Backlash: Abortion proponents attack Planned Parenthood, NARAL
Of course pro-aborts have ample reason to see red following the House’s passage of the Stupak/Pitts pro-life amendment to the socialized healthcare bill. Duck, because they’re shooting wildly at each other.
My first indication was this on Twitter…
Then, ooh la la, came this headline in the Huffington Post…
Get out the popcorn…
… Stupak wrote a letter signed by 19 Democrats saying they would do just what they’re doing right now – holding the bill hostage. And what did NARAL and Planned Parenthood do? Well, they released a lot of statements echoing the President’s contention that the bill contained no abortion funding. But that was never Stupak’s objection….
[H]elping the Democrats stay in power by giving them the Official Good Gyno Seal of Approval is what NARAL and Planned Parenthood do….
Could they whip the pro-choice women to block the rule if they want to? Of course they could. Yank their endorsements and they could cause havoc within the Democratic Party. But they won’t, because Nancy Keenan [pictured right, with Obama] and Cecile Richards value their own personal position in the veal pen pecking order WAY too much to take that risk. For them, what’s good for the Democratic Party is good for choice, even when the party abandons them….
But let’s be clear about this. The only reason that we are in [this] position… is because Planned Parenthood and NARAL have allowed it to happen. They collect millions of dollars in revenue each year. They’ve exacted no price… and focused instead on anti-choice Republicans who are only empowered by their ire. They have no scalps. There is no price for crossing Planned Parenthood and NARAL. It isn’t a fight that the Democrats want to spend “political capital” on, and these groups insure that they don’t have to.
Forget about the fact that more Americans are now anti-choice than pro-choice for the first time since Gallup has been polling the issue. More and more Democrats in Congress each year are anti-choice. It’s acceptable now….
The national Planned Parenthood organization listed $126 million in assets in 2007. Cecile Richards [pictured left] made $385,163. The state chapters whose employees put their lives on the line so women can have the right to choose deserve support and protection within the Democratic party that she is not providing.
NARAL paid Nancy Keenan $145,538 from the Foundation in 2007, which listed total assets of $4,119,329.
If they really cared about going after Stupak or Kaptur as a lesson to the rest, they most certainly have the resources to do it….
One can only imagine what would happen if pro-choice supporters started calling them. In short, Stupak and his fellow anti-abortion demagogues within the Democratic Party only get away with this because NARAL and Planned Parenthood let them….
Ace!
Someone, please help me.
And please use language even a fifth grader(homeschooled of course) could understand.
What is the point of this article(s)?
If you do not have the numbers required to do what you want to do, then what has that to do with ‘effectiveness’.
I guess you could bribe, blackmail, extort or outright kill the oppostion (figuratively or literally) but the ergo and eco nomics have that kind of drastic solution is inefficient at best.
You guys ‘won’. You remind us often enough.
Quit blaming other folks for your failures.
You’re making liberal/progressive/humanists look bad.

Ken, think they’re suggesting throwing out the democrats who are pro-life.
Homeland chief warns against anti-Muslim backlash
(AP) – 1 day ago
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates — The U.S. Homeland Security secretary says she is working to prevent a possible wave of anti-Muslim sentiment after the shootings at Fort Hood in Texas.

Wait a second.
Shouldn’t missy Napolitano be working to prevent Jew hating mass murderers and serial killers from killing shooting American soldiers in America?
Missy napolitano should take a lesson from the copette who took immediate and lethal action against the Jew hating American born muslim who opened fire on unarmed fellow soldiers and civilians.
Calamity Jane responded effectively with no regard to any backlash she might incur from the poltically correct artificial flowers who wring their collective hands and knit their furrowed brows in feined indignation while the blood of the victims has not yet had time to dry.
The wackos are at war with us, but the liberal leftist loons insist we are not at war with them.

I actually mailed thank you cards to Stupak and Pitts.
But, in reality, I don’t believe that this bill will get through Congress in any form unless there is some measure preventing federal funds from paying for abortions. Maybe not this one exactly, but something. Otherwise, I think it’s a dead bill.

