Stanek Sunday funnies 3-15-15
Good morning, and Happy Sunday! Here were my top five favorite political cartoons this week. Be sure to vote for your fav in the poll at the bottom of this post!
by Nick Anderson at GoComics.com…
by Gary Varvel at Townhall.com…
a twofer by Michael Ramirez at Townhall.com…
by Nate Beeler at Townhall.com…

Number 5 is my pick this week.
This is shaping up to be such a massively underwhelming presidential race. Hillary is too moderate and has too much dirt – the right has a massive pile of unexciting, cooking cutter candidates. Need a third party to step up.
3rd party? Holy poly, Batman, Ex G and I found something to agree on! I’m writing this in my diary!
9ek –
Ha – yes. Would love if there were debates with Hillary (left of center), Jeb (right of center), Bernie Sanders (way left) and Rand Paul (way right).
I agree with components of all of their political beliefs – but what gets frustrating is when so many ideas (good or otherwise) aren’t even discussed because we get two vanilla candidates, and then force them to be as non-controversial as possible as we decide the election.
The saddest thing about elections is that if the Constitution were not there to stop Obama from running again there is 50% of the public on the take who would vote for Obama again. What a sick bunch of rats and lemurs they are.
truth –
No idea why you would say that is ‘sad’. You surely would have voted Reagan if he has been able to run for a third term. Bush against Obama – are you saying you wouldn’t have voted for Bush?
I’m not sure if you are railing in favor of term limits, which we have – or the job of the President (who has a higher nationwide approval level than S Walker does in Wisconsin – so again, not sure the point you are making).
– The Professor
We need a Congress that knows what America wants, and a President who stand in our way.
Hillary is the only one on the roster who is ideologically opposed to America and Americans…. but even she would be an improvement over Obama. Obama has set the bar for self-serving narcissism in office.
The one thing we really need in our President is some ability to manage international statesmanship.
Del –
Before I just rip into you, can you explain specifically how Hillary is opposed to America and Americans?
She is solely interested in the advancement and legacy of Hillary Clinton.
Any overlap with the good of America and the welfare of Americans is coincidental.
I expect that she will have more such coincidences than Obama. That is all.
===============================================
There is a reason why Hillary is not mentioned in connection with her husband, former President Bill Clinton. He was wise enough to work with the Congress we sent him, and the result was a golden age for Americans. He even deserves a Nobel Peace prize for his knack at international statesmanship, brokering the lasting peace in Northern Ireland.
Any pro-American Democrat needs to be likely to cooperate with the Republican Congress that he will have to work with.
So let me guess Del:
Obama – hates America
Clinton – hates America
S Walker – doesn’t hate America
J Bush – doesn’t hate America
Those your views?
“Before I just rip into you”
With the bloviations of a straw man
“No idea why you would say that is ‘sad’”
It seems to have gone over your head Ex-RINO…likely because you are part of the 50% who would vote for Obama again if presidential third terms were possible.
So you believe that if Obama were able to run again, he would garner nearly half the nationwide vote in a Presidential election.
Very insightful – what a profound statement truth (sarcasm).
Unfortunately people like you lack the insight to see how sad that is.
Unfortunate for Christians in Africa and the Middle East.
Unfortunate for the unborn everywhere.
Unfortunate for the poor in the US who’s wages and work possibilities are depressed by Obama’s immigration amnesty.
Unfortunate for all people in the Middle East who will be forced to either attack Iran or join Iran in an Obama sanctioned nuclear arms race.
Unfortunate for Ambassador Stevens and the patriots who died trying to save his life.
Unfortunate for the people of Iraq who supported the US efforts to stabilize the country.
Unfortunate for all the insecure mother’s in the US who will fall prey to Planned Parenthood and the lies of the ‘progressive’ propaganda machine.
Unfortunate for all the middle class people who were struggling to make ends meet and have seen their out-of-pocket medical expenses skyrocket.
Unfortunate for all people who promote a culture of dignity, opportunity and respect for all human beings.

Obama – hates America
Clinton – hates America
S Walker – doesn’t hate America
J Bush – doesn’t hate America
Those your views?
