Pro-life news brief 7-23-12

- In England, Sarah Catt has pled guilty to administering poison with intent to procure a miscarriage after buying misoprostol (the second drug used in RU-486 abortions) online and allegedly taking it within a week of her due date.
- In Indiana, a woman has been arrested for helping to kill her grandchild and cover up her son’s crimes. Kacy Heath allegedly helped transport a 15-year-old girl to Granite City, Illinois for an abortion after her 21-year-old son impregnated the teen:
Heath… is accused of paying for the abortion and furnishing identification for the girl so she could have the abortion.Police said [Heath’s son Steven] King was arrested in April for sexual misconduct with the girl and is held on bond in the Gibson County Jail.
- 24-year-old Tonya Reaves (pictured left) from Chicago is dead after having an abortion at Planned Parenthood:
Tonya Reaves died Friday after she began to hemorrhage, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Her death was ruled an accident. The pregnancy and “cervical dilation and evacuation,” which is a technical term for abortion, that she received at the Planned Parenthood clinic, 18 S. Michigan Ave. were listed as contributing factors in her death.
The victim’s twin sister told WBBM Newsradio that her family is demanding answers.
“It happened so fast,” said Toni Reaves. “She was just fine one day – and then the next day she was gone. We’re just trying to figure out what happened.”
Tonya’s death leaves her 1-year-old son without a mother. Planned Parenthood couldn’t issue a statement of condolences without a note from their PR department.

First let me say, I am sorry for this family losing 2 family members, the loss of this young woman and her baby (mutilated and destroyed in her womb). This is horrible!!
But I also say that good old “safe, legal, and rare (opps they don’t say that anymore) abortions” not only ensure every woman the right to a dead baby but it just might include her own death as well.

So the woman in England most likely gave birth to a breathing child. Taking the drug would not likely kill the full-term baby so how did she kill her child?
The fact that her husband is fine with this is appalling. The fact that her older children saw their mother heavily pregnant and yet no sibling appeared is equally horrifying. This is the natural progression of the abortion mentality. If it is okay to kill them in the womb at 9 weeks then it is okay to kill them in the womb at 39 weeks. And okay to kill them at 9 years. Whats the difference? We can justify killing other humans at every stage of development.

Indeed, Sydney.
Arbitrary distinctions have been made to placate the social atmosphere surrounding the killing of unborn children, all to satisfy the personal preference of those willing to carry this out (as well as the greed of those looking to profit from it).
Why should we be surprised when this is proven to be non-self-limiting?
After all, they’re already moving in from the other end of the spectrum with euthanasia and assisted suicide.
There may yet come a time when no one’s right to life is protected from the preferences of others, all in the name of a perversion of liberty.

(Denise) Great Britain doesn’t have a death penalty. When it did have a death penalty, executions were performed by hanging.

Hate to break it to you but Britain doesn’t have capital punishment – unlike the civilized (!?) US. Here, in “god’s country,” pro-lifers condemn abortion as murder whilst approving of state sanctioned murder vis-a-vis the death penalty. And if abortion is re-criminalized, the women who procure illegal abortions could face the death penalty.
Their god is a vengeful god…

CC,
1. Women were having illegal abortions prior to Roe v. Wade….NONE of them got the death penalty.
2. If abortion IS made illegal again, the ABORTIONISTS would be punished, not the women since, if abortion was illegal again, the abortionist would probably not keep any record of said illegal activity, so no one would know who the women even ARE.
3. The Death Penalty is for CRIMINALS ….someone guilty of a CRIME. A pre-born baby is not a CRIMINAL.
Keep mocking Him, CC..
Galations 6:7 :Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

@ CC & Pamela: Yes, it is true that girls and women getting abortions were rarely prosecuted when it was illegal. What would be the point? Their “punishment” was what they went through in the illegal abortion.
Abortionists were prosecuted and imprisoned but even they didn’t get the death penalty or prison sentence comparable to those meted out to murderers.
Let’s live in the real world, shall we? Yes, girls and women will suffer at the hands of back-alley butchers if abortion is criminalized but nightmares of executions are sci-fi material.

