Stanek wkend Q: Is San Antonio’s new mega-abortion center the pro-life movement’s fault?

sanantonioIn response to my October 21 post, “Pro-life activists infiltrate Planned Parenthood mega-abortion center under construction,” Abolish Human Abortion has written a “we told you so”:

We are not bragging about this or simply saying we told you so. But the fact of the matter is this, these big state of the art killing centers that Planned Parenthood is building all over the country are the unintentional (yet iniquitous) fruit of the pro-life movement.

Pro-life stand-off at The Alamo

On the heels of showing the reality of abortion last week on a huge, video-streaming JumboTron at the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia - where the term “created equal” was penned by our Founding Fathers - pro-life group Created Equal was blocked in San Antonio yesterday from erecting the same display at the Alamo.

This was a clear violation of Created Equal’s constitutional right to free speech – content based discrimination.

At the last minute City officials claimed Created Equal’s JumboTron violated city code regarding digital signs, but the city had previously approved jumbotrons for a Floyd Mayweather boxing event (kudos to ksat for pointing that out to the city) and a Glenn Beck Tea Party rally (starts at 1:26).

Furthermore, Created Equal had followed the letter of the law and city ordinances in preparing to show images of abortion victims at the Alamo. I will detail the chain of events below, but here is video laying out the drama yesterday:

The location of Planned Parenthood’s new mega-abortion clinic in San Antonio, Texas, was kept a closely guarded secret until October 11, when Planned Parenthood of South Texas CEO Jeffrey Hons gave a reporter from San Antonio Express-News a tour of the facility, now in the latter stages of construction.

The existing 22,000 sq ft building, located at 2140 Babcock Road, is being renovated at a projected cost of $6.5 million, up from $5 million just 7 months ago. Love those overruns.

Yesterday, pro-life activists from Created Equal and Love of Truth Ministries were able to enter the two-story building, around which there were no “No Trespassing” signs or fence, to conduct their own inspection, with video camera in hand. Here’s what they saw…

Pro-life blog buzz 10-14-14

  • American Life League’s Judie Brown contrasts the indifference toward the slaughter of 3,000 humans daily by abortion in America to the outcry over the euthanasia of an Ebola patient’s dog in Spain. Brown is a dog lover, but even she was shocked at the huge response to save the life of one animal:

Here is the first sentence of a news report that came to my attention recently: “With more than 3,400 people dead in west Africa and 7,500 infected in the latest Ebola outbreak, 300,000 people sign a petition demanding action… to save an infected dog.” This was twice as many people as those who signed a petition demanding a cure be found for the deadly virus….

As it turns out, the dog was “put down” Wednesday by Madrid’s regional government. But the fact of the matter is that the plight of this one pet generated more interest and involvement than a single preborn child threatened and then killed by the act of abortion.

There is something dramatically wrong with this picture.

Why the selective outrage over showing abortion victim images?

by Kelli Before the release of footage of one football player slugging his wife, he received a two game suspension. Later, when the footage revealing the actual strike was released to the public… people became disgusted. The slugger was punished twice for the same offense… [and is] no longer allowed to be a part of […]

Infighting: Edgy abortion group flusters other abortion groups

Stop Patriarchy pro-choice pro-abortion rally

It’s too early to tell whether pro-abortion world is imploding, but there sure have been plenty of fireworks lately.

I’ve written two posts in recent days on a new phenomenon – abortion groups publicly challenging the big kahuna, Planned Parenthood, something heretofore unheard of.

Stanek weekend question: Is the abortion battle becoming increasingly “corrosive”?

Pro-choice professor Mireille Miller-Young steals pro-life signs showing victims of abortionI have sensed for some time that abortion proponents are becoming increasingly and overtly hostile to pro-life activism.

An immediate example is UCSB Professor Mireille Miller-Young, photo right, who this week pleaded “no contest” to charges that she assaulted a pro-life teenager and stole her sign.
