Dancing with the pro-life stars
Pro-life group One More Soul hosted a unique fund-raising event Saturday called Dancing with the Pro-Life Stars.
New Executive Director Jenn Giroux called on many of her pro-life friends to make an appearance, and we were glad to help. Read more about the event at Pro-Life Action League’s blog. Here’s a group shot (click to enlarge)…

And yes, we danced! I learned the Electric Slide even.
On the right side is first a photo of Bobby and Lila, then one of Bobby and me.
Rich and I drove to Cincinnati from Chicago. After we were well on our way, I realized I left my purse – and driver’s license – in the other car. Oh, well. We decided nothing would happen and I drove on.
Rich, Lila, Bobby and I drove to and from the event together. On our way back to the hotel – at 1 a.m. – I accidentally turned the wrong way on a one-way street and had to turn back around – with a car full of young pro-lifers following us.
Wouldn’t you know, a cop was at the stop light watching the entire time. He followed us to the hotel, and I thought this was the big one, I was going to jail.
But our clean-cut youngsters, led by John-Paul Deddens, head of Students for Life of IL, greased the skids for us, chatting with the officer until we walked up. By then he knew we were not drunks, just lost out-of-towners, and let us go.
Or maybe it was the cookie Bobby offered him. Not sure. Anyway, I escaped disaster – God graciously allowed me to avoid a well-deserved consequence that night!

Gosh. Is it really, totally, and fully a pro-life party if Randall Terry isn’t there?
Great photos and story. We will eagerly await a group dancing video for an upcoming Lunch Break. :o)
I have to say it. Lila Rose is really cute. Just saying…
You said it, Psalm, she’s gorgeous!! Some man will be very lucky some day!
What a beautiful prolife crowd!!
And Lila’s as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.
Thanks, Carla!
It was great to meet you at the event, Jill! And that’s my brother-in-law, John-Paul. He’s always saving the day!
“And Lila’s as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.”
I’ve been very impressed by her whenever I’ve heard her talk. Youth, beauty, poise, intelligence and true femininity. (Gloria Steinem in her heyday only wished she looked this good!)
I’m glad hers is the youthful face of the pro-life movement.

Praise God for good leadership…and I have to say, that John-Paul from Students for Life of Illinois is a real go-getter! God-willing, these young adults will continue to respond to God’s call to be instruments for the Gospel of Life!
John Paul Deddens is such a baller..
