“Sex in the City” star to portray liberal feminist Gloria Steinem
I’m grateful that she wants to do it so much, because of the subject matter – because she understands how important sex trafficking and forced prostitution is.
And Linda Marciano’s story can happen to anyone. And that’s my role, I believe, in the movie to say that. So I’m very honored that she wanted to do it….
All I was thinking about was Linda. It didn’t dawn on me that she was playing me…. I think that Sex and the City was one of the few pop cultural admissions that friendship among women is crucial and that has really continuing appeal.

eeeeeewwwww……it figures. dont these women have casual sex on sex in the city and then talk about their abortions. i will never understand how SJP stayed popular in acting. im going to try to be nice today.
BLEH.
I could never understand the appeal of this show. I thought it was stupid. I did watch it a few times, though, and during one episode that old one — I think her name was Samantha — was trying to seduce a friar. That was really in poor taste, and I’m not even Catholic.
philymiss i saw that one but i dont watch the show. i also remember when samantha did nude pics of herself so she could look back on them when she was old… lol heres a tip. if you dont look good naked then dont pose for naked pictures. they were gross! the only reason i watched it was because a girl i used to babysit for had no tv so i watched dvds they are all so disgusting. and samantha is an old tramp. ick ick ick.
the only attractive woman on this show is the one with the dark hair. just my opinion. anyway who on earth would want to play old nasty gloria steinem? shes is her 70s and she got married and she quoted ” choice is great. im still in charge of my choices and i chose to get married.” i wonder how her husband deals with her. thats one pro abort who has never regretted her abortion. she disgusts me. how many women have aborted due to this lost abortion pimp? how many women has she hurt? i pray for her but i find her disgusting!!!!!!
I saw part of one episode of SITC. Cynthia Nixon’s character was arguing with her husband(boyfriend?) and she sat their baby on the couch. They got so caught up in their argument, they were ignoring the baby, and he fell off the couch onto his HEAD!
That was enough for me.
i imagine sjp will babble on about womens healthcare ” under attack ” or maybe shell do what demonic moore did and act out the part where demi had the illegal abortion on a kitchen table with a kitchen knife. maybe she will play an abortionist like cher??? i couldnt ever find any evidence that moore had an abortion but cher did.
I didn’t know that (about Cher having an abortion) until you posted, heather. I Googled “Cher abortion”, and I found an interview where she said she had an abortion right before she had her son, Elijah. Yet, she also said before she had Chastity, she had FOUR miscarriages, and when she was pregnant with Chastity, she had to stay in bed the whole pregnancy (so she wouldn’t lose her).
How do you go through all that and STILL have an abortion???
Talk about a mental/emotional/spiritual “disconnect”!
hi Pamela….i read chers bio and that is where i found out shed had an abortion. however i didnt know about her miscarriages or the problems that followed. the book didnt go into any of that! wow! anyway demi and cher made a movie together about abortion together. i surfed the web and i could not find anything about moore aborting. i dont think she did…..but anyone who supports it is just as bad. moore was quoted as saying ” abortion is a very hard and emotional decision to make. its painful yet a woman has to be brave and choose either to have the baby or not.” i wonder how she knew so much about it. BUT of course its a difficult decision when it comes to killing your offspring.
We’ve gotten a TAD off the subject of the thread. ;)
true……idk who would want to even play wicked witch gloria s. strange. i hear jennifer aniston adores her. since shes managed to flop as an actress perhaps shed do well playing an evil part!
Yeah. And look where that got Aniston. Lost Brad Pitt because her career meant more to her than having a family with him, and now she’s DESPERATE to have children because she squandered all the time she had.
GIRL POWER, AMIRITE?
Jill. You should put up the positively horrific, brazen and deeply sad photo of Gloria smiling in her I Had An Abortion t-shirt. It’s a sight that will always haunt me as she strikes an ‘in your face’ stance so we can all read the words written across her chest.
So now the feminist mothers are looking to engage in a little self-praise, directing their own hagiographies where their filth will be scrubbed clean by Hollywood glamour and glitz. Whatever the legacy Gloria and Co. leave on celluloid their true legacy, 53 million and counting, awaits them at the Judgement in Heaven; where every vestige of falsehood and self-deception will be seared away in the Light of Truth.
Yeah, Gloria. It’s so touching to have such sisterly friendship on Sex in the City and to have a movie about a woman strong-armed into porn. But where’s all the sisterly concern for the 30 million little girls who were strong-armed by their mothers - and you - right out of their lives?
I think Parker should play Lovelace. But then again, this is probably just going to end up glamorizing porn and sexual ‘freedom.’
They should title this movie after the song of the same name:
‘No one wants to die in the valley.’
As if abortion solved the problems porn and sex slavery caused-as PP knows, the 2 go hand in hand.
It will probably portray Steinam as a fun-loving madame.
Art imitates life, once again.
Hmmm… For any of those South Park watchers out there… Isn’t it poetic justice that the transvestite donkey witch is playing the bra-burning feminist rabid harpy? Gloria Steinem is a reprehensible human being, and Jennifer Aniston (SJP as well) is just as much for supporting her. Ugh. I will avoid this movie like the plaque.
