Dueling pro-life/pro-death bus tours face off
I wrote yesterday that a desperate Planned Parenthood was trying to sabotage SBA List/Lila Rose’s “Women speak out: Defund Planned Parenthood” bus tour by replicating it with its own “Truth Tour” – holding rallies at 7 of SBA’s 11 stops 1/2 hour before SBA’s.
The first dueling buses meet-up was at Republican pro-life Congressman Randy Hultgren’s office in Geneva, IL, yesterday afternoon. Here’s one of several photos…
CatholicVote.org has more.
Word on the street was PP had to pick up employees from the PP in Aurora to fill in “supporters.” This rumor was apparently borne out in a Beacon-News story from the scene that quoted a PP Aurora staffer speaking at its rally:
The IL PP Truth Team was first, kicking off their rally at 3 pm, in front of a big pink bus that listed statistics on health services offered to women annually.
“The health of the women we serve should not be a political issue,” said Sarah Williams, a clinician who works at Aurora’s PP clinic….
Apparently PP couldn’t find unpaid “supporters” willing or able to speak on is behalf.
And about that “big pink bus,” even those on PP’s side are questioning its Pepto-ness. From PP’s Facebook page…
Come on. Obviously PP is trying to hijack breast cancer pink for its own ends. Fran Eaton of Illinois Review interviewed one ill-informed PP-supporter yesterday who tried to spout the false “PP does mammograms” line, which Fran refuted near the end, taking the supporter quite by surprise…
The bus listed all sorts of stats, interestingly omitting any on the A-word. Click to enlarge…
Live Action and Bryan Kemper have launched a photo contest, “What should Planned Parenthood’s PeptoBus really say?”
Here’s a blank slate to get you started…
And here’s a sample, reminding PP of its missing stat…

Jill,
Is that number correct?? ONLY 5 million abortions for PP??
At 300,000+ abortions per year, that seems kinda low.
i would say to just add the statistics that were on PP’s own report from 2008-end of 2009- on number of abortions, adoption referrals, and prental patients- that in itself will be enough on the bus- and just below all of the facts- then enter in- our birth control is 97% with abortions–that should be factual enough for the public- and maybe a source to prove PP wrong about their mammograms they supposedly do- :)
Re: Fran’s excellent video:
Thanks to the man and woman who took time to express their thoughts. Hopefully they’ll go check out the Live Action videos they said they’ve not watched and start reading Jill’s blog for a more well-rounded education in the area of “reproductive rights”.
I think it’s interesting that the abortion statistic was omitted from the bus. I mean, if they believe they are providing a service to the poor or the middle class, then why aren’t they displaying that number on there, too? I’m curious, how many women did they help have ‘a choice’?
They don’t put abortion on the bus because “it’s only 3% of services.”
SEX OFFENDORS WELCOME!!!!
“5,000,000 unborn children killed since 1970”
“332,000 unborn children killed in 2009 alone”
“30,000 mothers dead from breast cancer since 1970”
SEX OFFENDORS WELCOME!!!!
Millions of dollars from you our tax payers to rip apart babies thanks for the contributions!
Gerard… hold tight… post on that coming…
How much did they spend on that bus?
The PeptoBus should really say:
STAND WITH PLANNED PARENTHOOD
THIS BUS PAID FOR WITH YOUR FEDERAL TAX DOLLARS (LAW CITATION).
That’s what’s been missing from this drama….a car/bus chase! It’s such an exciting time to be pro-life!
Apparently that woman doesn’t believe in scientific evidence…
That guy was so pompous. Before you trump out for PP why don’t you GOOGLE the videos? They are easily watched online. Some people CHOOSE to be ignorant. He just wanted to blow hot air and hear himself talk. What an ego on that guy. He didn’t even know what he was talking about. Defund the military which is a constitutional use of our tax dollars and needed in this dangerous time (HELLO there ARE people trying to kill us!) so that PP can have more money to rip black children apart. Cecile needs to decorate another Manhattan penthouse apartment.
If those two even knew the racist history of PP I don’t think they’d be there gabbing about helping the poor. If they want to help the poor why don’t they buy bulk diapers to give to the poor mothers so its one less thing they have to buy? Oh wait, CPC’s do that. Not PP.
The number of abortions done since 1973 is actually 50 million, not just 5 million. The numbers are staggering and each abortion an evil act. God have mercy on our nation for allowing these places to ever open in the first place.
@ Kristen she probably skipped that day in high school biology. :)
Well, here’s proof positive that PP is most certainly not a charity, as they like to make people think. The bus if full of false advertisements, misleading statements, and notable missing information. Kudos to PP, you now join the ranks of the some of the United States’ most heinous corporations! Maybe you’ll get a bailout too, but here’s hoping you tank. Smooches!
I love the way PP is getting so desperate and frantic for supporters.
Is that the Partridge Family’s old bus with a new paint job ?
I’m probably considered middle class and I don’t feel like defunding PP would be an attack on me and my family…so they obviously don’t speak for all middle class people.