You’re right CC. And I think CC is already reaping a little of that harvest she has sown with her obvious bitterness and loneliness.

“Their god is a vengeful god”…
Just what do you suggest we do with mass murderes and serial killlers who are NOT insane?
I agree with the self evident truth that all humans are created equal in the sight of GOD and the law. But I also agree with the revealed truth that those self same humans can forfeit their right to life when they commit a capital crime.

“Planned Parenthood couldn’t issue a statement of condolences without a note from their PR department.”
Oooooh. That gotta sting just a little. Might even leave a mark. The pp whore might wanna consider puttin some ice on it before it swells.
My only suggestion for improvement would be to subsititute ‘legal departemt’ for ‘PR department’.
ClenChed’s most probable equivocation would be, ‘No harm, no foul.’
That is essentially what she/he/it spouts evertime that a cusotmer dies in the pp whore house.
The ever present possibility of being killed is an inherent risk when you seek to do business with a known assassin.

D & E abortions are done in the 2nd or 3rd trimester.
From “Abortion, Complications” (http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/795001-overview)
“Postabortion complications develop as a result of 3 major mechanisms as follows: incomplete evacuation of the uterus and uterine atony, which leads to hemorrhagic complications; infection; and injury due to instruments used during the procedure.
Frequency of complications depends on gestational age (GA) at the time of miscarriage or abortion and method of abortion.
Complication rates according to gestational age at the time of abortion are as follows: …
• Second trimester – Up to 50%, possibly higher
Mortality/Morbidity
Mortality and morbidity depend on gestational age at the time of miscarriage or abortion. In the United States, mortality rates per 100,000 abortions are as follows: … 16-20 weeks, 14%; and more than 21 weeks, 18%.
Sounds like those evil “anti-choicers” may actually be protecting women’s health when they pass those laws banning abortions after 20 weeks gestation and require abortion centers to be licensed as ambulatory surgical centers.
One problem with the abortion rights advocates is that their ideology interferes with good judgment.

What family would NOT be ashamed if the dead body of the mother or father or son or daughter was discovered in a brothel?
Would Tanya Reaves family be any less humilitated if her exsanquinated corpse was found in a back alley with a rusty coat hanger in her cold dead hand?
But everything is cool cause she and her pre-natal child died as a result of a ‘safe and legal’ abortion performed by the hands of a ‘professional’.
‘There ain’t no props and creds in dying like a fool!’

Your premise assumes facts not yet, nor likely to ever be, in evidence.
Idiotology aside, the ‘dead babies r us’ mob has never demonstrated any ‘good judgement’.
“good judgement’ is defined by wisdom, virtue, justice, mercy, compassion, truth and, most of all, selfless love.

I’m sure there’s more to that story about the woman in England. Of course, I’ve never known you people to wait until you have all of the facts before passing judgment (and condemning the woman to the electric chair! How very “pro-life”!).
However, as was stated above, no European country has the death penalty anymore. I know it must irk you all to no end that you can’t personally kill this woman and deprive two children of the opportunity to grow up with their mother because, you know, you’re “pro-life”…

GGal,
What exactly is the point of your post. Is it that you are sure there is more to the story but just don’t know what it is yet or is your point that Europeans outlawing the death penalty for convicted killers and you believe that makes them more pro-life then the Americans even if Europeans mutilate pregnant women and murder the babies in their wombs?

I would say Ireland is definitely more pro-life then the USA. It is a tremendous achievement that they are in the middle of the Europe and they are still pro-life as a nation. History will see them as enlightened. The Pro-aborts that are against the death penalty for killers are just spineless.

“I would say Ireland is definitely more pro-life then the USA. It is a tremendous achievement that they are in the middle of the Europe and they are still pro-life as a nation.”
And Irish women who want abortions either get on a plane or ferry and traverse the Irish sea to Britain, Wales, and Scotland. And yeah, the death penalty for a woman who tries to self abort is so very “pro-life.” (And you wonder why your movement is mocked and loathed?)
And if abortion is recriminalized there will have to be a penalty for the woman because she is guilty of a crime. Crimes have attendant penalties - that’s part of the whole criminal justice thing. Thus, if you say there should be no penalty, then you’re really saying that abortion isn’t an offensive meriting treatment by a court. If abortion is recriminalized, women will (and should) be charged with a criminal offense. If your excuse is that they were “manipulated” into the abortion, then the same could be said for any other crime. And that’s why your assertion that women won’t be charged in your ideal world is ludicrous.

