Humane Society endorses Obama
Below is an interesting endorsement on several counts.
First, I just have to say the photo of Obama holding a poodle – in front of Abraham Lincoln, no less – makes me want to puke.
Second, all the legislators the Humane Society touts as pro-humane treatment of animals are radically anti-humane treatment of preborn humans – Obama, Boxer, Durbin, and Biden….
In fact, all but Biden support partial birth abortion – internally manipulating late-term babies to the breech position, delivering them to the head, puncturing the nape of the neck, suctioning out the brains, and collapsing the skull to complete the delivery of a dead tortured baby.
The disconnect is insane.
Third, that the Humane Society calls Dick Durbin Barack Obama’s “political mentor” gives me the shivers. Durbin is one of the most coldly calculating politicians ever, once professing to be pro-life – even serving as master of ceremonies at a pro-life banquet – and turning away from the truth for ambition.
Fourth, the Humane Society has no problem promoting single issue voting. Do liberals and MSM ever browbeat animal welfare advocates for their focus? No, because they like who those particular single issue voters like.

”The disconnect is insane.”
Truer words were never spoken.
People who can cry over a poor tortured animal and NOT over the tortured death of babies in, partially in and just out of the womb is insane.
If you don’t have compassion for both, check your conscience, it’s very ill and possibly on the verge of it’s own death.
Just yesterday I saw a poor service dog that was being dragged by it’s owner thru the grocery store in obvious pain. The poor dog was old and had obvious hip problems. I chased the women thru the store and in no un-certain terms spoke up for the dog.
Well, there goes another chairty that will never receive a red cent from this family.

I would like to know if the information on Gov Palin’s position in Alaska on Wolves and Caribou is true?????? It sounds so incriminating, there is something wrong here. I can’t believe that a pro-life person would stand for the wholesale slaughter of wolves. Game is hunted for food in Alaska, just as hunters kill Deer in the lower 48. Trophy hunters???? Don’t wolves kill caribou for food??? We were given domain over the animals for food. Will we all become vegetarians because we have personified animals? How does the Humane Society view people who eat meat???
First, I just have to say the photo of Obama holding a poodle – in front of Abraham Lincoln, no less – makes me want to puke.
Now you know how we’ve felt for the past eight years under Bush.
Get used to it.
Second, all the legislators the Humane Society touts as pro-humane treatment of animals are radically anti-humane treatment of preborn humans – Obama, Boxer, Durbin, and Biden.
But they’re pro-humane treatment of women, and that’s what really counts. Women shouldn’t have to be “humane” to unwanted intruders within their bodies.
“But they’re pro-humane treatment of women,”
Only after birth, reality (and only to the extent of giving them permission to kill babies). Those female babies whose destruction you so casually support would have made women too, had they lived.
Too bad, you are killing off potential future supporters of your type of homicide against the innocent.
reality @ 9:45
If women were pinned down and their brains suctioned out – that’s humane?
To you – yes.
Oh yeah – it’s because they haven’t aged beyond 9 months.
You’re sick.
Only after birth, reality
Obviously, because birth is when a person’s life begins.
If women were pinned down and their brains suctioned out – that’s humane?
Anyone residing inside the body of an unwilling person should expect to be removed by whatever means necessary.
Of course, fetuses do not have developed minds so they can’t expect (or feel) anything.
Obviously, because birth is when a person’s life begins.
You have no grip on ‘reality’ whatsoever. Read a biology book for goodness sake.
“Obviously, because birth is when a person’s life begins. ”
Hey Reality. I define life as beginning the moment someone goes out with their friends on a Friday night. By “go out”, I mean that a friend of theirs must pick them up in a car at their house and drive them to a different location. Life begins the moment you sit on the seat of the car. You can be killed as you’re entering the car, as long as your rear never touches the seat. This includes killing someone as they are on their way to the car, opening the car door, or waving goodbye to mom (quite literally they’d be waving goodbye to mom in that case!) But the second your butt touches the seat, life has begun.
Can you give me any good reason why your definition of when life begins is any better than mine? God love you.
Oh Bethany! They have to use the most bizarre lines of rationalizing because there is no way to reasonably defend abortion.
Hmm…that doesn’t look like a poodle as much as a Bichon-Frise. Or maybe a Bichon-poo.
The Terrorist Barack Hussein Obama

Apparently you know this from experience.
Jill: The picture of Obama holding a cute little dog makes you want to puke? Wow.
Joan, the story about Palin supporting shooting wolves from airplanes, and offering a $150 bounty for their front foreleg is true, as is her suit aginst protecting polar bears.
The Humane Society is dedicated to animal protection, and endorsed the candidates with by far the best record on the issues. End of story.
actually, just Mcain’s face makes ME want to puke.. .Ick.. not to mention his horrible personality and lack of compassion..So I suppose they are tied…
Figures…the Humane Society is incrementalist organization for animals. They frequently target other animal rights/ethics groups, and few serious animal activists view them as a legitimate group (most of their support comes from meat-eaters). They are a wealthy organizations with a corporate outlook on the treatment of animals.
They’re like the NRLC of animal protection, but far, far worse.
PPC,
Links to the shooting wolves from airplanes, front foreleg etc. that you mentioned?
Women shouldn’t have to be “humane” to unwanted intruders within their bodies.
If you don’t want company, don’t invite them to your home.
Carla, I don’t play the “link” game in which your next move is to denounce whatever source is linked. Google “Palin wolf” and pick your source from the first few thousand hits. Try the Wall Street Journal article of 9/12/08.
Does anyone here ever read anything other than this website, or watch anything other than Fox News? Palin’s anti-animal, anti-environmental record is a matter of common knowledge.

