Congressman to probe whether taxpayers are funding telemed abortions
Aside from the controversy over the legality and safety of telemed RU-486 abortions, Iowa Republican Congressman Steve King wants to know if federal tax dollars are financing it.
Rep. King is currently circulating a request to colleagues to sign on to a letter he will soon send to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius asking whether taxpayers are underwriting Planned Parenthood’s expansion of telemed technology, such as computers and phone lines. Congress allocated $11.6 million to HHS for Fiscal Year 2010 for its telehealth program.
Following is the “Dear Colleague” letter. Please encourage your congressperson to contact Rep. King’s office and sign on in support. Click to enlarge….

“Death by Skype” what a pathetic idea. Only the “Dead Babies R Us” crew could come up with such a terrible idea. I will contact my congressman. Those MDs involved in this, how are they going to know exactly how much blood loss a woman is having? How do you medically evaluate whether she is hemorrhaging? How are you sure you got all the babies parts? Does the woman examine the body parts herself ? Who takes the liability when she has post-partum hemorrhage, infection, etc. I have seen D & Cs for medical purposes done under anesthesia in the OR. Do you know the intensity of cramping and bleeding it would take to dislodge a healthy baby embedded in the endometrial lining of a woman’s uterus? The retching, vomiting and cramping alone would be horrible, sitting in front of a computer camera is unimaginable. God help us. It’s ok pro-aborts, don’t bother, you are fine with this I know. These are rhetorical questions.
ProLifer – the woman who is aborting goes through an interview process with an off-site physician who pushes a magic button and dispenses the pill out of a computer terminal the aborting woman is sitting at in her Iowa Planned Parenthood abortion station.
She then takes the pill(s) and has her abortion alone. I call it a “chemical coat hanger.” I cannot get past the fact that the same people who made up stuff about “back-alley abortions” to get their barbarous murder of unborn humans legalized think it is okay and actually “progressive” to send a woman home to deal with the death and expulsion of her tiny baby, along with the associated vomiting, cramping, excessive bleeding and horror that go with it. Alone. No one shares the culpability with the mom in a Telmed abortion. It is hers. Alone. Planned Parenthood has seen to it with this demonic turn of events.
States would do well to enact laws immediately requiring medical supervision and monitoring of all RU-486 abortions, raising the standard of care to where it would be for any other such medical procedure (if anything can be compared to this). Such laws would seriously subdue this barbaric practice, I am sure.
Plus, the woman is always going to be able to see her baby (or parts of him or her) as delivered – whereas she is almost always shielded from this in the clinic. I could barely listen to Carla’s video description of delivering the 11-week old girl she miscarried into her hands. I can’t imagine the anguish of a woman who knows she is doing this on purpose. Barbaric and demonic indeed. The people who came up with this do not care about women. Period.
There will be payback. I believe this practice is going to make women more aware and hasten the day when they rise up and put an end to the abortion madness. Maybe some of the architects of this will actually be put in jail.
Yes, I mean you, Madame Secretary.
A woman made a youtube video after seeing her fully formed 10 week old baby after an RU486 abortion. She filmed her child to warn others of what might happen when they deliver their babies at home alone. Of course, youtube took it down.
Women WILL SEE their babies!! Are they told of this possibility?? There is no mistaking the humanity of your own child. Wake up, women!!!
I thought abortion was between a woman and her doctor??
Call me cynical, but asking Secretary Sebelius about funding for abortion is about the same as asking the fox to count the chickens in the henhouse. Despite dollars being fungible, the abortion lobby (slowly becoming PPA alone) and their political pawns will be as evasive as always.
Carla & Lori – you both need some sleep!
I thought I was on graveyard shift last night?? :)
Carla, lol.
Carla, the woman who had her YouTube video taken down (no surprise) could put it on the pro-life version of YouTube. I haven’t viewed that site in awhile….is it still up and running? Of course, the people who really NEED to see the woman’s video would never go to the pro-life channel. :(
I emailed her but got no response. It was so powerful!! In her own words she described her at home abortion and what it was like to SEE her baby! She had the presence of mind to document that sweet little baby in photos and at the end talked about wanting to bury her baby.
Her passion to spare other women was evident!! Her baby looked just like the baby I miscarried into my hand. Precious.

Removed for SHOCKING and DISGUSTING content!! How it comforted me to know that someone else has seen their baby and had the same reaction I did!!
Thanks for the info Amy1, Lori and Carla. This “Death by Skype” is despicable and straight from the pit of hell. God help us.
Congressman King is right to inquire about this. I will be contacting my congressman to ask him to sign on.