It’s not that Obama or Hillary “hate” America…. It’s just that they don’t care about what Americans want. They have their own agendas to fulfill, and they do not respect us and our own hopes for our own families.
Both were freshman senators who have always aspired to be president with great ambition.
Our Scott Walker and Mr. J. Bush are both governors who served the people of their states well enough to merit re-election.
Del –
I’d say that much more about Walker than Obama or Hillary – but that’s okay – everyone has their own opinion. I think Jeb is the best of the GOPers and will ultimately run for the right wing side.
I think it’s more than a bit shallow to say that they don’t care about what Americans want. Face it -you just disagree with them. To try to turn it into this “they are opposed to America” just sounds childish – quite frankly, I had you pegged as better than those kind of statements.
It’s not that Obama or Hillary “hate” America…. It’s just that they don’t care about what Americans want – yet Obama won two terms and Hillary looks good at this stage. Funny that, must be they care about what the majority want, which may just happen to exclude you.
The progressive man’s ‘funny’ is the rest of the world’s destruction.
truth
Over and over you seem to just invent this world that doesn’t exist, and you attack that.
For instance “Unfortunate for all the middle class people who were struggling to make ends meet and have seen their out-of-pocket medical expenses skyrocket.”
I mean, what are you even talking about? Look at some stats of the last 20 years and come back.
$10 says you liked all your own statements as well…
“just invent this world that doesn’t exist”
lol. you must be confusing my world with the world where medical rates go up but people are ‘given’ subsidies and nobody has to pay for it.
“$10 says you liked all your own statements as well…”
It is not worth my time to try and collect $10 from you but let’s make a deal. We will ask the mods to confirm if I was the one who liked my own statements. If I did then I will be banished from Jill’s blog for a month and if I didn’t then you will banish yourself from Jill’s blog for a month. Deal?
truth –
Again – if you want to do research and bring facts to these conversations, I’m happy to engage. If it’s just a rhetoric battle with nothing substantial – then I’ll skip over your comments.
Thanks
What’s happened in the recent few election cycles is that the average American is voting more for a celebrity than a representative. And I’d go so far as to say, most lo-fo’s don’t even comprehend the three branches of government and what constituents are or should mean.
Even if we had the perfect president, I’d still support term limits. Because I believe in DEMOCRACY. I believe in it, it’s superiority as a governing system. But few politicians are good enough, and I just end up picking the lesser of two evils. I am soooo ready for Door Number 3.
Ex-RINO, were you just bloviating about the $10? If not then make a $10 donation to Jill’s site.
9ek,
I agree about the term limits and that no candidate is perfect but I can think of a handful of GOP nominees who would be fabulous in comparison to Hillary or Kerry.
Oh, and I forgot to mention how fabulous they would be in comparison to Biden. Poor Joe, I have never seen a VP with so little support from an incumbent president.
Doesn’t matter who they are truthseeker, any of the current GOP frontrunners would lose to whoever the democrats put up.
That is sad if people would vote for Biden before Fiorina.
Anybody who would vote for Hillary must not place much value on honesty.
“Anybody who would vote for Hillary must not place much value on honesty”
…says the guy who loves Scott Walker
“$10 says you liked all your own statements as well”
Ex-RINO, speaking of honesty, did you pay up on the $10 yet?
truth –
I’ll trust you this time.
The most truthful thing on this thread though is that Hillary would beat any GOPer in the current field. Jeb Bush would keep it closest. Anybody else would get destroyed – not like Reagan 84 numbers, but if it ends up being Scott Walker, Rand Paul, Rick Perry or any of the other bigger names – we’ll at least get an early bedtime on election night.
That was funny though – seeing a Walker fan talk about Hillary’s honesty. Walker is quickly joining Mitt and John Kerry in the flip-flop of the month club.
You’ll trust me…. How sweet. Now what about the 10 bucks? Did you donate it to Jill’s site yet? More likely you will just keep ignoring it and bloviating strawmen cause your word means very little to begin with.
