Pro-life billboard towers over Planned Parenthood – for one glorious day
Jackson Right to Life, in Michigan, followed all the rules when renting billboard space next to the Jackson Planned Parenthood.
For one glorious day a pro-life billboard towered over Planned Parenthood’s pathetic little abortion feeder with the simple but powerful message, “Choose Life = No Regrets.”
There was only one problem: The billboard was on Planned Parenthood’s property. Adams Outdoor Advertising had leased the billboard space but forgotten about Planned Parenthood’s addendum forbidding any pro-life messaging.
So just as quickly as the billboard went up, on June 2, it came down the next day. Adams is offering Jackson RTL other locations, and on the advice of attorneys Jackson RTL is accepting Adams’ offer and moving on.
But the snafu was all worth it for the amazing photo op, eh?

If it saved just one life on that day? So worth it.
(And hey, not Jackson RTL’s fault the billboard company screwed up.)
In the Boise Idaho area we have worked to get up Pro-life billboards and bus stops signs. Our billboards move every two months. For one of those periods, we had a Pro-life billboard very near Planned Parenthood. Visit our FB site to see our signs. https://www.facebook.com/TreasureValleyProLifeBillboardCampaign
Jackson RtL is one of the best organizations I have ever worked with. We were so excited to get this billboard, even though it was unfortunatly taken down. The same billboard will be placed in a very visable location in the middle of town.
The Medical Director for this Planned Parenthood is under the moral authority of Archbishop Vigneron since he (Glenn E. Taylor, MD) is a Catholic Providence doctor
It seems to me that if bakers and photographers can be lose lawsuits for refusing to lend their services to homosexuals that they offer to the rest of the public, Jackson Right to Life should be able to sue Planned Parenthood or the Billboard leasing company for inclusion of a contract clause which discriminates against customers of the billboard based on their moral beliefs.
So PP has a special deal that prevents any pro-life messaging from being displayed near their clinic, huh?
Silly me. I thought they were all about “choices.”
(Not really.)
Robert if you agree that it should be fine for business owners to discriminate against customers for being LGBT, then it seems like it’s hypocritical to think that PP and the billboard company can’t decide which advertisements they are going to allow on their property. The laws depend on the state, I believe, different states have different rules about it.
Though I think PP is just showing how uncomfortable they are in their position, I’m not sure it should be illegal for them to have a clause dictating what type of advertisements they allow on their property. I’m really not sure what would be better though, I don’t like discrimination but I also don’t like people not being able to run their business and properties they way they want to.
