TED presenter: There’s “mystery, magic, divinity” in fetal development
The complexity… the mathematical models of how these things are done are beyond human comprehension. Even though I’m a mathematician, I look at this with a marvel of, “how do these instruction sets not make these mistakes as they build what is us?”
It’s a mystery, it’s magic, it’s divinity….
~ Alexander Tsiaras, in his TED Talks presentation featured by The Huffington Post, January 18
[HT: Susie Allen]

It’s a mystery – well some of it is yes, but a bit less of it every day.
it’s magic – er no, magic is trickery performed by illusionists and charlatans.
it’s divinity….- hardly!
Notice how the audience applauds at the birth. It is a miracle.
Yep. Everyone’s life, including your own, is a completely meaningless fluke of a bodily system in a single eukaryotic species out of millions between two organisms out of billions on a spinning blue ball hurtling through the cosmos. I wonder what it’s like to be completely dead inside from having all the awe and wonder stripped from life?
“It’s a mystery – well some of it is yes, but a bit less of it every day.”
Spoken like someone who never took a Biology class. Do you know how long human DNA is? Do you realize how intricate the weaving together of our nervous and circulatory systems is along with bone, muscle and skin? Respiration, digestion, the automatic and continuous function of internal organs? Even if we know every particle and every step involved, the human body is complex beyond anything else in the known universe.
The Hand of God is on these Babies.
The Mystery is Fading.
A Soul goes into the body and sparkles of Angel Dust Surround it!
Divinity absolutely!

I did biology in high school John, just like I dare say you did. I also visit the website of a university biology professor almost daily, as well as other similar sites.
Yes the human body and its functions are complex, to an extent which used to be beyond our imagination let alone our understanding. Not so much any more.
Now astrophysics and associated fields of study, those are areas with more complexity than we have found the extent of – yet.
“I did biology in high school John, just like I dare say you did.”
Did you take Anatomy & Physiology? Biochemistry? Organic Chemistry? Sounds like you didn’t, yet that doesn’t stop you from running your mouth. It’s true that we know a lot about the human body because it is right in front of us and can be easily studied. And yet it is far more complex than anything else we know of in the cosmos.
“Did you take Anatomy & Physiology? Biochemistry? Organic Chemistry?” – no John, I didn’t. If I had the knowledge I would have gained would now be well out of date. How about you?
I read what the current leaders in these fields write currently. So I will run my mouth, which is exactly the same as you’ve been doing :-)
“And yet it is far more complex than anything else we know of in the cosmos.” – many scientists would disagree with you John, as do I.
Perhaps the human body is a ‘metaphor’ or ‘replica’ of the cosmos. The cosmos has more dimensions though, that complexilizes it up a bit. (yes I made that word up, my gift to you)
