Abortion is to pregnancy what penicillin is to syphilis
Rabble Pro-Choice received this comment:
“Abortion is a treatment for pregnancy”
I’m pro-choice, and even I know that’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.
Rabble took issue with that, comparing antibiotics that treat STDs to abortions that “treat” pregnancies:
…It is a treatment for pregnancy. When a woman experiences a pregnancy she has two options:
She can continue the pregnancy and give birth to a child
OR
She can terminate it.
If someone gets an STI they have two options:
Ignore it and probably die or have various appendages start falling off, have brain aneurysms, etc.
OR
they can get obtain medication that can either manage or end the STI.
I don’t know a lot of people who choose to be martyrs and allow their chlamydia to ravage their body because they are opposed to medicine. So why should a woman who does not want to be pregnant have to keep her pregnancy because someone else doesn’t think it’s “right”?
The only problem is pregnancy is not a disease. It’s a amazing biological process only possible in women, which matures their unique, individual offspring. To equate pregnancy with STDs only demonstrates ignorance of disease, science, and biology.
It is true that Rabble’s “treatments” kill both. Well, certainly the baby although not necessarily the STD, since there are some STDs for which there are no cures. But that’s another topic.
I thought liberal feminists had moved away from comparing pregnancy to diseases and parasites, since they have come to realize this offends the general public they hope to persuade.
Rabble must not have gotten the memo. That’s ok. Keep talking, Rabble. Your reckless callousness are examples why your diseased position is losing support.
It certainly doesn’t help their claims to say a child in the womb is parasite, considering science proved years ago that the child is not a parasite.
As a mother of four, I am appalled.
Pregnancy is the NATURAL result of sexual intimacy between a man and a woman. STDs are NOT.
Pregnancy is NOT A DISEASE!
Her heart is diseased.
Plus, I have never heard of somebody ignoring a pregnancy and ending up having various appendages start falling off, have brain aneurysms, etc. so the analogy falls flat on its face without any analysis at all.
Pregnancy is not a disease state, but a natural phase of life.
Abortion support is a mental disorder.
Comparing pregnancy to an STD, or any other kind of disease, is a clear symptom of Baby-Reproduction Derangement Syndrome.
There is no cure for such a violent, virulent disease as abortion-itis.
Strange, I thought STD’s were caught through sexual intimacy. Are diseases not a natural phenomenom?
No William, abortion support is not a mental disorder.
But you are right about one thing, abortion support will never be ‘cured’.
When a woman get’s pregnant, her body is doing what it is designed to do by nature. The continuation of a pregnancy is to allow a process her body does naturally. And doing so is a part of health.
When a person contracts syphilis, their body is not continuing in a state of natural health. It is not doing what it was made to do, as is the case with pregnancy. Was the body designed to be a host for syphilis?
Attacking syphilis with antibiotics restores the body from a state of unhealth to health, from a state for which it was not designed back to that which nature intended. Attacking the fetus by abortion does nothing of the sort. It ends a healthy, natural state and violently and unnaturally ends a natural process for which the woman’s body was designed. In fact, the violent ending of a pregnancy through abortion often harms the woman’s body in many ways. And it puts her at significantly higher risk for breast cancer.
So, the killing of an unborn child, the violent ending of a natural and healthy process, and the introduction thereby of multiple causes of physical and psychological harm to the woman, has nothing in common with treating a disease. That anyone could equate the two demonstrates how unthinking and irrational, and unscientific, the pro-abortion activist mindset can be.
well the analogy doesn’t even work based on her wording.
She talks about obtaining “medication that can either manage or end the STI”
unwanted pregnancies can also be “managed” so that the woman can cope with the pregnancy and the baby can be born.
I agree with Scott. This woman’s heart is diseased, along with her soul. That’s a lot tougher to cure than any STD. :(
Infertility is considered unnatural. My cousin and his wife have been trying to conceive for YEARS. I would love these dumb pro-choicers to tell them “You can’t conceive? You’re CURED! Thank goodness you’re not at risk for the disease of pregnancy and parenthood!”
So I release an ovum every month for what purpose exactly if not to get pregnant? I have a uterus and have to put up with annoying periods…. why again? Why does my body produce hormones designed to make my womb a welcoming place to a newly conceived human? Its all part of a disease, is it? Well gee, thanks for attacking the unique biology of women and making it a disease.
What a bunch of morons. Truly. This will pop into my mind every time a pro-abort sneers “We have science on our side! you pro-lifers are not scientific!”
Scott and Angel, great insights.
The disease comes AFTER the delivery, when the pro-aborts begin to mold young minds.
Back when the controversy erupted over the contraceptive patch, I heard a doctor on TV say, “If you’re worried about the patch, see your doctor, but don’t take the patch off, because YOU RISK PREGNANCY!” Let’s see, Pregnancy or Stroke? I’ll take the Stroke, thanks. I think the idea of Pregnancy as Medically Treatable Malady is in part borrowed from the availability of contraceptives.
“Regina ”
Having both been pregnant and having had a TIA, I’d take the pregnancy. As fun as it is to have your body go numb and your speech come out in jibberish, I’d take the new life.
I’m thinking pro-aborts might come up with some treatment for going to the bathroom after eating all the food you want. Because dang it, sometimes it’s just not the right time to go to the bathroom.
