Woman makes earrings inspired by IUDs
What started off as a funny gift for her boss has turned into a side business for Natasha Miller of Clinton Hill.
She hopes her jeweled items “reduce any stigma and educate people” about the contraceptive.

Looks like a fish lure and hook to me. Know any ladies who are avid fisherpersons?
Pro-Lifers might wear a pin showing the actual size of the unborn’s feet at 10 weeks. In the same way Pro-IUDer’s might wear these earrings. In view of the approaching 500 lawsuits against the Mirena IUD with it’s many problems, I would ask the wearers which side they were on. In other words are they bragging that they have one or are they complaining about the problems with the device? Could be an education moment.

Mirena Lawsuits
“Complaints allege that Bayer:
Misrepresented the benefits of Mirena.
Failed to warn about dangerous side effects, including spontaneous migration of the device.
Understated the product’s complications as “uncommon.”
Engaged in deceptive marketing.
Breached implied and express warranty.
Concealed the harmful side effects of Mirena.
Failed to provide adequate warnings and instructions.
Produced and knowingly sold and distributed a defective product.
Designed a defective product.”
Prettier than tampons.
And they double as a weapon, with those hooks.
Win, win.
:D
All things are new again…
Back in the 1970’s I was about 6th or 7th grade. My (Catholic) religious education teacher showed the class some little gold IUD earrings she used to wear back when she was a raging and stylish feminist. I remember she said she had thought they were a fun way to express her feminist identity and “educate people”. She told us a lot of stuff in an effort to show how truly hurt and messed up she had been.
I believe that was all before toxic shock syndrome became widely known.
I have hope for Natasha.
LOL Mary. That’s what I thought when I first saw them too!
If your husband gave you a kiss on your neck, he could take an eye out. Holding a baby could be dangerous too.
Actually, she’s producing lamanin jewelry – the protein molecule that binds humans together.
She didn’t quite get it right, but enough to start a meme ;-)
BTW – why is Natasha giving her “boss” IUD earrings…?
Wondering if she’s carrying any liability insurance for her business….
“Prettier than tampons.”
Just barely, though.
Hi Prax,
I have seen some pretty fancy fish lures and hooks, but it would never occur to me to wear them as earrings!
They’ve become a SIDE BUSINESS? Now I’ve heard everything!
*Sighs*