“Ken, think they’re suggesting throwing out the democrats who are pro-life.”
————————————————–
Yeah, that would be an effective strategy….from a ‘republican’ perspective.
Declare ‘Broken Arrow’ and call in an air strike on your own position.
Or as the cajun wrasslin in a tree with an angry bobcat responded to his fellow coon hunters on the ground when they refused to shoot because they were concerned they might hit him.
“Shoot up amongst us. One of us needed some relief.”
HAL,
Thanks for your readers digest condensed version. You do know how to conserve words.

Ken,
LOL.
Ken, I didn’t say I agreed with them. I really don’t see abortion rights in much jeopardy, so I’m a lot more tolerant of opposing viewpoints.
Hamsher’s anger is completely misdirected.
The first person she should blame is Rahm Emmanuel for implementing the strategy of supporting “conservative” democrats’ campaigns, thereby obtaining the congressional majorities. DINO’s, if you will.
And then she needs to ready-aim-fire at President Abortion. He was the one too concerned in getting this ball-and-chain passed, regardless.
I think PP and NARAL are doing the right thing: Hold their guy’s feet to the fire. He did, after all, announce in September that no federal funds would be used for abortions.
Who ya gonna blame now?
One of the victims at Fort Hood was pregnant. Please remember her and ALL the victims of this horrendous, cowardly act in your prayers.
Wow… them’s fightin’words!
I’m particularly struck by Hamsher’s line:
“If they really cared about going after Stupak or Kaptur as a lesson to the rest, they most certainly have the resources to do it.”
Going AFTER?? As in, what, make up some dirt to throw at them to cause scandal, or what? This woman is so full of hatred it’s scary. I have to feel sorry for a woman so heavily invested in the unrestricted killing of babies. What a sad soul.
I also sent letters of thanks to Stupak and Chris Smith. They need to hear from the folks who appreciate their resolve to stand up for LIFE.
“He did, after all, announce in September that no federal funds would be used for abortions”
——————-
Yeah, Carder…Pres. Abortion AND all the pro-aborts were ALL saying that Federal Funds for abortion are not found in the Healthcare bill…so what are they complaining about???
Even PP’s Cecille Richards with her smug smile stated there were NO Federal funding of abortion in the current bill…and she was wondering what has all the pro-lifers up in arms about.
Were they LYING/ Mis-informing the public when they were saying that????
What do you think??

My apologies. I did not mean to imply that you ‘agreed’.
On another note:
If you did belive ‘abortion rights’ WERE in jeopardy, would you be any less tolerant of opposing views?

Good question. I would hope not, but when the stakes are raised, it would require more effort.

Fort Hood Gunman Had Told US Military Colleagues That Infidels Should Have Their Throats Cut
By Nick Allen in Fort Hood
Published: 5:00PM GMT 08 Nov 2009
Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the gunman who killed 13 at America’s Fort Hood military base, once gave a lecture to other doctors in which he said non-believers should be beheaded and have boiling oil poured down their throats.
He also told colleagues at America’s top military hospital that non-Muslims were infidels condemned to hell who should be set on fire. The outburst came during an hour-long talk Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, gave on the Koran in front of dozens of other doctors at Walter Reed Army Medical Centre in Washington DC, where he worked for six years before arriving at Fort Hood in July.
—————————————————-
One does have to wonder what kind of PC, don’t ask/don’t tell ‘code of conduct’ kept someone from reporting Hasan’s outspoken opinions from being reported/investigated by the Army.
infidel= ALL non-muslims.
Ask any muslim to define ‘infidel’.
Or better yet go on line and refer to the Quran/Koran.

Why attack NARAL and PP?
Haven’t these folks figured out, or are they just unable to accept, the fact that Obama sold them out? That their feminist icon Nancy Pelosi dances on the end of Obama’s string. She allowed the vote on the Stupak Amendment. Do they think any of this happened without Obama’s knowledge and blessing?
Face it folks, Obama is throwing PP and NARAL under the bus, right along with you! You’re unleashing your ire on the wrong people and that suits Obama just fine. You served your purpose by supporting Obama and with your contributions. And this is how he says “thanks”.
Oh, please give Rev. Wright our regards. He’ll be somewhere under that same bus.
Ken, I don’t understand why Major Hasan didn’t come to the attention of authorities. I wish they’d spend more time investigating things like this than whether Arab linguists are gay.
“The military previously confirmed that seven translators who specialized in Arabic had been discharged between 1998 and 2003 because they were gay. The military did not break down the discharges by year, but said some, but not all, of the additional 13 discharges of Arabic speakers occurred in 2004.”
Ken, think they’re suggesting throwing out the democrats who are pro-life.