Aren’t diseases things that we want to eradicate? We don’t want to prevent ALL pregnancies, I hope. Perhaps Rabble Pro-Choice has some connection to the voluntary human extinction movement.
Pregnancy is a “disease”, hmm? Well..three and a half years ago, I guess I didn’t get “cured” in time. That 4 pound “tumor” that resulted sure is PRETTY! ;)
Their analogy is pretty sickening!
The more they continually link pregnancy to a disease to be eradicated the more they raise the ire of mothers and fathers who cherish their children!!
Keep it up, proaborts!! Continue to insult mothers and fathers and see where it gets ya!!
And we’re extreme??!!
:) Cranky, that was classic! (You seriously need to come out with an omnibus version of quotes, so that I don’t have to save a text file with them…)
“Strange, I thought STD’s were caught through sexual intimacy.”

Not if you’re in a faithful, monogamous and heterosexual relationship….you know, like what a true marriage/relationship should be.
Pregnancy is a “disease”, hmm? Well..three and a half years ago, I guess I didn’t get “cured” in time. That 4 pound “tumor” that resulted sure is PRETTY!
The seven pound tumor I delivered is now a lovely, prolife 22 year old!
Ha ha! Phillymiss, I also had a seven pound tumor and he just started pre-school! And I love him DEARLY!
Cranky Catholic, I love it! I hope pro-aborts can invent a pill or procedure to do away with those pesky bowel movements! Sheesh, being human is sooooo demeaning. God just didn’t know what He was doing when he designed our bodies to effectively eat nourishment, eliminate waste, reproduce tiny replicas of ourselves, blah blah blah. Every natural function of our body is a DISEASE!
All of this Rabble-babel makes me wonder what goes through these peoples’ minds when they send off a Mother’s Day card to the loving women who decided to give life to them.
Supporting abortion on demand for any reason allows them to hide their true motives. They don;t dare say out loud now what Margaret Sanger did when Planned Parenthood started.
Every time they see a child with down syndrome, they don;t see a child. They see a “future burden on taxpayers” that should have been “eliminated.”
Britain’s NHS does everything they can to coerce women into screening and then abortion if the baby is found to be “defective.” Is that what this crowd wants here?
Who would have thought that the movie Gattaca would become a plan outline for the left.
Ha ha! Phillymiss, I also had a seven pound tumor and he just started pre-school! And I love him DEARLY!
Sydney
Seven pounds and some change seems to be a common weight for babies nowadays. My son was preterm and only about three pounds. He is 19 now and pretty short.
Preschoolers are adorable, but they can be a handful. Good luck and have fun!
Seriously, I think the people who compare pregnancy to STI’s are pretty extreme and not in the mainstream of the PC movement. We don’t like being called clinic bombers. Let’s try not to stereotype.
Every time they see a child with down syndrome, they don;t see a child. They see a “future burden on taxpayers” that should have been “eliminated.”
I’m shocked at how many people dislike and even hate people with mental or physical handicaps.. Awhile ago there was a clerk in the supermarket who had a speech impediment. He might have had a mild case of CP. Anyway, the woman behind me looked at him in disgust and shook her head. Hey, at least the guy was trying to make a living and not be on disability. I don’t see him in the supermarket anymore.
Did you hear about the case of the missing 10 year old girl in North Carolina? She had bone cancer and a prosthetic leg. Her stepmother may have killed her, and there is some talk that her body was placed in a wood chipper. Here’s the link. Poor little girl.

Strange, I thought STD’s were caught through sexual intimacy.
Not all STDs. A few are spread by skin-to-skin contact. I got one from a drinking fountain at Disneyland when I was 3. You can’t get pregnant from that.
Furthermore, anyone of any age can get an STD. Only a woman who has reached puberty, has had her period, and has not yet reached menopause can get pregnant.
‘Not if you’re in a faithful, monogamous and heterosexual relationship…’ – and how would a faithful, monogamous homosexual relationship incur an STD?
‘you know, like what a true marriage/relationship should be.’ – who’s true? Why? Says who? I would say ‘how medieval of you’ but they weren’t all that good at adhering to your view of relationships either.
Lauren,
I sincerely hope and pray that you’ve had no further vascular incidents and that the rest of your life will be filled with the joys and fruitful challenges of motherhood.
Your testimony today was powerful.
God Bless
off-topic, but I LOVE the ad for personhoodUSA! Go baby!
“– and how would a faithful, monogamous homosexual relationship incur an STD?”
———————————————-
There is no such thing as faithful, monogamous, homosexual relationship.
Why do you think HIV is so high in the gay lifestyle?
You are quite wrong RSD.
And once gays are allowed to marry they will probably become even more monogamous, just like heterosexuals did.
The pro-aborts seem to forget that they were once unborn babies – as was everyone who is walking on this planet. The unborn are not members of a different species, diseases, tumours, or parasites; they are human beings in the earliest stages of development.
STDs are not humans; they are viruses and bacteria and are fundamentally different from us. Babies who have yet to be born are babies who will, hopefully, grow up to be lovely adults and parents themselves. They do not morph from tumour, disease, or armadillo into babies once they are born or wanted; that’s just ridiuclous anti-science posturing.
