Obama to attend Planned Parenthood “Right to Shoes” gala under Gosnell trial’s shadow
UPDATE 4:41p: Obama is apparently headlining a Planned Parenthood Federation of America event on the same night in the same vicinity, but in Washington, D.C., not Baltimore – which dials down the irony by a notch but not the audacity.
9:30a:Were Planned Parenthood of Maryland thinking of a clever name for its annual gala in 2013 rather than 2005, I’m betting it would have backed away from “Right to Shoes.”
Or am I the only one who, when reading that, immediately thought of the 50+ jars of baby feet mass murdering abortionist Kermit Gosnell kept as trophies? Click to enlarge…
I think not. I think Planned Parenthood of Maryland event planners groaned when they realized months ago Gosnell’s trial would likely coincide with their posh party, knowing those darn severed baby feet, which, of course, will never wear shoes, would be entered as exhibits.
Now that the media has been shamed into covering Gosnell’s trial, PPMD has surely been fretting someone would come along and note the irony.
But the mainstream media is either blind to the connection, or too polite, particularly since the irony has been notched up a degree with the news our pro-infanticide president will be attending.
This will be the first year Obama, who isn’t willing to make a statement about the person who may go down in history as the United States’ most prolific serial killer, will be attending PPMD’s gala since he became president.
Coincidental? I think not. Obama is known for his audacity about abortion. In light of Gosnell, and in light of the mounting untoward publicity against Planned Parenthood, audacity is certainly called for.

One might ask why high-heeled shoes remain so popular among women when they cause so many problems for our feet. High-heeled shoes remind me of bras in that both constrict and have negative health effects.
No matter how horrific Obama’s childhood, it doesn’t excuse such audacious evil.
Obama…if I had a father he would look like Kermit Gosnell
Okay, I think pro lifers in that area need to have signs made of the Gosnell feet and demonstrate in front of the gala.
Safe? Nope.
Rare? Hardly.
Legal? Yes. That is all they really want.
Right to Shoes means what exactly?? I have a right to abort my child so I can wear shoes?
My shoes are more important than hers?
The whole Walk in My Shoes thingy??
freakingstupid
Obama must be owned by PP the audacity of no comment on Gosnell and then attending a fund raiser for PP
They know nobody’s trying to take away their shoes, right?
Those dear little feet.
:(
I quite agree with Susie Allen. A demonstration should be led in front of the gala with pictures of the baby’s feet who never had the chance, let alone the right, to wear shoes.
Excellent Susie!!!
Hooker shoes, not surprising thats the shoes she holding! Yes those are hooker shoes one time I seen actual hookers, guess what they wear 2 inch and higher. All those high heals you see women wearing on Foxnews look just like the ones hookers wear.
Pro-choicers insist that life is a mere privilege…and shoes are a right???

(Denise) They are high-heeled shoes. Do you agree with me that high-heeled shoes are much like bras since both are very constricting and probably have negative health consequences?
Can we work to decrease the wearing of both of these dangerous and uncomfortable items of apparel?
What the heck, Ruth? Plenty of non-hookers wear 2″+ heels too.
“Right to shoes”? I don’t get it. Does PP provide shoes to the poor?
“Can we work to decrease the wearing of both of these dangerous and uncomfortable items of apparel?”
I’ll tell you what, Denise. After we end abortion we can work on whatever other projects you deem important.
LOL @ Ruth. I wear heels all the time. And I’m a married, monogamous librarian, about as far from a hooker as you can get.
Maybe the one time you “seen” hookers they were wearing heels, but the time I unfortunately found myself in a (pretty nice) hotel lobby during an internet prostitution bust, the “hooker” I saw being led away was in flip-flops.
I think the sad irony is that Planned Parenthood treats something as awful as abortion as flippantly as they do fashion.
I’m a librarian too, and I love my flip flops. Just sayin.’ No heels for me, but I am married and monogamous. I’ve even taught my Sunday school class in flip flops. Hmmmmmmm……….
Check out this site: http://antisex.info/en/go.htm
I’m friends with founder Yuri Nesterenko. There would be few abortions if this caught on.
”There would be few abortions if this caught on.”
True, and I totally see this catching on. 9_9
@Courtnay. Sorry, based on your footwear you are obviously a hooker. :)
len I wrote 2 inch and higher which on most shows you can see hookers wearing mostly 2 inch and higher as well, not all high heels. And just because those 2 inch and higher heels have become mainstream doesn’t mean they still aren’t hooker heels plenty of women who don’t sell themselves dress like hookers.
O.o
Len, this would explain why I’m such a whiz that whole Library of Congress Call Girl thing!
LOL 306.74, baby!
Wait til I start seducin’ the guybrarians at ALA with my corduroy skirts, tights, turtlenecks and (gasp!) 3″ heels! Hey, they make my legs look fantastic, and the extra height doesn’t hurt.
High heels = prostitute footwear? Lol. I don’t get it, my ex-wife’s mom is about as conservative as you can get, been married to the same guy for like thirty years, and she wears those ridiculously high heels a lot. Guess she’s a prostitute too. :/
This is the one time I agree with the graphic photos, someone should protest that gathering with pictures of those poor babies’ severed feet.
And btw hookers are still people and I hate how people trash talk them. Trash talk the johns and pimps plz.
Len, I bet you look SMOKIN.’
Right to Shoes means what exactly?? I have a right to abort my child so I can wear shoes?
Honestly, yes, I think that’s it. My thought was a “right to shoes” is their way of saying “I’m not going to be barefoot and pregnant.”
Barry doesn’t want himself and his daughters punished with any shoe wearin’ grandbabies!
Instead of “let them eat cake,” the slogan will be “Let them wear flip-flops!!”
And btw hookers are still people and I hate how people trash talk them. Trash talk the johns and pimps plz.
Thanks, Jack.
So true, Jack.
This has nothing to do with shoes. It’s a pun. “Right to shoes” means right to choose. That’s the sick mind of those who are pro baby murder. They make light of infanticide.
“I’m not going to be barefoot and pregnant.”
Ooooh. That might be it. And a word play on right to choose, since the event is called “Celebrate Our Right to Shoes”. Any way you look at it, it’s dumb.