And to think the Pravda media claims the Republicans don’t want moderates in their party. It seems the DemocRATS are doing all they can to push their party as far left as they can.
Request a prayer to end abortion.
http://www.ourprayersforyou.com
Phillymiss, good eye. Just posted on that.
Whats funny is that people kept insisting that abortion would not be covered and that it wasn’t a concern and then when we start securing that abortion not be covered so it won’t be a concern they start bitching about how its not covered and it’s a concern.
Maybe we better hold the celebration.
The whole Stupak Amendment may well have been a ploy by Nancy Pelosi to get PL and Blue Dog Democrats to vote for the bill. Apparently there will be every effort made, possibly successful, to remove the Amendment once its in the Senate.
If she hadn’t used this ploy she would have used another.
Obama also prep talked reluctant Democrats into voting for this bill by assuring them it would not cost them their seats in 2010.
Well, maybe Obama will pull NARAL, PP, and NOW out from under the bus and throw these Democrats under instead. Once he gets the bill, they can rot for all he cares.
Regarding the Ft. Hood disaster, I remember reading in one of the MANY newspaper articles I’ve read about it, that some people who might have reported MAJ Hasan did not do so because they were afraid of being accused of some variety of discrimination on the basis of religion/race.
Hi army-wife,
If a bunch of abortionists had been gunned down instead of soldiers, there would be a hue and cry over a nationwide conspiracy. No one would have an issue with PL people being blamed and accused of being part of some terrorist conspiracy. Why PL rhetoric caused this massacre! We’d hear conspiracy theories ad nauseum from Keith Odorman and Rachel Madcow.
Is Obama sending federal marshalls to protect our troops like he did for abortionists after one lone schizophrenic gunman, who was not even involved with PL groups, shot Tiller? At the time Tiller was shot an army recruiter was shot by a Muslim convert. Were federal marshalls sent to protect recruiters?? Did anyone wail about a Muslim terrorist conspiracy?
In fact army-wife, around the time Tiller was shot a group of 5 summer schoolchildren were gunned down in Detroit. Do you recall hearing anything about this? I don’t recall that federal marshalls were sent to protect summer school children in Detroit.
This double standard and rancid hypocrisy makes me furious.
Hi PIP,
LOL. I had to read your post a couple of times to make sure I had it straight, but point well taken!
More and more Democrats in Congress each year are anti-choice. It’s acceptable now….
Sing along with me now, everybody:
Oh….
suffer in yer jocks,
oh suffer in yer jocks!
Heigh ho the dairy-o
oh suffer in yer jocks!
Yes, I’m anti-choice, are you?
Well, maybe Obama will pull NARAL, PP, and NOW out from under the bus and throw these Democrats under instead. Once he gets the bill, they can rot for all he cares.

Sure he will throw the democrats under the bus, just as he did with Deeds in Virginia and Corzine in New Jersey. Yet the White house spin is that Barry had nothing to do with their defeats, even though Barry practically moved to NJ in an effort to get Corzine re-elected.
So Barry has no hesitation in throwing other Democrats under the bus if it serves his purposes. He’s never to blame for anything, but he is quick to take “credit” whether he should or not.
He’s beginning to make Jimmy Carter look better all the time.
Hi Joanne,
Carter was a totally inept president but at least I can say I believe the man had ethics and a sense of morality. I can’t even say this much for Obama. He’s a thinking machine void of morality, i.e. a sociopath. Anytime you overlook someone’s sociopathy, you do so at your own peril.
Mary,
Wasn’t Carter pro-choice?

