Sebelius: Abortion between woman, doctor – and priest
I’m alarmed about restrictions being passed by various legislatures that take out of the control of women, and their partners, and their doctors, and their priests, their own decisions about their healthcare.
~ Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius asserting that abortion restrictions “interfere with a woman’s relationship with her priest,” via Gateway Pundit, June 25

ABORTION IS MURDER. Ultimately, the issue is between the woman and God. HE will condemn to Hell the woman who seeks to have her BABY murdered and the so-called doctor who does it.
Rosemary,
Let’s balance your statement. The issue is between God and the woman. But people go to hell because they do not trust Jesus Christ as their personal LORD and Savior. Jesus paid the price – they need to believe in His testimony and receive the free gift of salvation through His shed blood at the cross.
While abortion is a very serious sin, one sin (any sin) keeps a person out of heaven.
There is full forgiveness and healing for those women (and men) who participated in the plot to murder their children.
LL
Rosemary Lloyd, you do not know that. It’s comments like that, that really upset me. You have no idea what is in a woman’s heart. You do not know if she or the doctor repented. For all we know people like Obama, Pelosi & Richards will get into heaven. Yes, ultimately, it is between the woman & God. But, we don’t know the rest.
I rebuke your statement in Jesus’ name Rosemary.
As a post abortive mom who knows the healing and restoration of Jesus I find your comment ugly. YOU should be ashamed of yourself. It is comments like yours that is fodder for the other side. That we HATE women.
I will not take on your bitterness and hatred. It is yours. All yours.
There is hope and healing after abortion.

PS
I do agree with you on this.
Abortion is murder.
And I will be reunited with my precious daughter who died in my abortion. She waits for me in heaven.
God has promised.
I grieve with hope.
Dear Kathleen Sebelius,
I had no doctor.(Are you talking about the abortionist?? He didn’t even acknowledge me)
No spouse.
No boyfriend.
No partner.
No priest.
Thoughts?????
Thank you LL and M&M.
I am hugging you both right now.
Let’s see, Pelosi yesterday, Sebelius today. Is it fake Catholic week or something?
For what it is worth: Kathleen Sebelius, who was a Catholic in earlier days, has been formally excommunicated from the Church. She was counseled and warned, as canon law requires, but eventually her public support for abortion while governor of Kansas compelled her bishop to ask Mrs. Sebelius to refrain from receiving the Eucharist while in a state of obstinate disobedience.
Kathleen continued to proclaim that she was a Catholic, for a while, until the clamor for some action caused to the bishop to publicly disclose that he has already done what can be done, in terms of Church discipline.
My point is that excommunication from the Catholic Church does not deter the likes of Pelosi or Sebelius from saying foolish things that insult all people of faith and confuse the rest.
What troubles me: Pelosi was going off on an unscripted rant at a press conference, talking about Pelosi’s own messed-up spirituality. Sebelius, on the other hand, seems to be working from a script (perhaps even reading a teleprompter).
I wonder if the Obama Administration is preparing for August 1 with a media blitz of telling Catholics and the rest of America what Catholics believe and how we ought to live.
Why August 1st?
Del says: I wonder if the Obama Administration is preparing for August 1 with a media blitz of telling Catholics and the rest of America what Catholics believe and how we ought to live.
Scary thought. Or, maybe a “bring it” moment? Time will tell. Souls are in danger, so whatever Aug 1 brings, now is a time for prayer and fasting.
Aug 1 is when the one year reprieve ends and HHS mandate takes effect for the religious organizations that Obama Admin has deemed aren’t religious enough to be exempt.
August 1 is the deadline for the HHS Mandate. All Catholic businesses, hospitals, schools and clinics will be required to provide health insurance that covers contraception, sterilization, and some abortion-causing drugs — or face onerous fines that will guarantee bankruptcy.
Catholic institutions were given a delay of 12 months. That reprieve ends on August 1.
Court challenges are pending. We shall see. We believe that our case for religious exemption is very strong — but Obama does not want any private, religious schools or charities out there, competing with the largesse that only Big Government should provide.
I agree with you, Lrning. BRING IT! Don’t pay for the contraception, and don’t pay the fines. Let Obama send his jackboots to haul out the patients and lock the hospital doors in chains!
Unfortunately, there are a great many hospitals and universities who are not particularly proud of their Catholic heritage, and have no desire to fight for it. Obama knows that he doesn’t have to send the jackboots — all he has to do is stop the flow of grants and contracts and funding. Catholic universities and hospitals rely on taxpayer funding just as much as Planned Parenthood does. Obama has found a way to defund us…. or force us to compromise ourselves so much that we lose what little credibility we had.
So we are looking at a dire case where the Supreme Court must uphold our freedom of religion — or else there is no freedom left.
I thought the proabort mantra is MY BODY, MY CHOICE!
Why are all these other folks now allowed in lady parts?
A Catholic priest’s job is to counsel the person in question as per Catholic doctrine. I can’t see abortion restrictions interfering with that given that we Catholics believe abortion is wrong. So in that regard, what’s Sebelius worried about?
Rosemary, while you’re right abortion is wrong, you can’t say who is going to hell and who is going to Heaven because only God can do that. For all you know the woman (such as in Carla and other repentant post-abortive women’s cases) came to to realization that abortion is wrong, repentant, said she was sorry, and approached God for His Divine Mercy. Although you’re not wrong that actions can condemn a person’s soul, you don’t know what repentance/Forgiveness & Divine Mercy a soul might experience before their death, or what their experience before God will be. Got to be careful how you word those statements, it can come across as if you’re judging a person’s soul rather than the action itself (example: ”such and such action means you’re going to hell.” <<<<condemning soul, taking God’s place as judge. ”If a person does not repentant and ask forgiveness, such and such action can condemn his/her soul.” <<<recognizing an action has grave consequences, however leaving room for the possibility of repentance and God’s grace).
You know abortion must be the ONLY medical decision that Sebelius and gang want us to make free of government interference.
Yep, Shark Week has been replaced by Fake Catholics Week. Brought to you by the Discovery Channel. Actually, sharks are less dangerous that fakes like Sebelius and Pelosi; sharks get full at some point and swim away.
darn editing feature: lol, it’s ‘sharks are less dangerous than..’ ;>)
Ok, maybe I go back to ape humor? No? Ok. But what happened in Texas overnight was like something out of a Planet of the Apes movie.
Spoke with my Bishop this past Sunday. As a Catholic I advised him to close the hospitals if the mandate continues. Should apply to all Catholic schools and charities. Love money and give scandal or Love God and give a good example even onto martyrdom. Persecution and death panels are around the corner!
My thought is obeying the mandate is the same as staying with an abusive spouse because he is such a ‘good’ provider. Not a good idea!
‘Cruella Sebelius‘ has served as the poster Girl for late term abortion for decades. She herself might be pleased at her successor, one TX (D) state senator, Wendy Davis, who filibustered the latest bill to limit abortion to unborn babies less than 20 weeks old.
Please Pray for Church Leaders to appropriately address the Sebeliuses, Bidens and Pelosis in our government, so that America’s top down degradation might cease.
Patty says:

