Planned Parenthood targets Hispanic teens with online sex drama
At the end of the show, viewers are directed to the East Los High website. Planned Parenthood ads plaster the site, along with “resource links” for abortion and birth control…. The show’s Facebook page announces one of the high school girls “doesn’t regret having had sex, she just wished she would have used birth control.”
Even during the breaks in the show, the producers run ads for Plan B one-step morning after pills, with smiling girls saying, “If my birth control fails, I know what to do…. Now no one is going to get in my way.”
The [Hulu] show targets young Hispanics specifically, with the first all-Latino cast in a show of its kind….
Targeting minority populations is nothing new for Planned Parenthood. It has placed 79 percent of its abortion facilities within walking distance of black or Hispanic neighborhoods…. Hispanics currently only account for 21 percent of abortions.
Valerie Huber, president and CEO of the National Abstinence Education Association said the show… continues to spread the message “everybody’s doing it…. But that is not the case. Almost 75 percent of 15-17 year olds have never had sex” and increasing numbers of teens are making healthy decisions to wait for sex.
“You would think, since this show is targeting this age group, they would want to encourage that, not play into the stereotype,” she said.

The depths of depravity…….
Promoting promiscuity is PP’s bread and butter.
“Now, no one is going to get in my way.” Right, I’ll just murder anyone ‘in my way’. :(
I agree, Carla, promoting promiscuity is PP’s bread and butter.
Praying against the message of this show. The objectification and exploitation of young girls by young men and the abortion industry.
Praying it fails miserably and that God will be glorified in the 75% of young people that are abstinent!!
Only good thing I can say about this show is that it’s not a reality show.
Although, imagine if Planned Parenthood did gegt into the reality TV business. That would be pretty scary! It would be too much evil all piled into one concept.
Note how PP chose only lighter-skinned Latinos for their drama. The depths of depravity indeed- the cultural and racial tensions that remain in many Hispanic communities are reinforced telenovela style- the message is lighter-skinned is better, sleeker, sexier. Barf.
BECAUSE THE SEX. MUST. CONTINUE.
Young people must not prepare for future careers or higher education because that might interfere with PP’s income!
Even during the breaks in the show, the producers run ads for Plan B one-step morning after pills, with smiling girls saying, “If my birth control fails, I know what to do…. Now no one is going to get in my way.”
Is the “no one” referred to in this comment supposed to be the young woman’s preborn child?? If so, the message here isn’t anti-pregnancy – it’s anti-child in general.
No clump of cells is going to get in my way.
I’ve only seen the promo commercial for this show a few hundred times on Hulu. At least now I know to vote “No” in the upper right corner where it says, “Does this ad interest you?’
Can this site start a boycutt of Hulu?
I think the point is not to boycott Hulu. The point is to expose the fact that Planned Parenthood and others are pushing sex on kids under the guise of “reproductive health.” This is just another instance that proves it. And the point is also to make parents aware of this.
I am confident that majority of Latinos will not buy into this PP propaganda. For this show to be a hit amongst Latino teenagers, it would have to cast some very well known young Latino personalities. Also, it has been my experience, that the Latino youth continues to be influenced by the Church.
Talk about “putting the fox in the hen house” not just “watching the hen house”. The #1 for-profit Dead BabiesRUs organization in the entire world is going to advertise their “wares” on a sex-saturated show targeting Hispanics. How convenient. Do I hear a cash register ring? (Cha-ching). PP gets to sponsor a sex-saturated show promoting sexual activity to Latino teens, they get to advertise contraceptives and when (not “if”) the contraceptives fail they get to sell them Plan B, and when Plan B fails, sell them a “clean-up our leftovers” abortion at $400 a pop. Will that be cash or credit, senorita? They are so accommodating. I am sure if needed they will even provide someone who is bilingual to take your money. Talk about “win-win” for PP and a “lose-lose” for these teens.
BTW, PCPs have been reporting lots of Plan B being used for birth control and seeing it fail.
