  • Wesley J. Smith notes that the Democratic Party’s abortion platform is extreme, even for the majority of Democrats:

While solid majorities of Democrats back some limitations on abortion — 59 percent would ban partial-birth abortions, for example, and 60 percent endorse a mandatory waiting period — the official position of their party is that even common-sense restrictions are unthinkable….

If Obamacare remains in effect, eventually Congress will revoke the abortion restrictions currently in the law. Then, we’ll see a “Free Abortion Rule,” patterned after the Free Birth Control Rule.

  • Women’s Rights without Frontiers has another story of the family planning “terrorism” in China:

The couple’s second daughter fell to her death from a fourth floor window during a quarrel with her boyfriend. Her parents took the boyfriend’s parents to court and won a judgment of 43,000 RMB ($6700), but they were never paid. The victim’s husband petitioned to enforce the judgment.

In retaliation for this petition, that local government forcibly sterilized his wife. The local government told the victim’s husband that if he and his wife kept quiet about the forced sterilization, they would receive compensation. The couple, however, decided to post the incident on the Internet.

Memo to FBI: Back away from pro-lifers

News about the visit the FBI paid to son-in-law Andy Moore is getting around – as far as New Zealand.

Today Andy’s attorneys, the Life Legal Defense Fund, sent a letter to the FBI accusing it and President Obama’s Department of Justice of attempting to intimidate pro-life activists around the country:

Obama administration’s harassment of pro-lifers gets personal

On July 13 FBI agents Conrad Rodriguez and William Sivley paid a visit to my son-in-law, Andy Moore, at his home.

Andy is a pro-life activist who prays and protests outside the Southwest Women’s Surgery Center abortion mill in Dallas, where late-term abortionist Curtis Boyd freely acknowledges he “kill[s]” children.

Agents Rodriguez and Sivley told Andy three red flags prompted their visit:

Australian pro-life tour recap

Rich and I are at the airport. It’s 12:30p on July 16 here. (Happy 30th birthday to son Tim!) Our plane departs for America soon, thus ending our whirlwind pro-life tour for Right to Life Australia.

No matter what state or country I visit, I find pro-lifers amazingly similar. We are our own unique culture, like our own ideological country. No matter where I travel, I meet instant best friends. There’s no time or need for small talk. We jump right to the topic at the front of all our minds, the sanctity of innocent human life. So it was in Australia. I will miss my new friends.

  • Big Blue Wave shines a light on the “French partial birth abortion” method, found in a document released by the French College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists:

It consists of birthing a baby until the head and upper body is out and then committing feticide by injecting the umbilical cord with a lethal agent such as potassium chloride. This must occur before the first breath, so technically, it could even occur after complete expulsion.

  • ProLifeBlogs posts a C-FAM article describing abortion proponents’ defeat at the United Nations Rio+20 Conference on Sustainable Development last week:

Along with the Holy See, Nicaragua, Chile, Russia, Honduras, Syria, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and Egypt all rejected the introduction of “reproductive rights” into the Rio +20 outcome document.