The operative words in your insightful question is ‘among women’
I don’t believe even a woman could answer your question.
You forgot ‘panty hose’.
High heeled shoes, bras and panty hose are not popular among men… except for the cross dressing, gender confused males and MASH’s corporal Klinger.
The only connection I can make between the obamster and Right to Shoes is the fact that he is a ‘well rounded heel’.

If that’s true, it’s even sicker. Wow. Abortion – just like choosing shoes. No biggie.
Jill, I could be wrong, but I don’t think Obama is going to this event. The Planned Parenthood gala he is attending is supposed to be in D.C.
Cranky, it appears you’re right. Am correcting.
Seeing that title I immediately think of the pile of shoes taken from the Nazi victims, now on display at the National Holocaust Museum in Washington DC.
Hi Jack 2:37PM
My mother lived in those things. Walked down the street to and from the bus stop and spent the entire day in them. She had high heels for every occasion. Even had golashes designed to cover high heels. Good grief. I love my skeechers!
Speaking of johns, my brother pulled one over while on patrol one day. He inquired as to who the young lady with him was and a very nervous john replied she was just a “friend”. Well the “friend” made a fast exit. My brother then took the john’s number and told him he was going to call his house later, and the john had better answer the phone or my brother would have a conversation with his wife. Poor slob must have been filling his pants the entire trip home and pouncing on the phone every time it rang. Of course my brother found the whole thing hilarious, and never did call the guy.
Is “Right to Shoes” maybe a play on “right to choose”? That’s about the only thing that would make any sense.
I felt sorry for the woman who didn’t have any shoes until I saw the baby who didn’t have any feet.
Hi Ken,
As a man, you can have NO appreciation of panty hose and what a salvation they were/are for women. I remember the pre pantyhose days. Those awful garter belts.
My obese 6th grade teacher needed garters to keep her hose up. Her dress would get caught in them while she wrote on the board and send us into fits of laughter, which we would discreetly try to muffle.
Obama continues to sink, no dive, to new lows for someone holding the office of the Presidency. Attending this fundraiser for killers on the heels of the Gosnell trial defense starting, as well as the tragic terrorist attacks in Boston and tragic accident (if that’s what it was) in Texas, is way beyond tacky, it is classless, heartless and gutless.
No doubt Obama is or will be happy to know that three of the murder charges against Kermit Gosnell have already been dismissed by the judge:
http://www.lifenews.com/2013/04/23/kermit-gosnell-judge-drops-three-abortion-infanticide-charges/
No doubt Obama will enjoy a celebration with his PP friends.
Meanwhile, I’m angry and hurt, but not surprised.
The bottom line is that Gosnell is an abortionist and the abortion industry is a very well protected industry.
Thanks in large part to Barack Obama.
Hi Victor,
Someone should ask the Dear Leader if he had another child, would he/she look like one of those dead babies? Would another daughter of his look like Tonya Reaves, who died after being aborted at a PP facility?
IMO, the fact he would make a comment about how a dead teenager would look like his son if he had one is a display of his colossol narcissism.
Hi Ken 3:34 PM
Brilliant!!
Hmm, at first glance, by the name of the gala, one might think it’s an event to fundraise for shoes for the poor or homeless. But that is not the case, I looked at their Facebook event page: http://facebook.com/events/587563241262471/
& the event is primarily a fundraising event for Planned Parenthood of Maryland, rather the title “Our right to shoes” is a clever play on the term “our right to choose” with ” a Signature Cocktail served from a shoe-shaped ice luge” as one of the main features in addition to their silent auction. But I wonder where the funding is coming from to host such a lavish event if they’re in such financial need (as they imply) for everyday operations (no pun intended) of their centers. Also I found the following in the description of the event to be rather inaccurate & a nice piece of propaganda:
“35,000 Marylanders turn to Planned Parenthood every year for essential healthcare and education they can’t get anywhere else.”
That is considering the number of hospitals & private physicians who offer services on a sliding fee scale in addition to the thousands of federally funded community health clinics also offering these services…
I can definitely see it being a play on ‘right to choose’ but what struck me originally was right to shoes in the sense of right to professional attire, implying that babies and a career are incompatible, and that it is somehow more forward thinking to have the career. Maybe that’s just my insecurities playing out but when I see the image and hear the slogan that’s what strikes me.

