Planned Parenthood tries to make lemonade from Texas-sized lemon
2. We cheered on Wendy Davis as she led a one-woman filibuster against Rick Perry’s dangerous abortion law:
She took a stand for all Texas women, and it was amazing. But what was even more inspiring? The thousands who stood with her, in Texas and across the country:
~ Planned Parenthood’s attempt to make lemonade from a Texas-sized lemon, #2 of “5 reasons women’s health supporters had a great 2013,” Buzz Feed, December 23
The feces and pads that were confiscated and disgusting signs you held?
Totally inspiring. pphhhhhhhhhtttttttt

“Women’s health”, eh? These euphemisms are getting so old.

She took a stand for ALL Texas women? Certainly not the pro-life ones. Or the unborn ones.

So pregnancy is an illness that women can catch. How is it ‘spread’?

She doesn’t speak for me. As a Texas Woman, let me just say, most of us don’t wear pink sneakers (at least not the women I’ve seen out in public or know personally). Also, if she’s talking about abortion being so important for a woman to have access to she definitely doesn’t represent me, my positions, thoughts, or beliefs.

I agree MIT. I get tired of these pro aborts acting like they speak for all of us. Even more annoying is that the media actually believes this.

Wendy has bloodstains on her pink sneakers, from standing atop the bodies of the unborn children while she advocates their murder.

I always make the point to say the same as others have said….women like Wendy do NOT speak for me! I tell all of the pro abortion women I know….I used to be pro choice but I am now pro life so dont get it twisted.

Some women actually act kinda funky when you as a woman say you are against abortion. Who cares. Im a leader not a follower.

Agree with previous comments, it’s ridiculous that abortion advocates claim they “stand for women.” I too have gotten comments that as a woman (and a racial, ethnic and religious minority) I shouldn’t or “can’t” be pro-life. People like Wendy certainly do not speak for women like me.

I love Wendy Davis! I hope she becomes governor someday! Texas will be blue eventually….because antichoice people will drive hispanics in Texas to the polls to vote prochoice. Wendy Davis is so inspiring!

Steven,
Do you hate Texans (and no, I’m not referring to the football team, I’m referring to residents of the Lone Star State, aka Texas) that you’d wish someone as pro-abortion as Wendy Davis on us?

“because antichoice people will drive hispanics in Texas to the polls to vote prochoice. Wendy Davis is so inspiring! ”
Are you trolling or just that simple minded? Hispanics don’t vote blue because of abortion (Hispanics tend to be heavily Catholic and lean pro-life). Hispanics vote blue because of other GOP policies like immigration and employment. The only thing Wendy Davis will do with the Hispanic vote is lose some of it. That is unless she stops with the radical stances, which seems to be the political direction she’s headed last I checked.

@DeludedLib I was just about to say the same thing. I think Steven’s comment was just some uninspired (and inaccurate) trolling. But regardless, that is a really strange statement for him to make regarding Hispanic voters.
Also another comment on the quote from pro-abortion propaganda: “dangerous” law…really? Because ensuring facilities are brought up to code and preventing highly risky late-term procedures is so “dangerous…”

Yeah I am pretty certain he’s trolling, because that would have to be a really spectacularly idiotic thing for someone to say realistically!

DLPL – thanks for making Stevie the laughing stock of this thread. I just can’t wait for his “comeback.” :)
And besides, if Stevie thinks that Texas will turn blue at the state level (at the Gov’s mansion where it counts), he must be withdrawing from lack of logic.

By the likes of everyones response to my Wendy Davis governor comment….you guys must be nervous. She has great potential to turn texas blue. Texas might be a republican stronghold but if democrats can persuade Hispanic voters to come out and vote, texas will turn blue. Hispanic voters may be “heavily Catholic and lean pro life” but they WILL vote for prochoice democratic candidates over Republican ones every time. If Republicans continue to lose at the ballot box….antichoice causes die with them.

Tejas Mommy, Wendy Davis is from your state. Texas residents voted for her. I don’t wish her on you…you wished her on yourselves by voting for her. Dopey dopey dopey

That’s completely different from claiming Hispanics vote blue BECAUSE of pro-abort views. The reality is that the majority of Democrat (voting or registered) Hispanics vote that way despite the pro-abortion views of politicians. A good way to lose a lot of them is to have extreme (even for American pro-choicers) abortion views, like allowing it past twenty weeks. I don’t care if Hispanics ever vote “red”, I hate the GOP, but I do care that they vote pro-life. Get some pro-life Dems in office and the pro-abort Dems will cry when they see how quickly the Hispanic base evaporates.

Extreme views…”like allowing abortion past 20 weeks”….yeah thats why the abortion ban in Albuquerque that banned abortion past 20 weeks FAILED because HISPANIC voters came to the polls! If you hate the GOP then I don’t see how antichoice views will have representation at the government. Democrats are prochoice by far. We will not be electing antichoice democrats at the national level ever. Hispanic voters aren’t going anywhere anytime soon mostly because republicans are bigots and racists.

Steven,
I didn’t vote for her or choose her to run. And she’s not in office, so don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched.