It’s not an attack on middle class families, people…it’s exposing what PP truly is.
I would put down the following on that bus:
“The most merciful thing that a family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.”
-by Margaret Sanger (editor). The Woman Rebel, Volume I, Number 1.
FOUNDER Planned Parenthood.
Sorry, hot pink was the Planned Parenthood signature color long before the breast cancer “pink ribbon” campaign. You’re also wrong as usual about everything else.
@Kristen: My thoughts exactly! How much more scientific evidence do you need? Seriously! They now have 3D images of the babe.
Regarding the well-versed man: I agree that we need to get out of the wars. Military spending is much too high. But what is going unsaid is that we have mutilated, burned with salt and now, in the wake of Mr. Gosnell (who in my opinion doesn’t deserve the Dr. title so won’t be getting one from me), all but decapitated more human beings than all deaths accrued from every single war this planet has seen from the dawn of time through the senseless act of abortion. So to put more importance on the soldiers’ lives (and I don’t want anyone assuming I think the soldiers are unimportant, because that’s not true) is asinine to me.
Vvixen, could you go a little more in depth about how we’re “wrong about everything else?” Facts and logic are always nice.
Wait a minute, Vvixen, are you telling me that the groping they did to my breasts was a mammogram? Hm, I’ve had real mammograms at Kaiser. I think what PP does is a “hand-o-gram” LOL!!
And I guess I better stop telling abortion advocates that the moon isn’t made of green cheese, too, since I’m wrong as usual about everything. Darn, I gotta put a salt lick in my backyard for all those unicorns I’ve been neglecting.
Jeez ninek, I bet you still think that the Earth is round and goes around the sun. You really need to get up to date on your facts.
@Vvixen – I’d love to hear more specifics, too. I mean, let’s have a discussion/debate using facts and not just make well-thought, empty statements at one another. C’mon…for real, let’s chat about this. Who knows, maybe we will learn something from each other. Consider this an open invitation.
You’re also wrong as usual about everything else.
Vvixen,
Specifically, what? The woman on the video said that what pro-lifers were trying to do with defunding PP was “an attack on the middle class.” I’m part of the middle class and it’s not an attack on me. I have health insurance and I have a great doctor and I have dental and I’m able to afford it through insurance. I have no need or use for PP. PP doesn’t do Mamograms, and I can get that any number of places. They don’t have a track record of helping women through pregnancy, but again, I know places I can go for pre-natal help. My doc does pap smears and breast exams, so I don’t need PP for that, either. My husband has a doc he likes who he can go to for physicals. I have doc for my offpsring, so I don’t need PP for that, either. So, we have absolutely no use whatsoever for PP. In fact the majority of people I know don’t need PP. They find ways of finding affordable healthcare without the help of PP (and they aren’t wealthy people either).
Most middle class families either can get health care or have it through their jobs. I didn’t grow up with a ton of money and I don’t have it now, but I’ve always had some form of healthcare insurance.
Granted, not everyone does, but sometimes people don’t get health insurance on purpose (not because they couldn’t find affordable health insurance, but because they just don’t bother with it).
So, I said that the woman and man don’t speak for every middle class-er since they were wrong about me.
The other thing is, PP DOES do thousands of abortions on a daily basis. And other people have stepped forward with research (including doctors and nurses who stopped doing abortions and Abby Johnson who was a director for a PP location for several years–several meaning 3 or more).
So what were you talking about specifically?
Over 50,000,000 children killed, 5,000,000 of them by Planned “Parenthood”.
Wow. PP is getting desperate!!
Loving it.
Its NOT an attack on the poor to DEFUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD! The poor can get pap smears, std testing, bc cheaper at County Health Centers. Free pregnancy tests at Pregancy Resource Centers.
RooForLife
I believe the economically disadvantaged should have access to quality health care. If money (taxpayer) is taken from planned parenthood it needs to be invested in alternatives that reflect a real degree of equality for economically disadvantage women.
Apologies in advance for the crassness, but it seems to fit their brazen attitude.
“YOU KNOCK ‘EM UP, WE’LL KILL THE KID!”
Mod, feel free to delete if it crosses the line of appropriateness
Um Roos, PP exists because the government’s public health system doesn’t subsidize preventive health care in a systematic way. My county health department, for one, doesn’t DO cancer screenings. They don’t have the technical capacity. And no, I don’t want to go to a religiously-affiliated organization to get a pregnancy test. Sorry bro.
You just had to squeeze that in there, didn’t you, Ed? Very classy. It’s quite amazing how the PP bogeyman allows middle class moralists the opportunity to project their twisted fantasies.
It crosses the line of appropriateness for Megan apparently.
@ Megan, I don’t think if PP isn’t around that you are required to go to a ‘religiously-affiliated’ organization for a pregnancy test. You know, you could do something radical like pay for your own. Same thing with the cancer screening. Why depend on other people for your health care?
Lol! Pro-choicers can’t go one single thread without mentioning religion!
Abortion good!
Church bad!
But I’ll give Megan props for this: She thinks we’re middle class. CC thinks we’re merely “declasse!”
