- Republican senators in New York plan on blocking Governor Andrew Cuomo’s abortion legislation:
The Republican leader of New York state’s Senate said Tuesday that he will block any abortion proposal from Gov. Andrew Cuomo, whether it’s to allow later-term abortions or protect current standards.“Expansion of late-term abortion is extreme, in my opinion. It’s not progressive, it’s extreme,” Senate Republican leader Dean Skelos said Tuesday.
- The New York Times has an article on Tuesday’s events in the Kermit Gosnell trial which repeatedly uses the term “fetus” to describe the born-alive children Gosnell is accused of killing:
A Pennsylvania judge on Tuesday threw out three of seven murder charges against a Philadelphia doctor charged with killing viable fetuses while performing abortions….Bryan Kemper, youth outreach director for Priests for Life, an anti-abortion group, said he was “obviously frustrated” with the judge’s decision. Mr. Kemper, who traveled from Ohio to attend the trial, said he was convinced that Dr. Gosnell had deliberately killed live fetuses.
“It makes no sense to me that he could snip the back of the neck of a baby that was not alive,” Mr. Kemper said during a break in the hearing.
- Today, Judge Jeffrey Minehart (pictured left) corrected the charges which he threw out. Apparently, he confused some of the babies Gosnell is accused of killing:
On Wednesday, Minehart clarified that he did not intend to dismiss charges related to Baby C, which former employee Lynda Williams admits killing after it was alive for 20 minutes.Instead, Minehart has thrown out the charges involving Baby F, which allegedly jerked its leg after it was born. Another staff member says Gosnell then cut the baby’s neck to “ensure fetal demise.”
- Trevin Wax imagines a Planned Parenthood press release responding to Gosnell:
The actions of Dr. Gosnell and the atmosphere of his clinic for reproductive health do not represent the experience of women who visit Planned Parenthood for access to birth control and other reproductive services. Here are some important differences to keep in mind:
- In abortions after the first trimester, Planned Parenthood physicians never “snip the necks” of babies outside the womb. We take great care to make sure that the snipping happens inside the birth canal moments before birth, not after.
- Unlike Gosnell’s clinic, Planned Parenthood clinics do not have jars of baby parts or toilets overflowing with fetal remains. We make sure that the fetuses we dismember and extract from the womb are placed in sanitary medical bags and properly disposed of.

This is so filthy and disgusting to read! We all KNOW those babies were alive. WE know what that creep did!

Gosnell is 72. I hope he repents. Life is but a vapor. Eternity is a long time to burn in hell. May God have mercy on your wicked soul Gosnell.

Heather, concerning the three tossed charges, the prosecution has to prove its case for each one of them. The judge felt the prosecution did not for the three.
Gosnell is on trial. He deserves no less nor any more justice than anyone else in this country.

The judge is so eager to throw out charges against Gosnell that he doesn’t even throw out the right ones. Gosnell deserves justice under our legal system like any other criminal, yes. But he does not deserve to get away with murder. What Gosnell did to all of these babies, he did outside of the womb. Legally, that makes them all illegal and thus murder.
All the distracting nitpicking about whether the babies kicked when they were murdered or were alive for 20 minutes before they were murdered means nothing. Outside the womb = murder.
This judge seems to be trying to make a name for himself by making this a landmark case that opens the door to legalized infanticide.
Cases are not supposed to be made or broken on the feelings of judges, but on the law. The law is clear.
This is not justice. And this judge will be held accountable for his choices just as Gosnell will be held accountable. It may not happen in that court, but that court is not the end all of justice that this judge seems to think it is.

Let’s wait and see what happens with Gosnell. Maybe the judge was being prudent. If there was doubt that some of the babies drew breath (due to damage from storage and weak eyewitness testimony), yet the remaining cases are clear-cut, reducing the number of victims may expedite finding Gosnell guilty. The reports say he is still eligible for the death penalty in the remaining cases.
Yes, it would be nice if Gosnell were found guilty of murder for all 7 babies, but whether it’s 4 or 7, it doesn’t even come close to accounting for the thousands he’s really murdered.

Have you ever hit a squirrel and watched it suffer and die? I brake for squirrels but unfortunately I have killed 2 in my life sadly to exit my car to watch them suffer a few minutes and die. It happens and both times were accidental but nothing could stop them from their demise. Made me feel terrible. However Gonsell knows he killed these breathing babies intentionally! Not accidentaly but intentionally!

Sadly Gosnell was practicing “healthcare ” when he killed these innocents. Unlike a dead animal in the rd. someone will come and take away the remains. Nobody’s going to take the dead babies so he just tossed human life in a freezer or a trash can or wherever. At the very least he could have cremated the remains.

Anyway if one of your family members died would it be okay to throw them in the trash?? Heck no! Unless you’re some sort of psycho.

He should also be charged with abuse of corpses.

Heather he was originally charged with corpse abuse. I believe those were among the charges dropped along with the murders. Nope, all those chopped off feet are not corpse abuse. :(

Really Victor?? Sheesh if that’s not abuse of a corpse idk what is.

So would I Heather. Of course, would anything be corpse abuse to those who believe making murdered corpses of innocent helpless children is okay?

As hard as it is for me, I pray for Gosnell. I end up near tears and sick at my stomach but if he repents it’s worth it. Even he doesn’t deserve Hell and I abhor every thing he did. Those were innocent babies.
oh and a small correction, I don’t wish Hell on him. Technically we all deserve Hell.
