Jivin J’s Life Links 1-26-10

CBS said it has approved the script for the 30-second ad and has given no indication that the protest would have an impact. A network spokesman, Dana McClintock, said CBS would ensure that any issue-oriented ad was “appropriate for air.”…
It’s amazing what abortion advocates will say about an ad they’ve never even seen. NOW’s Terry O’Neill can’t seem to understand how ridiculous it is for her to make this statement:
Terry O’Neill, the president of the National Organization for Women, said she had respect for the private choices made by women such as Pam Tebow but condemned the planned ad as “extraordinarily offensive and demeaning.”
“That’s not being respectful of other people’s lives,” O’Neill said. “It is offensive to hold one way out as being a superior way over everybody else’s.”
Because NOW would never hold one view about anything out as being superior to the views of others.
Police were called to a hospital late Tuesday after (Christine) Taylor reportedly told a nurse she intentionally fell down the stairs of her home because she wanted to end her pregnancy.

Why dont those groups just buy a pro-choice add and run it? What is all the fuss about? I would love to see a pro-choice add go up against a pro-life add and see which one is more well received.
“It is offensive to hold one way out as being a superior way over everybody else’s.”
Right, because no one ever makes a better decision than anyone else. Everyone and everything is exactly the same. There is no right or wrong…
Hi Kristen,
Excellent point. Why not buy their own ad?
Someone needs to remind these bastions of enlightenment and tolerance that we have something called free speech in this country. No where does the Constitution say we have a right not to be offended.
Are we not told by the bastions of tolerance that if something offends us don’t look at it?
Well ladies, your TV has two controls. One changes the channel, the other turns the TV off.
“No where does the Constitution say we have a right not to be offended.”
Exactly Mary. Interesting though that there are enough frivolous lawsuits based on being offended.
Oh and if you don’t want an abortion don’t have one.
Hate pro-life ads? Don’t watch one.
Hi Carla,
I’m absolutely convinced that there are people who dedicate their lives to being offended as often and as much as possible.
What are they afraid of? If their position is so strong, the ad should have no effect.
Also, Kristen et. al, you’re right, the PA’s say they have so much money and support, they can run their own ad. And offer their own license plates. Or open their own free, crisis pregnancy centers. You get the picture.
Come to think of it, there are any number of commercials I find annoying, insulting to my intelligence, repetitious, and just plain stupid. The mute and channel change on my remote work wonders.
Maybe someone should remind the PA groups to check out their remotes. I’m sure they have “power”, “channel” and “mute”.

Exactly! For instance I will exercise my right not to be offended by watching HGTV instead of the SOTU address. I really do not care to see the POTUS explain his self given B+ to the people he obviously thinks are idiots.
Mary, speaking of commercials, I don’t like the spots for “male enhancement” products. I’m not a prude, there’s just something tacky about them!
Hi Phillymiss,
Especially when they have that Bob with his frozen idiotic smile. Or the guy just looks “different” today so everyone he encounters “knows” its because he’s been enhanced. Yup, first thing to cross my mind when I see a male co-worker.
I love the windex one with the magpies, or are they crows? I think they’re a real hoot.
I don’t even know where to start! I’m just… speechless! A rare thing for me to be.
“It is offensive to hold one way out as being a superior way over everybody else’s.”
This is what’s wrong with our society: that even implying that there is such a thing as right and wrong is “offensive.” Never mind the obvious hypocrisy.
And the “attempted feticide” thing. Why is that illegal while accomplished feticide is not only legal, but a good living for thousands of “doctors”?
These people blow my mind.
Regarding the woman who threw herself down the stairs: the only charge they should even be ABLE to consider is practicing medicine without a license…
God gave Julie Meyer of the International House of Prayer a dream almost two years ago in which He showed her how He was going to finance a spiritual awakening in media.
In it, He explicitly showed her that CBS was going to get in line with His agenda. Here is the text summary of the dream and here is the video of her presentation from May 8 of last year.
It sounds a little wacky but I guess a lot of spiritual things do. You can’t deny that she predicted that CBS would buck the liberal establishment in media.
Could it be that God really does exist and that He loves mankind and is pulling out all the stops to save us from ourselves?
I think they should stop airing Budweiser commercials. Who do they think they are to be telling me that Bud is better than my beloved Miller? It makes me so mad every time I see one of those commercials. How offensive those Budweiser people are. They don’t even *care* that I like Miller.
I think Tebow’s going to be ok…if he plays good football, he can do pretty much whatever he likes in his spare time and the NFL will leave him alone. I’m pretty sure the NFL isn’t too worried about a bunch of feminist groups boycotting Sunday afternoon games!
Didn’t Princess Diana throw herself down the stairs during her early pregancy with William?
Apparently she was upset over Prince Charles’ indifference to her.
I would think any woman who does this for any “reason” has some very serious mental health issues, and yes that would have included the late princess.
Hi Ed,
With all respect to you and your beliefs, I would think CBS’s decision has more to do with dollars than the divine. I don’t deny that Ms.Meyer may well have had such a dream and personally I don’t care what motivates CBS.
Super bowl ads go for thousands a minute and I don’t believe too many MSM stations are in a position to turn down this kind of moola. That’s the reason I’m convinced they are thumbing their noses to the PAs, not out of any sudden development of strong PL convictions.
Hey Mary,
I’m sure you’re right. But just because they’re motivated by money doesn’t mean God’s Hand isn’t in it. In fact, that was one of the key points of Julie’s dream, that God was going to underwrite various media projects that would promote His Kingdom.
I think both aspects of this Super Bowl add are significant. The fact that there is an open door in MSM for the PL message is a significant breakthrough. And the fact that Christians care enough about Life to pay for the ad?
Way cool.
“By offering one of the most coveted advertising spots of the year to an
anti-equality,
anti-choice,
homophobic organization,
[You would think these folks are referring to the KKK, American communist party or Al Quaeda.
Next thing you know they will accuse Tim and Pam of hating apple pie and baseball and forgetting to remember the Alamo.]
“CBS is aligning itself with a political stance that will damage its reputation, alienate viewers, and discourage consumers from supporting its shows and advertisers,” the letter said.”