Here we go again…..
Hi Marie,
If memory serves me correct he was a real fence sitter. I believe NRL cmte. made a comment that he deserved all the splinters he got sitting on the fence on the abortion issue.
The man was inept, but I think he tried very hard to be liked, a nice guy, and not offend anyone. Not a position one can take as a leader.
Obama is out for power and doesn’t give a hoot what anyone thinks or who he throws under the bus.
I think the man is totally devoid of morality.
Hi Hal,
Truth hurts, doesn’t it?
I think the Senate will vote-down the bill, on the grounds that it is far too much money for far too little benefit.
But Stupak-Pitts is an interesting preview of future restrictions coming to abortion. It would have been a significant push to make termination a cash-only business, like plastic surgery.
Bad for patients – very lucrative for the doctors.
Dhalgren,
I hope you are right about the bill being voted down.
About the Stupak Amendment, I still have to wonder if this was a clever ploy by Nancy Pelosi/Obama to get the bill passed, or Obama throwing supporters under the bus to advance his agenda.
Why do people say “abortion rights” why don’t they say, “the right for a mother to kill her baby” That is what it is. Murder. The right for a mother to kill her baby inside her body. Not only kill, but dismember before her child takes it’s first breath.
tj,
You’re right. Maybe they use word play to cover up the truth and not make it seem “as bad”. I don’t know why they do that either.
Obama is out for power and doesn’t give a hoot what anyone thinks or who he throws under the bus.
I think the man is totally devoid of morality.

Hi Mary!
Here’s a thought..WHAT IF Obama really isn’t the rabid pro-abort he looks like. WHAT IF he could care less about the abortion issue and just plays off like he does for the big bucks/support from NARAL & PP? I’m not saying he “could be” prolife, but with his track record (especially with BAIPA) who does that? And why?
Ken, I don’t understand why Major Hasan didn’t come to the attention of authorities. I wish they’d spend more time investigating things like this than whether Arab linguists are gay.
“The military previously confirmed that seven translators who specialized in Arabic had been discharged between 1998 and 2003 because they were gay. ——————————————————
HAL,
Did you not consider that it might just be that it is still more acceptable to discharge people from the military because they are homosexuals than because they are Jew hating muslims who have evidenced behaviors that might call their fidelity to their oath of enlistment into question.
This is the same reasonthe TWA makes granny and her grandson submit to ‘random’ searches of their luggage and inspection of their shoes. If they get accused of racial profiling for also singling out ruddy skinned arabic speaking men, then they can point to granny and junior as evidence their searches are ‘random’.
I personally do not like the ‘PC’ games. Just enforce the existing regulations equaly. But if it is easier to discharge wackos who are also homosexuals for being homosexuals then go for efficiency of effort. Get the job done.
Otherwise you have a socially and politically protected class of people like Nidal Hasan and you can’t deal with them til after they have killed 13 and wounded many more of their fellow soldiers.
If only Hisan had publicly criticised B.O., he would proably be enjoying the accomodations at Quantanamo and he would never have had the opportunity to wreak the havoc he did.
yor bro ken
So, when is Obama going to address homosexuals in the military? I hope that this situation improves- soon.
And I’m so sad about this shooting (since it’s been brought up on this thread). I’m not sure what provoked it, but, no matter what, fourteen lives have been claimed and many others are affected with this loss. I hope that the families and friends are all right. :(
Abortionists dismember babies for profit. Blood money. Deceived women pay the abortionist to kill her own child. Abortion is an industry. The industry has hijacked the word “choice.” It takes our eyes off of what exactly is being chosen.
A woman’s right to choose……to have her own child killed.
Marie,
I agree that there is a bias at work. I choose not to expend too much energy being upset about it though, because the thing is… I’m used to it – the whole veneration of abortion and abortion providers thing I mean. I think it’s pretty sad that folks in the military are afraid to report an anti-American whacko because they don’t want to get into a “religious descrimination” mess though.
It’s a good thing that the Army doesn’t *need* the President to send extra people to protect us. There are already “protectors” walking all over every post. It’s like stirring an anthill with a stick. The Army can immediately swarm into action whenever necessary. I still feel safer on post than off.