What is funny is that you didn’t address Hillary’s ‘honesty’ problem at all so I can only assume you agree she is a liar and you find that funny. A progressive’s funny is the rest of the world’s destruction.
Walker did NOT have a private server he used to keep official government business? Walker did NOT delete tens of thousands of records off said server cause Walker is not a crook like Hillary.
2016 will be a tricky one. I can’t see the GOP doing well with a boring white guy if Hillary is the Democratic nominee, and even the other potential Democratic candidates are to be taken seriously. But I bet we could win if we chose a likable candidate who is very smart, has decent approval ratings without serious baggage, is about as pro-life as you can get, has sufficient executive experience with a strong record, seriously understands the need to expand the party’s base rather than writing off 47% of voters, and has enough common sense to criticize his party when they deserve it. I wonder if such a character will run?
I have to wonder about the reaction if I said we can’t do well with a black guy as a candidate, boring or otherwise. Nothing about his qualifications, what he stands for, anything else, just the fact he’s black.
Just throwing it out there.
Navi,
What do you think of Fiorina?
Well, she’s clearly smart and far from boring. But she lost in 2010 by double digits, and has a lot of baggage (being ranked one of the worst CEOs of all time). Not who I was thinking of, though better than Barbara Boxer of course.
Navi
GOP will be very, very interesting to watch with how it plays out. Go too far to the center (Bush, Christie), and they lose a percentage of votes from the base. Go too for to the tea party crowd (Walker, Perry, Carson – though he’s probably out at this point) – and you lose any chance at independents. I think the GOP is in a real pickle – would be interesting to see how Rand Paul would play out – he’s the one guy that doesn’t fit a lot of those molds.
truth
I think Hillary is like any other politician and will twist and try to make things look fine until they are truly backed into a corner.
She has an honesty problem. But so does Walker. You can say that he doesn’t – but I’d be interested if you even know what he did on his campaign scandals.
Ex-RINO, Speaking of honesty (and bloviation) problems…did you donate $10 to Jill’s site yet ?
Navi, who voted her one of the worst CEO’s?
Truth, see here. They surveyed professors from top business schools, and they ranked her one of the 20 worst CEOs of all time.
So Bill Clinton suspects Obama is behind Hillary’s e-mail scandal.
LOLL. Do narcissistic/sociopathic minds think alike or what?? I will need to see solid proof, but somehow I find this very plausible. Obama’s middle finger in reference to Hillary spoke volumes to me.

When a narcissist has a score to settle, and the power to do it, its just a matter of time. For Obama this is very, very personal.
The Clintons are finally up against someone who thinks just like them and is every bit as dirty as they are…just a little more powerful.
Talk about poetic justice. Its long overdue.
truth
I’ll donate $10 to MD or something like that – I don’t donate to political organizations as a matter of principle.
If you had any principles somebody might believe you.
Thanks for the link Navi. The article claims that the her acquisition of Compaq was a failure. That merger would have meant job cuts and a downside for their numbers and stock price short term but long term it seems to have had benefits and gave them dominance in the ‘server’ market. I guess I would like to see more than that one CNBC article. Do you have anything else.
Ha – well truth – your approval or belief isn’t really high on my pyramid of needs – but nope, would never donate to either political party or overt political organizations – one thing to support or vote – another to put money behind them.
Glad to see you moving from Walker and Carson to your new flavor of the week. Again, will be interesting to see the race for 2016 runner-up.
I like most of them. Sorry you don’t have much of a choice You can add Santorum to that list. I hope he runs again too.
Ex-RINO, you and the rest of the progressives are die-hard political minions. Anybody who would even consider Hillary Clinton for president at this point shows complete disregard for transparency or honesty in America’s government.
Sorry truth – a Scott Walker fan simply has no leg to stand on to say that.
Ex-RINO, where does Walker keep the documents he uses to conduct state business? Answer, on government servers. That is all you have is the bloviated redirects of a strawman. You are a sorry case.
How many of the ‘personal’ emails Hillary deleted were from foreign donors to the Clinton Foundation?
truth –
I would hope on Government servers.
Is your contention that Scott Walker is a model of honesty and transparency?
