Stanek weekend vid: Retiring vet met with a home makeover

by Hans Johnson Master Sgt. Jacinto Bernardo, an Iraq war veteran, asked his Marine buddy Jeremy Epperson to watch his modest home in Suison, California, while he was stationed in Japan. By the time he retired after 21 years of service, his friend had been doing more than house watching. Epperson raised $70,000 for a […]

Stanek weekend question: What if pro-choice activists were to invade church “buffer zones”?

http://rudepundit.blogspot.com/2014/06/you-wanna-keep-harassing-women-at.htmlBe sure to take the poll at the bottom of this post!

In response to the Supreme Court’s reversal of Massachusetts’ abortion clinic buffer zone law this week, pro-choice blogger Dan Savage at TheStranger.com suggested following the lead of West Hollywood homosexual activists, who supposedly got a church to stop invading their space by turning the tables.

Savage quoted an obscenity-laden post by Rude Pundit with like-minded thoughts:

Why are people of color so anxious to please the old hate groups?

Pro-choice singer activist finds common ground with pro-life counterparts

by Carder

pro-choice Michelle Shocked finds common ground with pro-life counterpartsLet me tell you a story.

I was vagabonding, just released from an arrest in Dallas in 1984, at the Republican National Convention. I was making my way out of that protest toward New York City, and I made a detour to Madison, Wisconsin.

On the campus there, I saw older women protesting something, and there was a circle of students around them. When I got closer I saw coat hangers on the ground. I recognized that these older women were protesting against abortion. So I went up to one of the older women and I asked her, “What is it about this issue that makes you so passionate that you could come out on the streets to protest? Protesting is supposed to be my job.”

Unanimous! Supreme Court strikes down MA buffer zone law

Jill Stanek prays outside Supreme Court before buffer zone abortion clinic decision; pro-lifeRead the background for this case here.

Today, in a unanimous ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down Massachusetts’ buffer zone law, which banned pro-life advocates from entering a 35-foot restricted-speech zone around the entrance of abortion clinics. Read the decision here. Details, from USA Today:

The decision united Chief Justice John Roberts and the court’s four liberals, who said the distance improperly removed demonstrators from public sidewalks and spaces. The other conservative justices would have issued a more sweeping verdict, striking down the ban on grounds that it targets abortion opponents’ specific point of view….

Although the court had upheld an 8-foot buffer zone in Colorado in 2000, the Massachusetts law passed in 2007 went 27 feet farther.

Online For Life was founded by businessmen on a voluntary basis – men who believe that abortion is not merely a “women’s issue” – to help pregnant women searching online to find sources for hope and help – not the dead end of an abortion clinic.

Brian Fisher, former CEO of Coral Ridge Ministries,  explained the intent of the organization:
