So tired of these Hollywood folks having the babies before they get married.
Courtnay, I thought the point was that a baby is a joyous thing – no matter the marital status of the parents?
Elizabeth, I welcome any baby born if the alternative is, of course, abortion. But that does not preclude me from desiring better role models for my 13 year old daughter. The best way to bring a baby into this world is to be married, though I do understand that this sometimes does not always happen. Having said that, Jessica Simpson is a smart (and a professed Christian) public figure. Her picture tells my daughter that this is an equal moral choice, and from where I sit and raise my family, it is not.
You may feel differently. I don’t know. I am happy she is not aborting, but then I doubt she’d take a picture of that for Halloween.

Ah yes, the marriages of ‘slebs’. I see Kim Kardashian has now joined the never-ending parade of people demonstrating the ‘sanctity of traditional marriage’, those from the trailer parks all the way to those on Park Avenue. Yet allowing those gays to marry would destroy it!
yeah kim kardashian is getting on my nerves anymore. i just think shes too high on herself for any guy. i dont think she married for publicity though. its actually her second marriage. im not wild about that guy she married either but he deserves to get his 2 million dollar ring back. when it comes to kim k i just dont get it. she has a pretty face. where is the talent? jessica simpson has always maintained she is a christian but its obvious she slid back. remember when that goof john mayer told playboy she was good in bed? well shes fornicating. i hope she marries the dad and gets her life back on track.
sometimes i wonder how much fame a woman needs. why is madonna still dancing around in her underpants at 80? iit was cool in the 80s and 90s but retire already. its kind of pathetic that she still feels the need to grab up more and more money.

Please stop hating! It’s her life not yours!!!!!!! With the exception of one or two comments, it seems like a bunch of over critical judgmental negative nancy’s! The woman is 31 years old. She can do whatever she wants! This is America.
She might BE married!! DOH!! How do you know know she’s not married to some average guy and keeping it hidden from the papparazzi?! And I seriously doubt that your daughter realizes that she’s not married!

@INYL: So this is America. So what? None one is saying she should be thrown into jail/put in the stocks/feather-tickled for three solid hours/insert-other-punishment-here. They’re saying they think she made a bad choice. And, as you pointed out, this is America; they’re allowed to say that. Nor do you have any right to require everyone to agree with your view on what actions are or are not acceptable. Maybe you should stop judging other people’s moral views, huh?

I think that if you want to reduce the number of abortions you should work on eliminating the stigma against unplanned pregnancies – especially when it comes to young girls, unmarried women, and anyone that is supposed to be a “good Christian”. You may say this isn’t the IDEAL situation but she’s keeping the baby and I thought that was the point.
Think before you speak, those without sin shall cast the first stone, etc etc. What if a young woman was secretly pregnant and heard you passing judgment on Jessica Simpson for having a child out of wedlock? Don’t you think the thought would cross her mind that it would be easier to just abort rather than face judgment from “loving” Christians? After all, with an abortion no one would ever have to know that she found herself in a hard situation in the first place. Jessica Simpson has enough money and a partner and is in a situation to support and love this child no matter her marital status – let’s celebrate that if you celebrate life.
