“If in his first 100 days, he repeatedly sticks his finger in the eyes of the 48% of voters who voted against him,” [Gary] Bauer [president of American Values] says, “I think that’s going to be a clear signal that however how charming it was to independent voters, it was a ruse.”
But [Michael] Gerson [a former Bush speechwriter] believes Obama learned a lesson from Clinton’s experience. He says that the new president would be crazy to make abortion his first agenda item — even though he has to contend with “8 years of pent up liberal demand.”
“So he’s going to have to make some of those choices,” Gerson says. “He has high expectations from the liberal wing of the congressional majority, and he has the realities of governing, where you don’t want to pick culture war fights in the first 100 days, or even your first year, because you want to get some things accomplished.”
Jill Stanek is a nurse turned speaker, columnist and blogger, a national figure in the effort to protect both preborn and postborn innocent human life.
“Years” of progress? Didn’t Bush re-enact all of those on his first DAY? (Well, except the RU-486 thing, ’cause by then it was already FDA approved.)

That liberal demand is awful went it gets pent up. Found a mess of it clogging one of my drains last night, and not even Joe the Plumber knew what to do about it.
What strikes me the most is long I’ve lived without really thinking about what kind of word “pent” is. Not even the dictionaries are certain. One of them says it’s the past tense of the verb “pen” — i.e., the liberal demand was penned up, like wild pigs. I think “penned in” would be more accurate, though, unless pigs can fly. Another dictionary said it was “probably from past participle of obsolete English pend to confine.”
These liberals can’t keep nothing straight, not even their disgusting demands.
I dont believe for a second that Obama will hold off on his radical agenda. The MSM is making it sound like he got a huge mandate from the voters. Granted, he did a lot better in the electoral college, but I suspect ACORN had a lot to do with that, in Indiana and Ohio for example. However he didnt get a huge “mandate” as far as popular vote goes. 52% is not a big majority.
Obama will cater to Pelosi, Clinton, Reid and all the left wing nuts. He’s one himself, so why wouldnt he?

Ambassador Keyes has now started a lawsuit, joined by an actual elector. The previous dismissals of suits challenging Obama’s status as a natural born citizen rested solely on the plaintiffs’ lack of standing, which may not be an issue in the new lawsuits. No one has yet seen his original 1961 birth certificate, and there may be some surprises if he is forced to produce it.
However, I do suspect the courts will dismiss it just to avoid a civil war. But before you pooh-pooh it as frivolous, you should read the allegations of the Keyes suit (available in pdf form at the link above) and specify precisely what it is that you find so ridiculous. I’ve submitted more proof to get a drivers’ license than Obama has to become president.

More regarding “pent”:
I thought I’d look up pender (Spanish) to see if there might be a connection. “Pender” is an intransitive verb meaning “to hang” (as in a pendant/necklace?) or “to be pending”. According to Wiktionary, the adjective “pent-up” has two meanings: 1.”not expressed” and 2.”repressed or suppressed, especially of emotions or impulses”.
The cloneworkers and the recombinant DNA splicers have been hard at work….
Why should Obama do anything for the 48% who voted against him? Just as Bush claimed he had a mandate, so too does Obama have a mandate – it’s a generational shift, a political shift and a cultural shift. You don’t have to take a right-hand turn if you’re on a new journey, Obama is charting a new course, and the old political directions don’t apply.

There are several other atheists and agnostic pro-lifers here. There is Bee, Doyle, Mary, xalise (I think I spelled that wrong), and pro-life atheist just to name a few. There is also this website http://godlessprolifers.org/home.html The Atheist and Agnostic Pro-Life Homepage, which has TONS of pro-life atheist and agnostics and other non-theists. It helps to have that site on hand because it shows that this is not a religious issue, but a human rights issue. God love you.

Not just science, but pure logic can show that. Whatever condition (aside from being in the womb) that you can say makes the unborn not human also applies to a born human somewhere in the world. There are people who’s hearts don’t beat anymore, they have artificial hearts. There are people with a lack of brain function; they’re vegetables. There are people who don’t “look” human; people missing arms, legs, little people, people without torsos, people without FACES. There are all kinds of people on this earth, but we’re all human. Just because born people are very different, doesn’t mean we allow their murders. I think the idea that it’s okay to kill a human in the early weeks of life because they’re very small and not formed is a bunch of baloney. I can’t count how many medical reality shows I’ve seen that show people that don’t look at all like what you’d expect a human to look like.

1. In June 2006, after four years of running an obscenely blasphemous atheist blog, I vowed to never attack God, Christianity or religion again. As part of that vow, however, I also promised never to disclose my own beliefs, or the reason for refusing to disclose them.

(Note: the statement in the interviewer’s introduction that “He [me] is firmly opposed to belief in God” was the interviewer’s conclusion from reading my blog, not a statement made to her by me).
