A new 527 has emerged. Called BornAliveTruth.org, the political organization says its mission “is to educate the public on the IL Born Alive Infants Protection Act and Senator Obama’s record opposing this act.”
In this TV ad, which is said to be airing in battleground states NM and OH, a woman named Gianna Jessen says she survived an failed abortion, and criticizes Obama for voting against legislation that would have declared that if a baby survives an abortion its life must be saved.
“I’m a survivor, as are many others…but if Barack Obama had his way, I wouldn’t be here,” she says. “Four times, Barack Obama voted to oppose a law to protect babies left to die after a failed abortion. Senator Obama, please support born alive infant protections. I’m living proof these babies have a right to live.”
Jessen claims on her website to have survived her then-17-year-old mother’s saline abortion in her third trimester.
We told you about this abortion vote that Republicans would use agianst Obama back in January.

Scott Peterson received a death sentence for killing the unborn baby inside his wife who he also killed. According to Obama this baby was not a baby and Peterson was convicted of killing a thing.

Yeah, apparently they think that NO ONE actually could survive an abortion. I mean, they’re not supposed to, right? Maybe that’s why these people think the BAIPA is just a hoax, right?
And perhaps they think that Gianna is just faking, since abortion survivors gain SO much wealth and status and fame and showers of blessings from society for speaking out…right? ;)

She probably means If Barack Obama had his way, other people like me wouldn’t be here.”
But, that’s a lie too. Obama isn’t having “his way.” The worst you can say about his position is that he thought the government should stay out of it, and not impose any “way.”
And here’s the freaken amazing part of her whole ad, she IS ALIVE despite the fact that this bill hadn’t even been introduced yet. So, who needs this Act?

Hal, I think she just means in general. For example, remember SoMG telling us that his mom had an abortion? Well, perhaps today his mom would say “If Bobby Bambino had his way, I would not have been able to have my abortion.” Well, I didn’t exist when she had her abortion (I think, at least) but she would just mean that I want to take away the right to procure an abortion, and if I could, I would have taken that if I could have had my “supernatural” way, I would have made abortions illegal, even before I was born.
OK, that was an odd analogy, but hopefully it makes sense…
Poor Hal. We’re obviously insulting him with all this sympathy for a woman who “claims” to have survived an abortion, and he’s just expressing his “anger”.
How thoughtless of us not to think of his feelings. How could we be so cold and unfeeling?
Just think how frustrated he is that she is still alive when her mother obviously wanted her to be dead, so many years ago. How long will we torture him?
Doyle, this woman is alive despite the fact that “Jill’s Law” was not yet in effect. How can we explain this? I thought that without this law Obama would kill all the babies?

Had she followed “standard procedure” Gianna would have either been left to die, or strangled or suffocated to death as happened with other babies born alive at the time (and probably still happens).
Jill’s law establishes that children born alive MUST be given care when they otherwise would have been left to die.

In the case of Partial Birth Abortion, YES. Before the law changed, an abortionist had the power to take matters in his own hands (literally) when a baby was born alive. He did not have to have a second doctor there with him during the abortion if he had deemed the fetus/BABY “NON-VIABLE” prior to the abortion attempt. This is the so-called LOOP-HOLE in the existing law that Obama chose to ignore.
How I wish even HALF THIS ENERGY AND DEBATE COULD BE DIRECTED TOWARD THE UNNECESSARY! and often EXCESSIVE ADDICTION to “sex”,( NOT LOVE OR BABY MAKING)that permeates every conscious minute in the USA, today! The “baby” (fetus) didn’t ORININATE in any woman’s womb without a SPERM being introduced! How about these anti-abortion Evangelists FOCUSING MORE ON THE uncontrolled pursuit of SEX/LUST regardless of the “proper’ entitlements(?)..or, simple refusal to exercise any self control!
Albeit it’s a natural and needed form of biological action, I HAVE YET TO HEAR A SERMON FROM ANYONE (MAN OR WOMAN!) reminding the male population of THEIR GOD GIVEN OBLIGATION to NOT allow a conception..if, not delibertly, intended!
For “openers’..they could start with the over whelming INCITEMENTS in every imaginable way ! that the MEDIA saturates the American public with
daily…in their own homes…their livingrooms, bedrooms and yes, even in the presence of their children during “family” quality time!

Hal, accidents do happen. Gianna was born in California, not Illinois, (and long before Obama voted to let such babies die, 4 times) but she was lucky enough to have been born after the abortionist had left the room, and a sympathetic nurse called 911. But should we depend on “luck” to bring medical attention to such babies? Or should we make it mandatory?