I am going to go way out on a broken limb with saw in hand and suggest that ‘IF’ Pam and Tim Tebow were
promoting safe sex,
gay marriage,
and obama hellth scare,
the silence from these duplicitous bimbos would be deafening.
Boy, these NOW cows are a bunch of sour pusses.
Don’t go a knockin on their door on Halloween!
It will be trick……….or trick.
No treat there.
Just rusty coathangers and bobbin for poison apples.
If them feministas can’t stand the heat, they ought to stay out of the coven.

Hi Ed 4:49PM
You’ll get no argument from me. Who can know for certain either way, right?
Ken,
ROFLMBO!!!
You have a gift my friend.
You should do Christian stand-up.
You got it Mary.
I guess we’ll know one day…
In the mean time, it will be interesting to see if other things she saw in her dream will come to pass.
Thanks Ed, but you should not encourage me.
It annoys HAL.
Well actually…..I annoy HAL.
My amateurish attempts at humor are just the ants at the picnic.
I have got to visit Seattle and annoy HAL in person.
I know that GOD will arrange the devine encounter if I can just find a reason to go to Washington State.

Recently Pat Roberston shocked the world by saying the earthquake in Haiti was caused by a deal made with the devil hundreds of years ago.
When questioned by the loyal members of the lame scream media the devil said, quote: “Obama made me do it!”
The ACLU will be representing the devil in his trial later this year in New York City.

B.O. has created thousands of new jobs, for repo men, debt collectors and grave diggers.

In other news Hawaii wants to create a new holiday commemorating the birth of B.O., the first alleged Hawaiian president.
Similar holidays are expected to pop up in Kenya and Indonesia where they will celebrate by killing infidels!
————————————————–
In order to get a new hellth scare bill passed in the U.S. Senate before the new year several ‘sweetheart’ deals were made.
A ‘sweetheart’ deal is euphemistic way of saying, ‘buying votes’, kind of like calling a titty bar a ‘gentlemens club’.
For example former governor and current U. S. Senator from Louisianna Mary Landrieu accepted three hundred million dollars for her vote which makes Mary one of the highest paid prostitutes in U. S. Senate history!
————————————————–
Finally, after suggesting that B.O. present his birth certificate to the public then CNN correspondent Lou Dobbs and his wife were shot at outside their home in New Jersey.
Police are looking for a light skinned bi-racial male speaking with a negro dialect and praying in arabic, last seen in the back of large black limousine with tiny American flags on the hood.

