Sunday funnies 1-25-15
Good morning, and Happy Sunday!
I was disappointed that, to my knowledge, no conservative political cartoonist addressed the 20-week abortion ban scandal in the GOP-controlled House.
That aside, here were my top five favorite political cartoons this week. Be sure to vote for your fav in the poll at the bottom of this post.
On the topic of abortion on this 42nd anniversary of the Roe v Wade decision, here are two. The first is actually an illustration by Alexander Hunter of the Washington Times to accompany an op ed by Ken Blackwell, “Aborting black America”:
by Steve Breen of Townhall.com…
On a related topic – Pope Francis’ controversial remark – by Jeff Danziger at GoComics.com…
Steve Kelley at Townhall.com provides a nice segue…
And can’t let Deflategate go unmentioned, by Nate Beeler at Townhall.com…
I’m not even a football fan, but I’ve got to vote for #5. It’s the only one that actually made me laugh out loud.

Five is awesome.
Four – Interesting to see how right-wingers have turned closing loopholes and a middle class tax cut into a tax increase.
Quite frankly, Obama’s middle class proposals would probably save more babies than the GOP’s house plan.

Though the Pope’s choice of words were controversial to Catholics, he did NOT say we “should stop breeding like rabbits.” The media (left and right) completely got this wrong. I believe it was an attempt to confuse Catholics and embolden those who attack Church teachings. I am disappointed you used this cartoon.

“Pope Says Catholics Should Stop Breeding “like Rabbits””
Right. Being selective and slowing down are traits better suited to humans.
Leave the racing to rabbits and sprinters.

It’s not openly slandering the Vatican, though. That’s an improvement over past offerings on this blog.

I prefer breeding like a human.

It was hard for me to pick just one (I really, really liked #1), but I had to go with #2 because adoption is so rarely mentioned as a viable alternative — exponentially better than taking a baby’s life.
As a huge football fan, I loved #5! I haven’t followed the Colts, but I feel very badly for their team and fans.
