Plan ahead: Pro-life day of solidarity
![]()
October 21 will mark the 4th annual Pro-Life Day of Solidarity, sponsored by StandTrue.com.
On that day students ranging from grade school to college all over the world will silently protest abortion by wearing red duct tape, a red arm band, and/or a pro-life t-shirt . There are also flyers to download and distribute to explain the silence.
Register now and start getting friends on board. So far 1,708 schools are participating.
If a school forbids the activity, Pro-Life Day of Solidarity has legal help available.

Hey,
This is kind of embarassing question for a testosterone poisoned individual to ask, but what is this ‘Track back’ thing next to ‘Comment’?

I hope no less than 10,000 of CBR’s business card sized images are distributed on high school and college campuses on that day!
Go buy em in packs of 10 here at the CBR site and commit to distributing 100 or more of them in the high schools in your area on that day.

kbhvac,
The trackback keeps record of the number of websites that have linked to that post.
Wait so do they wear the duct tape over their mouths? That would probably be a problem. Some people might not know what they’re doing, they should be able to explain.
Jess,
There’s also a link above to flyers they can print to explain the tape on the mouth. Or they can just wear the pro-life t-shirt (see above).
Jess,
You don’t have to wear the duct tape over your mouth..you can put it on your sleeve or anything. I’m going to do it this year and will actually be in school on the day so that’s pretty exciting. I did it last year too, but it was really hard to not talk with an 18-month old, but I tried to stay silent as much as possible.
I think this is great. It just might nudge thinking people into remembering the unheard voices of the starving, raped, beaten, disabled ……….
Actual people that actualy feel the pain of violence and injustice. And highlight how little the far right cares about them.
Go Elizabeth!! I will be praying for you!
Sally,
I am praying for you too.
The starving, raped, beaten, and disabled are not unheard. There are laws, advocacy, counseling, support groups, and ministries to help. It’s not about “the far right” caring. We ALL need to care about ALL people, starting at conception.
I know you have had trauma in your life and you have experienced much. Please seek healing so you can help others.
You can wear the duct tape on your sleeve, and pass out the flyer they have on their website. Red Duct tape is the color they are looking for.
Found some really GREAT bumper stickers at this website:

One of them says:
IF IT’S NOT A BABY, YOU’RE ARE NOT PREGNANT!
How true.

Right it is dumb….. because the unborn are not actual people and they feel no pain, even during a partial birth abortion.
Maybe you could tape your mouth for a day and carry around your own little flyers with your personal message. People would definitely take notice. I think it would be great.
Janet, how is that her own personal message? We should be incorporating it into this day of solidarity.
Life is life.

Um, because it would be mouth taped up. I don’t disagree with you. There are many LIFE causes…… they could all be represented. Contact the organizers and see how they feel. It could happen if enough people felt the same way.
Maybe the group could design a white t-shirt for next year. Something different from the dreary black and grey of the last two years. Just a thought.
Oops! Correction to my answer:
“Um, because it would be HER mouth taped up.”
IF IT’S NOT A BABY, YOU’RE ARE NOT PREGNANT!
That’s silly. Pregnancy or not is physical fact. “Baby” or not exists in the eye of the beholder, totally subjective.
That’s silly too, Doug. If a mother is not pregnant with a baby, what is she pregnant with? a teeniebopper?
As for the eye of the beholder, both of mine report many pregnant men who drink too much beer. Are they really pregnant?
If it’s not a baby, you are not pregnant!
Jon, “baby” or not is subjective. Doesn’t matter what you call the fetus – you can call it anything – and the whole abortion argument is still out there.
Do you really think the conceptus is a “baby”?
It’s a human being, Doug. It’s not a blob of flesh or a disease; it’s another individual of the same kind as you and I and the former African slaves.
Women do not talk about their new human being or fetus or conceptus or adolescent. Those are scientific terms. Women say that they are expecting or going to have a baby (in the future, yes), or that they are with child (old-fashioned). In the case of an adolescent, they say that they have a teenager in the house. “Ask a teenager, they know everything.”
You’re technically right, but you’re missing the point. Women think of a baby as something to hug, kiss, hold, squeeze, feed, and soothe. They can’t handle a fetus thus, but they anticipate the day that they can. They e-mail the ultrasound pictures to each other. (I think so, anyway. My sister e-mailed hers. I would think that it depends on the woman, her health, her prior experience, and her level of confidence.) Some lovers speak of baby-making–which, as some parents of the grateful bride or groom have been known to recall, in a somewhat demeaning fashion, took all of a few seconds.
Men have been known to call women babes. The essence of a baby is that it can’t do much for itself. It depends completely on its parents, just as they completely depend on God.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The purpose of a pregnancy is to produce a baby. He who breaks a thing to find out what it is has already left the path of reason. Psalm 139 expresses the right attitude. The spiritual realm is as real as the physical realm.
If it’s not a baby, you’re not pregnant!
Jon – yeah, it’s how one thinks of the unborn, and that can vary.
Yeah, Doug, you’ve said that. One can think rightly, and one can think wrongly. One can think subjectively. Some don’t think at all. Women generally rely on feelings more than men do. Perhaps they can feel the baby they are nurturing. Let’s get to the point. A mother’s supposed to nurture her child, not kill it.
Anyway, it’s how God wants us to think of the unborn, and He doesn’t change. As an agnostic, you can’t argue this point. After all, the God whom I believe in might exist; you just know that you don’t know. As an atheist, Hindu, or adherent of some other religion, you can try to argue with me.
IF IT’S NOT A BABY, YOU’RE NOT PREGNANT!
