Pro-life group One More Soul hosted a unique fund-raising event Saturday called Dancing with the Pro-Life Stars.
New Executive Director Jenn Giroux called on many of her pro-life friends to make an appearance, and we were glad to help. Read more about the event at Pro-Life Action League’s blog. Here’s a group shot (click to enlarge)…

and I drove to Cincinnati from Chicago. After we were well on our way, I realized I left my purse – and driver’s license – in the other car. Oh, well. We decided nothing would happen and I drove on.
Rich, Lila, Bobby and I drove to and from the event together. On our way back to the hotel – at 1 a.m. – I accidentally turned the wrong way on a one-way street and had to turn back around – with a car full of young pro-lifers following us.
Bobby Schindler, Jill Stanek.jpgWouldn’t you know, a cop was at the stop light watching the entire time. He followed us to the hotel, and I thought this was the big one, I was going to jail.
But our clean-cut youngsters, led by John-Paul Deddens, head of Students for Life of IL, greased the skids for us, chatting with the officer until we walked up. By then he knew we were not drunks, just lost out-of-towners, and let us go.
Or maybe it was the cookie Bobby offered him. Not sure. Anyway, I escaped disaster – God graciously allowed me to avoid a well-deserved consequence that night!