“People who can cry over a poor tortured animal and NOT over the tortured death of babies”
Hey Sandi did you hear about how the staff of an abortion clinic raped a baby, shot it all up with drugs, rolled it around in its own excrement, kicked it a few times, dragged it back when it tried to crawl away screaming and crying and then smashed its head open with bricks while it tried to fight them?
You didn’t hear about that? Because it never happened. The abuse of animals is at least far more extensive in the time frame and intensity. The abuse of animals also effects so many human lives. People die when animal meat gets contaminated because of the poor working condition of employees on factory farms. When a factory farm didn’t properly dispose of waste because of the huge amount of animals in such a small space six, SIX women had miscarriages. That’s six dead babies. Still think it’s fine?
This article by the humane society shows an extreme lack of knowledge on how things work in rural America. It basically described one of the primary functions of the US Fish & Wildlife service with some fudging here and there to cast it in an evil light. The Fish & Wildlife service offers economic incentives ALL THE TIME for ALL KINDS of different animals. And it’s not to “artificially boost the populations” of certain animals for “trophy hunters,” it’s to keep certain animals from wiping out other ones. The wolves have been known to really wreak havoc when they get out of hand in certain areas. It is the duty of the US Fish & Wildlife Service to maintain a balanced ecosystem as well as ensure hunting and fishing opportunities for future generations through various means of regulation. This means banning the harvest of some creatures, limiting the harvest of others, and offering incentives for the harvest of still others.
I imagine that the Humane Society would be against all hunting in general, but they should just come out and say that instead of making Palin look like an evil maniac bent on needlessly slaughtering wildlife.
I only play the link game when I want to read something for myself that someone mentioned.
Anyone who is outraged at the shooting of wolves from an airplane but still eats animal flesh has no grounds to complain. ALL meat is cruel, whether the animal is shot from a plane, killed with a bow/arrow, or spent his/her entire life in captivity, awaiting slaughter.
The Humane Society endorses “humane meat” which is still cruel and the flesh of a slaughtered animal. HSUS is a sham organization, and shouldn’t be taken seriously.
“It is the duty of the US Fish & Wildlife Service to maintain a balanced ecosystem”
How unnatural is it to mess with nature? Yeah animals eat each other. It’s more harmful to the ecosystem to have humans eating meat the way we do. Jill said that organic beer taste much better then the regular kind, obviously. Humans weren’t made to eat the way we do now in America. Think about even a hundred years ago. Do you eat anything your grandparents did?
I try and make as much food as I can from natural ingredients from scratch. I suggest checking out Bethany’s website and her once-a-month cooking.
So true pro-life atheist. Thank you for mentioning it.
PPC @ 12:11,

Common courtesy would have you provide a link when requested. Sheesh.
“How unnatural is it to mess with nature?”
Well Jess, that’s a pretty complex subject, and I don’t think I have the answer. How do you differentiate between “messing with nature” and “letting nature run its course”? Are we messing with nature when we attempt to preserve it, or is it in our nature to attempt to preserve nature. In which case, not messing with nature would be messing with nature. Because humans are a part of nature, despite our differences from animals. I tend to believe that taking care of the environment is man’s responsibility. And really, stopping now would have terrible consequences. All kinds of endangered species would go extinct, a few dominant species would take over the others either by crowding them out or preying on them, certain noxious weeds and tree killing insects would take a toll on the plant life, etc.
And, I guess I don’t really see how humans eating meat is harmful to the ecosystem in any remarkable way. What were you speaking of, specifically? Also, I’m pretty sure my grandparents ate meat just like I do, as did generations and generations before them.
That being said, I respect your wish to avoid eating meat out of concern for the animals’ well-being. My family is pretty much vegetarian on one side and staunch organic/wholesome food on the other.
Oh I’m mad as hell now! Who do they think they are speaking for me. Oh this makes me sick. I don’t want to be associated with that. I didn’t created my animal rescue for the purpose of endorsing a murderer for president. ACK OH I’M SO MAD. IT’S ON NOW. On my animal account I’m going to show I’m for McCain. I need to update my videos of animals and put annotation at the beginning of every animal video saying I’m voting for McCain. Grrrrrrrrr.
Here’s the real stench of this photo:
Abraham Lincoln lead and fought a war in a country divided over one of the most heinous treatment of humans – black slavery. 600,000 men died in that battle to end slavery.
Legalized abortion is no different.
And this joker, who stands in front of the Lincoln Memorial holding a poodle, is a rabid pro-abort whose future acts may actually lead this country into a civil war over abortion.
Barack Obama – a wolf in a poodle’s clothing.