(Denise) Women have always worked. Their work has been some of the most important and necessary work. Sadly, women’s work has tended to disappear from public consciousness. This happened long before “women’s lib.” A woman outside the PAID LABOR MARKET was said to be “not working.” This is unfair and misleading. Whether married or single, childless or mothers of large families, women have and still perform the tasks that keep home and private life going. They clean and tidy homes, they prepare meals, they do the laundry, they decorate the homes, and they bear and raise children. We must revive respect and emphasis on the work that is done to keep the home going.
In an ultimate sense, public life is lived for private life — and private life has historically been women’s sphere. Men (and women) work in the paid labor market for what they can take into the HOME — a home that should be well-decorated, clean, and neat. Women outside the paid labor market almost always work.
So……shoes going to crash this gala?
Somebody needs to attend and get the photos and videos. Please. :)
Sure, Carla. I’ll put on my 3 inch spike heels, grab my camera, and head right over. ;)

(Denise) He is not anti-sexual on religious grounds. Yuri is an atheist. He believes that humans should rise about animalistic passions. We should strive to be as rational as possible. He believes romantic love is an addiction to another person and sensuality works against rationality. He accepts that sex may be necessary to maintain population but notes that about 99% of sex acts would not take place if people only copulated when the purpose is pregnancy.
…”99% of sex acts would not take place if people only copulated when the purpose is pregnancy.”
99% of pregnancies would not occur if people only copulated when the purpose is sex.
I can’t speak for the kinder gentler gender, but I never had sex with the thought of making a baby.
A baby was the last thing on my mind.
But I gladly received the news of each new pregnancy and joyfully weclomed each and every new addtion to our family, all five of them. I mourned the loss of those who perished due to miscarriage. I still note their loss when I do the head count at the dinner table.
“As a man, you can have NO appreciation of panty hose and what a salvation they were/are for women. I remember the pre pantyhose days. Those awful garter belts.”
Mary,
I resemble that remark.
Garter belts and girdles. Ideas whose time will never come.
I have some cobb webbed covered recollection of garter belts as young child, but I can’t ever remember actually encountering them as an adult male.
I have never understood what attracts women to ‘hose’, ‘panty’ or otherwise.
I have always believed these items were the result of a conspiracy by french fashion designers who had received some diabolical revelation into the female psyche.
My 8 month old grandaughter is drawn to buttons, especially shiney ones, like a moth is attracted to light.
Hi Ken,
LOL. Garters and girdles weren’t invented by Madonna and I’m sure your memory is cobwebbed because you weren’t subjected to these female tortures. Then there was the “training bra”. What you were “training” for is anyone’s guess but I think its what you wore when you had nothing to put in a regular bra like everyone else was wearing, just so you could say you wear a bra.
My 120lb mother would wear her girdle to work in 90 degree heat and always refer to it as her harness. I have no idea why she wore one, I guess its because women were expected to wear them. She didn’t look any different either way.
Face it Ken, as a man you will have no concept as to why women wear hosiery. We think it makes our legs look better. I can’t imagine not wearing them when I have on a skirt or dress, which isn’t often.
@ kenthebirther: You’re lucky with the little lady. I have a close friend who has button phobia. Even at formal occasions, he wears turtlenecks because of his button phobia.

(Denise) It is possible to work on more than one thing at a time. Unlike many of you, I actually believe abortion will END someday and not just be criminalized. At a certain point in the future, pregnancy will ALWAYS be welcomed. No woman will get pregnant who doesn’t want to be pregnant and doesn’t look forward eagerly to giving birth. I don’t believe, as one poster stated, that “problem pregnancies are inevitable.”
Women will never place babies for adoption in massive numbers but neither will they get pregnant in massive numbers when they do not want to get pregnant. At some point in the future, every birth will be regarded by the woman who gives birth as a “blessed event.”
Denise,
I used the term career intentionally. As the mother to three (two born, 1 kicking me right now), who has both worked fulltime and been a fulltime stay at home parent, I understand the value of a mother in the home.
As a currently working fulltime mother who is pregnant, I resent the implication or the straight-out lie that it cannot be done. It isn’t the easiest thing, but working fulltime and raising children IS a reality for many women.