Ken,
“I am going to go way out on a broken limb with saw in hand…”
That’s all it took to crack me up. The rest was pretty funny too.
Hi Ken,
You may want to check Bill Clinton’s Harlem office. A light skinned Negro who can speak in a Negro dialect when necessary, was last seen fetching coffee for Bill Clinton.
What? They’re so for “CHOICE” that they forget that women do make a CHOICE for LIFE. Is LIFE not a CHOICE? And we wouldn’t have a Heisman winner, would we?
They’re just mad because they can’t see beautiful story behind this “Choice” for LIFE
Mary @ 6:35,
I must need new reading glasses. At first glance, I thought you were suggesting that Ken “check Bill Clinton’s Harem office”.
Hi Janet,
LOL. Good comeback. :))) Easy to see how such a misreading could be made!
This claim is so stupid:
“By offering one of the most coveted advertising spots of the year to an anti-equality, anti-choice, homophobic organization, CBS is aligning itself with a political stance that will damage its reputation, alienate viewers, and discourage consumers from supporting its shows and advertisers,” the letter said.
I think that CBS knows who its viewers are. Especially for the Super Bowl, during which they can charge a gazillion dollars for an ad. In fact, I’d be quite surprised if CBS didn’t know more about its viewers than the so-called Women’s Media Center.
Hint: Angry feminists are probably not a large part of the pro-football-watching audience….
You can email Sean J McManus at CBS. I just did.

Hey, I thought you lived in Washington State? You’re annoying me less these days. (slightly less ;) )

Mary,
Then my purpose driven life is to seek these out these miserable masochistic souls and validate their ‘raison d’être’.
I will do my best to do my duty to offend them early and to offend them often.
Artificial flowers such as these need to be showered daily with comments designed to arouse their false indignation and leave them stunned….. but not speechless.
We all need the commic relief to be derrived from their Scarlett O’Hara, “woe is me!’, whimpering and whining.

“Hey, I thought you lived in Washington State? You’re annoying me less these days. (slightly less ;) )”
————————————————–
‘Lived’ as in past tense.
Endured and Survived Washington State would be more accurate. Moving there from Texas was a cultural shock. Took some gettin used to. Changed me for the better. Made me more appreciative of the differences and more grateful for my own social, political, and spirtual roots.
Beautiful country, met some really nice folk. Still have dear friends there.
All five of my children were born in Bellingham, [not the end of the earth, but you can see it from there] Washington.
Once spent a three day weekend with several other pro-life activists enjoying the austere accomodations and crude cuisine of the King County jail compliments of the tax payers of the Emerald City.
Recieved an up close educational experience, some teachable moments, in how the ‘n’ word is utilized in polite conversation without being ‘politically incorrect’.
First rule: The lips uttering the ‘n’ word have to be just as dark as the ears that are hearing it.
After 72 hours in that culture I was as desensitized to the ‘n’ word as I was to the ‘f’ word.
After a while they both lost their shock value.
Unless the police only arrested the poster boys for ‘bruthas in the hood’, they were not stereotypical, they were representative of the dysfunctional culture that produced them.
The highlight of that weekend was when the jailers made the mistake of attempting to place a flaming homosexual black male in our ‘pod’.
The jailers quickly realized their mistake and removed him and put in a private room or they released him. I never saw him again.
He was ‘literally’ the odd man out.
I was not threatend by his presence and would not have minded sharing the cell with him, but the other guests were not quite so hospitable in their attitudes.
One young man did engage myself and my fellow pro-lifer and as a result met Jesus. I was more the supporting actor in that little drama. I still remember the fellows name. He got caught with a bunch of master keys for the parking meters in downtown Seattle. Multicolored hair of differing lengths. He was down with our fellow guests til he quietly received Jesus.
Immediatley his former associates began to ridicule him about his hair. Even before they knew he had been born again.
I asked him if they had commented on his hair previousl. He said no. I told him it was evidence he had defected from the dominion of darkness to the kingdom of God.

“First rule: The lips uttering the ‘n’ word have to be just as dark as the ears that are hearing it.”
What’s the second rule?
Quite a while back a pro-choice-to-kill-babies commenter said something about how sometimes a woman will make the pro-life choice and sometimes the pro-choice choice…
We all know what pro-choice means, and it’s not that all choices are equal. It’s that killing babies is a choice to be celebrated, and usually that’s the choice they want everyone to make.
Speaking of feticide…
I was reading recently about a woman being charged with “attempted abortion.” She tried to kill her husband’s mistress’s child with an abortion drug, but instead the baby was born two months prematurely. Crazy woman has since tried to kill the newborn by pretending to be the mom and giving the hospital poisoned breastmilk and calling and asking them to turn off the baby’s life support.