Civil War over abortion? Not bloody likely.

The race is clearly divided down the middle. How does that make him a uniter?
He’s not gaining any fans either when he tells a plumber he’s going to spread HIS wealth around to those under him. McCain released an economic plan that looks pretty good, although I’m no expert.
Here’s the story I mentioned above:
“Obama to Plumber: My Plan Will ‘Spread the Wealth Around’

The race is clearly divided down the middle. How does that make him a uniter?”
That’s not his fault. He is campaigning honorably. The real test will be to see how he governs.
I read the Humane Society release very carefully. I think it is safe to draw the conclusion that Obama would now oppose partial-birth abortion — for poodles.
Douglas,
Ugh.
Jess: How unnatural is it to mess with nature?
And yet you advocate for the tearing of a child from its mother’s womb, which is its NATURAL home for the first nine months of its life, to end a pregnancy, which, by the way, is the NATURAL outcome of sexual relations. If I remember correctly, you also advocate for chemical contraception which suppresses and manipulates fertility which is part of our NATURAL human condition. Yep. Sounds like you’re all about letting nature take its course.
I didn’t say I supported it or not.
Someone once stated that in times where folly is passed off as fact, it becomes necesssary to state and restate the truth calmly and repeatedly.
We see here comparisons between human offspring and animal offspring, as though they have the same inherent value and dignity. As an animal lover myself and as someone who raises cattle(humanely) I recognize the value and dignity of such. But there is a world of difference between animals and humans. It is indeed unfortunate and in some instances illegal when animals are mistreated or cruely abused. But yet, when tiny babies are torn limb by limb from their mother’s womb where are the animal lovers then? If it were fido or kitty that was so abused you can bet the animal lovers would be in someone’s face demanding someone’s head on a platter. Sometimes it seems the political left in our country engages in non-stop adolescent moralizing.
Great, so according to “reality” I can leave my front door wide open with a huge sign in the yard that says “COME ON IN!!!” and then murder anyone who does because they’re an INTRUDER!
Also, at what point in the journey through the birth canal do the baby’s nerves begin to work? What gestational age do they have to be? Do they have to be full emerged or just partially? I guess according to “reality” a 25 week “fetus” in the NICU isn’t capable of feeling anything. Great logic. Oh man, if it’s the magic of the vagina that gets the nerve endings working, does that mean babies born by c-section NEVER feel anything?
Or is just when you’re trying to kill them that they don’t feel anything?
Katie,
According to the pro-abort phylosphy, it’s only wanted babies that can feel anything.
I’ve often song Psalm 84 in church:
How lovely are Thy dwelling places,
O LORD of hosts!
My soul longed and even yearned for the courts of the LORD;
My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.
The bird also has found a house,
And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young,
Even Thine altars, O LORD of hosts,
My King and my God…
Did anyone learn this song as a child?
God sees the little sparrow fall;
It knows His tender care.
If God so loves the little birds,
I know He loves me too.
He loves me too!
He loves me too!
I know He loves me too!
If God so loves the little birds,
I know He loves me too.
Or do any of you know Steve Green’s “Hide ‘Em In Your Heart” song for the following verses (Matt. 5:25-26):
For this reason I say to you, do not be anxious for your life, as to what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor for your body, as to what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?
In God we trust!
We live after the Fall into sin. We may kill most creatures. God Himself set the example by giving Adam and Eve (leather or fur) clothes made from animal skin. Animal death is a consequence of sin. Sin altered reality. God is “pro-choice” in that people can sin. They shouldn’t, but they can. If there is any contradiction in God’s world, it is sin.
However, we may not kill the creatures that God had created in His image.
The LORD saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. So the LORD said, “I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth-men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air-for I am grieved that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. Gen. 6:5-8
Then God sent the Flood to destroy every living thing except those that were in Noah’s barge. Then God re-created the world.
Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands. Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
“But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each man, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellow man.
“Whoever sheds the blood of man,
by man shall his blood be shed;
for in the image of God
has God made man.
As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it.” Gen. 9:1-7
When God recreated the world, He renewed His relationship with the people whom He had made to rule over it. Because of the existence of sin and corruption, His blessing upon Noah was necessarily different than His blessing upon Adam (Gen. 1-2).
The civil government’s main task is to prevent violence. They are God’s minister (see Rom. 13) to punish evil-doers. As God said in the passage above, killers of human beings are to be punished with capital punishment. That’s a principle of justice: the punishment must fit the crime.
jon can you give the biblical reference where it says “Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.”
JamieNov81, Genesis 9:3
Truthseeker: According to the pro-abort phylosphy, it’s only wanted babies that can feel anything.
If you actually come across somebody who is “pro-abortion,” then they will be just as anti-choice as you.
If you mean Pro-Choicers, then no, wanted/unwanted has nothing to do with that – you’re making it up.