I wish Megan would stop coming here and shoving religion down my throat!!
:)
Hey Megan,
Sorry, no such fantasies here. Battling the flu today which gave me a perfect opportunity to watch a missionary from Uganda talk about his awesome encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. (Highly recommended to my brothers and sisters out there.)
You know Megan, I admitted my post above is crass but isn’t that the message PP is sending? Sex is cool in high school, college, whatever…just be careful… It’s so casual, matter of fact.
What if God made the covenant of marriage to be really special, something that was emblematic of the relationship between Christ and His church? And what if sex was God’s awesome wedding present to married couples?
I don’t know you Megan and if you’re uncomfortable answering personal questions I understand. But I was wondering if you’d found your knight in shining armor yet?
And that’s not really the point. The point is that if you pictured the perfect guy, the perfect guy for you, tall, dark, handsome, strong, romantic, whatever, you fill in the blank, even if he was perfect, your relationship with him, though great, would pale in comparison to the relationship you can have with Jesus.
I just want you to know that Jesus Christ is real, and that he loves you, and He is the best Friend you could ever have, even better than Prince Charming.
I wish I could introduce Him to you.
Ed,
It’s not a bad thing to have a pragmatic view of sex. PP espouses a message of responsibility: if you’re going to have sex, better plan for it. Get tested. Get protected. Think ahead. Sex should be intentional. By the way, the average age of virginity loss in the United States is 17. Not 13. 17. The majority of women who access PP’s services are older adolescents and young adults, not children as some hysteria mongers would have you believe.
Hey Megan,
You’re a smart gal and we could debate back and forth but frankly, I’m kind of tired right now:)
You have yourself a great night!
I will come back and take you on another day.
Joe
Have you tried alka-seltzer plus cold flu. I think I wrote that right. Anyway I heard it really works. What works better is the flu shot. Hope you feel better soon. And of course you know chicken soup really works too. Google bow tie chicken soup and make you some it’s really good and good for you.
Megan,
What health care does Planned Barrenhood offer to pregnant women?
Pregnant women don’t have much of a need for the great majority of the ”services” Planned Parenthood offers. Just about all of Planned Barrenhood’s services are related to the sterilization of women and they can also be hired to terminate poor women’s children. Planned Parenthood also makes their living as a child predator by targeting their sterilization on unemancipated minors without notification of the minors legal guardian. It is surreal that they get away with it.
And Obama has always been deep in bed with Planned Parenthood. Did you know that the day after he was annointed, I mean inaugurated as president, the FIRST piece of legislation Obama signed as president was the repeal of the Mexico City policy which up till then had prohibited our tax dollars from being used to fund the termination of children and the sterilization of women on a worldwide scale. There is no shortage of things I dislike about Obama’s being elected president. His far-left big-government agenda and the destruction of the US economy for examples. But by far the biggest tragedy of his presidency is the damage he has done to the pro-life cause. And though I knew about him cause he was a local politian in Illinois while I lived there, he was able to pass himself off as a moderate to a lot of people last election. While I was aware that he stood in opposition to the born-alive infant protection act. And now we see what Kermit Gosnell has done. I wish somebody would ask Obama about that at a debate. And I knew he and Michelle Obama held fundraisers to keep partial birth abortion legal. With the election of Obama the Democrats have not only driven me away from their party but they make me want to see them made politically impotent. Could planned Parenthood help me out with that? They do offer impotence treatments don’t they. lol
That bus should be blood red.
@ Ed! OMGoodness! You watched that message, too? When I read your post I was like, “He couldn’t be talking about the same IHOP message I watched, could he?” And then there it was! Hallelujah! That was an intense message. I really had to pray through it. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts. Feel free to email me…
PP espouses a message of responsibility
It is not responsible behavior to pay to kill a child you willingly participated in creating Megan. A responsible man or woman will never have an unplanned pregnancy (excluding rape of course) and they will both be open to life. Responsible adults only make love with other responsible adults and they are both willing to have and raise children together if pregnancy does occur.
PP espouses a message of irresponsibility and death.
Sorry, hot pink was the Planned Parenthood signature color long before the breast cancer “pink ribbon” campaign.
Hot pink will always belong to Barbie. In the 60s and 70s, I had a hot pink bedroom — hot pink shag on the floor along with hot pink curtains, bedspread, and pillows that went along with the Barbie theme and the room filled with pink and hot pink Barbie accessories. All 28 of my Barbies and her 8 friends were Prolife. Plastic-hair Ken and life-like-haired Ken were also Prolife as well as was their bro GI Joe with the Kung-Fu grip.
Hot pink will always be be my favorite color and I’m sorry Vvixen I cannot allow any kill mill to hijack me and Barbie’s signature color because we had it first!
I wish Megan would stop coming here and shoving religion down my throat!!
Here, Here.
um sexual abuse of children is a moot point? I guess the guy in the video doesn’t care about his daughters that much…I mean really its a moot point, PP should be able to function right, who cares if they let abuse continue…rolling my eyes! REALLY?!?!
