Thanks, Courtnay. (I think.) :P
But for me arguing with him is like the drive on I-16 from Macon to Savannah: it’s the same flat mile, 189 times.
I’ve been down I-75 quite a few times, around Macon. Not everybody makes the same unprovable assumptions that you do.
I am so glad they brought up the SILIPHUIM ISSUE!
LOL-look it up on Wikipedia-it’s the plant that bankrupt the greeks-not only because it was the days prominent form of ‘birth control,’ or the abortifacent of ancient greece-but it was extinct by the end of the civilization, and as a matter of fact, used for a number of maladies it was considered, “worth it’s weight in gold.”
It was reproduced on the coinage of the day-the center stalk was ironically in the shape of a heart.
“Your heart is where your treasure is.”
SILIPHUIM is the reason the Roman Empire finally went bankrupt-they took out a large percentage of each generation, until it could no longer sustain itself and it’s citizens were scattered-then the Christians took over ’cause they didn’t do that (back then, now many are sadly), and therefore didn’t exterminate themselves-a lingering sector, a born-again civilization rising out of the old one.
It’s what this Obamanation is planning to do; healthcare us into extinction-since our American civilization-even, human civilization on global scale-since all economic systems are connected, will collapse without the 2.1 ratio growth.
That’s why forgiving your debtors is so important, as Christians, it is important for us to not hold grudges and sacrifice with a faith “animated by charity.” It’s hard sometimes–but SO crucial.
Speaking of the Hyppocratic Oath, what-ver happened to the section that read: DO NO HARM!?
I guess it’s not the Hyppocrite Oath-if your a “peace-loving,” “freedom-loving” liberal, that is.
lol, sorry-I meant to finish with:
“I guess it IS the Hyppocrite Oath-if your a “peace-loving,” “freedom-loving” liberal, that is.”
REAL hippies are not “liberals.” Liberals are liberals. Hippies are pro-life.
That whole forgiveness thing is difficult, but it’s the essence of it. FLIP IT into something good. O goodness what a trick Jesus pulled with the cross.
Oh, this is rich. By all means, let’s go back 2-4000 years…before electricity, indoor plumbing, penicillin, automobiles, the internet, telephones, refrigeration, etc., etc., etc.
I agree that Ault’s picture looks both childish and scary, freakish.
Excellent work, Christina and Eric, both – looking forward to more.

Bryan, I’m pretty sure the “electric” quote is from abortionist Warren Hern of Boulder, CO.
Is it just me? The “artwork” looks like a demon? Funny how people with a distorted view of what is Good in the world even see “beauty” in the grotesque.
