Pro-lifers protest Planned Parenthood of Illinois’ “Generations Gala”
On May 5, Planned Parenthood of Illinois held a “Generations Gala: A Celebration of Healthy Families,” at the Chicago History Museum.
So audacious for American’s largest abortion provider to pretend to “celebrate” nonexistent “generations” and “healthy families,” thanks to it. But that’s PP’s schtick: to claim it stands for the very things it destroys.
PPI’s featured guests were actress Kathy Najimi (right) and Dr. Joycelyn Elders (below, left) former US Surgeon General under President Clinton.
Abiding by my favorite mantra, “No justice, no peace,” Pro-Life Action League sponsored a protest of PPI’s event:
Thanks to the League protest, PP’s guests – including National Organization for Woman attorney Fay Clayton, famous for losing the epic NOW v. Scheidler lawsuit in a unanimous 2006 ruling by the US Supreme Court – had to face the truth about abortion as they entered.
Moreover, passersby larned about PP’s central role in the abortion business…
I attended the protest, bringing our New Zealand visitor, Andy Moore, who you’ll see featured in the subsequent video PLAL put together…

I took the photo below to show PPI’s arriving guests could not avoid seeing that which they were about to “celebrate,” try as they might…

Good for you, Jill!
Hi Jill,
I read your blog everyday.
Thank-you so much for fighting for the rights of the unborn.
Thank-you for having the courage to expose abortion for the evil that it really is.
Thank-you for speaking the truth.
Thank-you for carrying-on in your fight against abortion despite the pro-choice movement’s contempt & disdain for you.
Thank-you for keeping the rest of us pro-lifers up-to-date on what is happening in the world in our fight against abortion.
Thank-you for boldly speaking up at the hospital you used to work at when you witness babies born alive after a “botched” abortion.
Thank-you so much for your dedication.
There are so many pro-lifers who love you so much including me.
I read an article a few years ago about Kathy Najimi, and in the article was a picture where she “proudly displayed” the fact that she has the words “PRO-CHOICE” tattooed on her knuckles. In what I see as a bit of “irony”, she has also done voice-overs for children’s programs and cartoons.
“KEEP ARMS AND LEGS INSIDE TAXI AT ALL TIMES”.
Sign seen atop the taxi that Ms. Pro-abort is exiting, in photo above. Sign ensures that arms and legs of passengers aren’t torn-off by passing vehicles. Kind of mirrors the abortion experience of the baby in the large poster being held by the protestor.
Thank God for PLAL.
Why do we need hospitals and clinics when we have PP? *sarcasm alert* Where are the children in this Happy Healthy Family Celebration??? Ugh.
(From her biography at the PP link above, this is so distressing)
“ Dr. Elders stated “I want to change the way we think about health by putting prevention first. I want to be the voice and vision of the poor and powerless. I want to change concern about social problems that affect health into commitment. And I would like to make every child born in America a wanted child.”
She is not advocating health, obviously. The value of the human baby in her opinion depends on pregnant Mom and Dad’s immediate circumstances. Circumstances can change when they are given hope and support to better their future. She is a fatalist; that’s just sad.
And I would like to make every child born in America a wanted child.”
Now – every time I see a statement like that I think of Wanted: Dead or Alive.
Of course, she and Planned Parenthood, wants to see every child a “wanted child”.
BTW – Every child happens to be born – even those who are dismembered. There is a difference between live birth and dead birth. Even so – those children that aren’t wanted by their parents are still “wanted” by Planned Parenthood.
ok – let’s get those children born! All children are wanted by someone! and since she wants to be a voice for the poor and powerless, she should think of coming over to the Pro-Life side.
We want services for the poor. We want to help women and families. We want protection for all humans – born and pre-born. We want help for the powerless, including the elderly, disabled, disenfranchised, abused, oh – and yes – for the pre-born humans.
All part of the human family? Welcome and let us help! ;)
Oopsie! It’s Kathy Najimy. With a ‘y’. I ‘Googled’ it ;)
Wanted:Dead or Alive
Chris Arsenault,
Wow, that pretty much sums it up.
And, according to Dr. Elders, babies are punished as guilty unless given clemency by their by Judge, Ms. Pro-Choice Mom? Where’s the reproductive justice in that…
Ugh, that ‘every child a wanted child’ is so very Sanger-ish. Gross.
People have been using “wanted” as a rationale for killing children that weren’t ‘intended.’ If the child is not intended or wanted, pro-choicers believe, then they want to be able to kill it.
So, in Orwellian terms, children are being murdered for the thoughtcrime of their parents.
How about: every child a living child?
How about: every child a living child?
Hi ninek,
But that would go against the population control mentality of the pro-aborts….that we humans are bothersome inhabitants of this planet. Speaking of Sanger.. before the pro-aborts have a fit (saying her agenda is no longer relevant), they should check out the VERY RECENT Margaret Sanger Award winners (woo-hoo!) on the PP website.
ok – let’s get those children born! All children are wanted by someone! and since she wants to be a voice for the poor and powerless, she should think of coming over to the Pro-Life side.
Thank you for your wonderful post! I agree 100 percent!
I would like to see the audience at the event. I am just wonder if there were any differently abled people there – mentally disabled, people in wheelchairs, etc.

Ninek, I think half of the people on this board, at the very least, were “unintended!”
Back in my day, lol, we called them ”accidents.” I was planned, but one of my “accident” siblings was the favored child: bigger gifts, smaller punishments, and ‘why can you be more like ___’ comparisons. I may have been planned, but I was argumentive, stubborn, while ‘accident’ was more likable, charming, adorable, and very popular in high school. Parents are capable of very astounding and great love for their unplanned children. Whether or not one is planned has no bearing on one’s personality or future, nor should it.
Jill
Ditto what pro-life christian said except during school I have to try to spend more time on school work and a little less time here! You are a wonderful light and if the babies could thank you I know they would. Thanks for being a voice for those who have none.
I am surprised PP didn’t have a Mother’s Day gala too. I could see them handing out discount abortion coupons to the women who already have their allotted two children.
truthseeker
Hopefully there are those at Planned Parenthood that really are concerned about womens rights and are listening to all the studies about the negative impact abortion has on women. Maybe they will find better ways to empower women than helping them to kill their babies.
Dr. Elders and healthy family, both in the same story. That deserves a Nobel Prize for literature.
This is the same Dr. Elders who famously stated that Americans need to get over their love affair with the fetus, and that we need to teach our children to masturbate (not many need teaching).
Healthy families and generations being celebrated with an honoree who did much to cultivate her own peopl’es genocide when she was Surgeon General, by the organization behing the slaughter.
Speechless.