I pray to God this ^ does NOT happen. Far, far better for us Catholics and others of good will to defy the ACA law/HHS mandate, run our hospitals, schools, and charities WITHOUT any government funds at all, just on pure charity. We might not be able to help as many people at first…but the faithful must continue to do what we have been commanded and be willing to pay the price.
I agree Patty. It will be sad to see Catholic facilities having to cut back their services. But they were started without government support and they should continue without it. Government financial support is destroying the soul of the Catholic Church in America. For decades our bishops have remained silent (except for some perfunctory utterances) in the face of rabid Democrat party promotion of abortion and associated evils. Their silence has been bought by the democrats because they want the financial support the party offers them for their hospitals and other facilities.
It is a major scandal, and it is ironic that now the same democrats who lavished money on the Church are exacting the inevitable price – control of the Church. The scandal is amplified by the fact that there are still many bishops who would rather continue to see the democrats aggressively promote abortion and are even willing to cover contraception and abortifacients in insurance policies than lose the precious financial support.
I don’t think the bishops will have the temerity to buck the dems and do as you say. But let’s assume they get a shot of courage and do so. It will be rough! For one thing many Catholic facilities will tell them to take a hike, and will comply with the HHS mandate, thereby severing their ties with the Church. There may be many other undesirable (and unforeseen) consequences and it will probably be humiliating. But it is the price we have to pay if the Church is to remain faithful to the mission Christ entrusted to it.
I have to agree. What on earth has womens’ healthcare got to do with any priest!
“Is it fake Catholic week or something?” – you think it is only this week that has contained fake catholics??
She’s way overmedicated.
ninek, ty! I really needed a laugh. Sharks are way less cold than the fake Catholics. Sharks prey to eat. Fake Catholics pray so they can prey. Ewww! so evil! I like Sharks better!
wow … this is indeed GREAT NEWS … Its not every day we get to dump much of our restraints = ORTHODOX ‘MEDICAL? PRACTICES in our hospitals! Please do not fret … and believe that I am nutso. Keeping hospitals and medical science out of government/insurance-payola is probably the best possible future for a system built on comfort and appeasement. [[BOTH OF THESE ARE NON-SCIENTIFIC. there is ‘proof’ from Watson (of Crik and Watson fame) vs (White lab coats do not make good doctors.)
Time to throw-out much of ‘orthodox’ medicine with its silly reliance on ‘drugs’. There are literally hundreds of much better paths yet to explore.
**HUGS** to Carla, my sister in Christ. LL :D
I think secular Pro-Life atheists are in better standing than Sebelius, so-called Catholic.