Interesting. GGal condemns all pro-lifers based on one blog comment she read, which (in no coincidence) has 0 likes at the time of writing. In the same post, she implies that pro-lifers don’t “wait until [they] have all of the facts before passing judgment”.
My brain hurts.

CC’
Penalty for woman would be mandatory counseling and mental health treatment similar to what is now given to people with suicidal tendencies.

CC: It isn’t so much that the pro-life movement is ” mocked and loathed” as Truth is mocked and loathed by those who are blind to it.

Hi peoples,
Maybe, just maybe ALL the folks that have written here are making some foolish statements because they falsely assume that ‘they know’. Dr. Patrick Dunn decades ago found that there was a typical pattern to a woman”s moods during pregnancy. THE FIRST DEPRESSION begins at 8wks and peaks at 10wks. 80% of all abortions are done here. THE SECOND DEPRESSION begins at the 3rd trimester and slowly WORSENS until birth. (The last few weeks of this ‘depressive period’ are worse than the FIRST PERIOD.) After the EUPHORIA-birth (likely due to endorphin-release) a THIRD PERIOD OF DEPRESSION begins. It starts precisely where the 3rd trimester depression left-off, but it slowly worsens, often becoming SUICIDAL. [IMHO, Depression is not a period of rational thought, so any kind of ‘punishment’ would be counter-productive.] It is the famous post-partem depression. [Because Dunn’s graph is an ‘average’, individually each woman need-not follow this pattern exactly. There will be high’s & lo’s.]
Since discovering this gem, these ‘depressions’ follow precisely the role of zinc in development-maturation. IF THIS IS THE CASE, then there is a 4th development stage that impacts on the abortion phenomenon. The 4th stage is PUBERTY. Any teen needs zinc for their own development. A pregnant teen is a shoe-in for this pattern, if her zinc needs + those of her offspring are not met.

Abortion’s recriminalization doesn’t HAVE to mean the girl or woman is prosecuted. They were rarely prosecuted in the old days when it was illegal. The penalty is the abortion itself.

CC, do you have any kids? and do you like born babies?

“Penalty for woman would be mandatory counseling and mental health treatment similar to what is now given to people with suicidal tendencies.”
The mental health community does NOT agree that seeking an abortion is suicidal ideation. Next.
And to Denise’s question:
I am proudly childless by choice. As far as “born babies” I have no emotion invested. I do, however, believe that “born” babies should be protected by law.

thanks, thats what I thought.
“I do, however, believe that “born” babies should be protected by law.”
why though, they can really be a burden. Why should I be forced to care for my born baby?

CC,
“The average annual suicide rate per 100,000 women was 3.0 for delivering women, compared to 7.8 for aborting women. The national average suicide rate for women between the ages of 15 and 44 is 5.2 per 100,000 women. This shows that aborted women have a higher suicide rate than women in general, while giving birth actually reduces women’s suicide risk.”
There is definitely increased suicidal ideation in post-abortive women.

I’m so confused about the UK woman murdering her child, she was so close to delivering, just make an adoption plan!
ggal/CC: I’m pro life in all facets of life. I would defend your right to live at 9 weeks gestation, after you admit to killing someone I love in cold blood, and at age 75 on full life support.
Every life is a potential testimony of His Grace.
CC : Im sorry you are alone. I said a prayer for you tonight.

I bet the “Hope” Clinic in Granite City, IL was all too happy to abort the 15 year old from out of state’s baby and send her home with the 21 year old boyfriend for more sexual misconduct. It’s not like abortion mill-workers take being mandated reporters seriously. I wonder if they can even find social services’s number or the child abuse hotline. We all know they have the police department on speed dial, so they can complain about pro-lifers.
