- Watch as Mollie Zeigler Hewingway and Amanda Marcotte discuss abortion on BloggingHeads.tv.It’s almost unbelievable how ignorant Marcotte is. Her views on Live Action’s videos are just off the wall. She thinks the LA people posing as young girls looking for abortions or posing as a pimp act “ridiculous” when they’re at the Planned Parenthood clinics and that all the PP clinics realized the pro-lifers were acting (maybe she should have waited ’til the videos came out to comment).
Amanda also acts like “door widths” are a stupid requirement for abortion clinics, apparently unaware that emergency workers had a larger amount of difficulty removing Karnamaya Mongar (who eventually died after getting an abortion from Gosnell) because the doors at Gosnell’s clinic were too narrow. I think the most telling part of the video comes at around 12:00 when Mollie asks Amanda if Down Syndrome counts as a valid reason why a woman would “need” a post-24 week abortion. Amanda stumbles around for minutes with numerous “you knows,” “likes,” and “ummms.”
- Not Dead Yet discusses how a recent pro-assisted suicide documentary won a prestigious film award:So, it’s not a shocker that a bunch of folks in the film trade would go head over heels for a documentary that sounds an awful lot like a PSA for legalization of assisted suicide. In other words, the award probably tells us more about the judges granting the award than it does about the film itself. I doubt I’d lose any money if I bet that the judges were predisposed to approve of legalized assisted suicide, and when the film preached at them, they didn’t recognize it as a sermon.
- VA Gov. Bob McDonnell has proposed a budget amendment which would ban taxpayer funding of embryonic stem cell research.
- Researchers have found that induced pluripotent stem cells retain “memory” of their past:In a side-by-side comparison of these induced pluripotent stem cells and embryonic stem cells, researchers from the Salk Institute in San Diego found a consistent pattern of reprogramming errors – places where the iPS cells did not revert completely to an embryonic state….
In some ways the iPS cells were different from one another, suggesting the reprogramming process itself might contribute to aberrations, he added.
That does not mean iPS cells can’t be used in medicine, experts said. Improvements in technology could one day erase their epigenetic memory.
Marcotte put door widths (that could mean easier access for emergency works with gurneys) on the same level as flowers in the front yard.
I have yet to hear pro-lifers complain about whether or not an abortion clinic had flowers in the front yard. We might’ve commented on a statue, but I never heard any of us (at least on here) complain about a lack of flowers (although not taking care of the grounds can send the wrong message to people, but that isn’t the POINT).
If the PP worker knew it was a sting WHY did she give business “advice”? Why did she give her information to the person? Why did she act like she was going out of her way and tell the people how to lie on the paperwork and to the doctors/nurses? Why didn’t she just excuse herself saying “I’m going to get you a form” and called the authorities? If PP always knows it’s a sting and LiveAction is so obvious why is it every time something like this comes up the person gets fired or PP is like “Well we didn’t know so and so was doing this.” They don’t check up on their employees? They don’t do background checks? They don’t ask them or talk to them about situations? I mean I don’t know the process, but they seem to do a lot of back-pedaling everytime LiveAction comes up with a new video and then say they knew it wasn’t a real client. I’m highly confused about that. If pro-lifers are so dang obvious, then why don’t they bust the people who come in? Why don’t they alert the authorities right away instead of waiting until something hits the fan?

Don’t the PP workers seem awfully COMFORTABLE with the whole scenario that is told to them?? They acted quite experienced.

Down Syndrome fetuses – no problem aborting them. Actually no problem aborting any fetus as it’s the decision of she who carries it. You know, your holy breeder.

HMM, CC…what if researchers come up with genetic test for homosexuality…you know, just like many gays love to tell the world that they’re born gay, that it’s not a “choice” to be gay, which implies a genetic component?
So if a prenatal genetic test is developed for sexual orientation, what would be your thoughts on aborting if the baby tests positive for the “gay gene”, or if the baby tests as being “heterosexual” for that matter, for parents who just have to have a “gay child”?

That would be up to the women carrying the child. None of my business what folks do with their organs. But liberal women would have no problem with a gay child. It would be those who view homosexuality as a terrible sin, who would have some soul searching, lol! And if parents didn’t want a hetero – whatever.

It is none of your business CC when it comes to abortion but totally your business to say that women have more kids than they can afford??
btw My husband and I have four kids we can’t afford but that is really none of your business.

So, CC you believe that a fetus is an “organ” of the pregnant woman, so the pregnant woman “has” a penis for nine months if she’s pregnant with a boy? LOL, indeed…now THAT’S funny. I’m sure any embryologist would get a serious kick out of that. Priceless.

Wow, CC, tell us how you really feel about pregnant women!

I have never once from conception to now, nor do I believe I ever will be, an ORGAN. Let alone my mother’s or anyone elses organ! Cripes. This stubborn blind spot concerning the CHILD involved in abortion is so very troubling.
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, just as a person is a person no matter their developmental stage or location.
I was pro-choice when all I was told it meant was “you believe a woman should have control over her own body“, but the day I learned about child development and that “pro-choice” meant pro-abortion “rights” and what that entails…… yeah, I became pro-life reeeaaal fast, and can’t understand why anyone else with a minimum fifth grade education wouldn’t be. Duh.
