Jivin J’s Life Links 11-1-10

- Planned Parenthood of the Inland Northwest has agreed to pay $345k back to the state of Washington after an audit revealed that Medicaid had overpaid (likely based on overbilling) PP more than half a million dollars over 3 years:The original audit estimated the improper payments at $629,143 over a 3-year period, and PP appealed. The settlement implied no admission of incorrect billing, documentation or payment.
The findings were based on 333 procedures performed from March 2004 to February 2007.
- At First Things, Matthew Schmitz notes that the National Women’s Law Center, a pro-abort group, has posted an ad for a new position to influence the “‘implementation of the new health care law’ in order to advance ‘reproductive rights.'”
- Donald Hertz has been sentenced to 5 years probation for threatening the family of abortionist Warren Hern via telephone.
- The Daily Mail has an article on a 40 Days for Life protest in England. Author Jane Fryer gets a lot wrong but it’s interesting how the Brits apparently think the American pro-life movement is violent and how some individuals in Britain are adopting some tactics used by American pro-life groups.

Wait. They got $629K but only repaid $345K? Are you kidding me? If that happened to anyone else it would be the FULL payment plus interest and penalties. Give me a break!
The sort of action many anti-choice groups practice would quite likely draw an ASBO if carried out in the UK.
I don’t know if I’d want that blood money….but Planned Parenthood should have to pay back EVERY CENT they overcharged with interest AND penalties. They are not exempt.
“UPDATE: I spoke to him by phone, and he seems to be a very old man with some dementia. This is likely the reason he didn’t get prison time.”
So basically you’re admitting to threatening him?
Nick,
Your website is, to put it mildly, a little scary. You said, “All right-to-lifers are bloody-handed accessories. Swear it, proclaim it, and act on it.” Then you posted Hertz’s contact information (though I, too, wish that he had gotten prison time, I don’t intend to call him and threaten him- why on Earth did you call him?).
And you seem borderline obsessed with Jill and violence. This is the second comment that I’ve read in two days that involves threatening her or discussing an assassination. I don’t even read that many of the comments here, but I see your name a lot. Okay, fine- you’re pro-choice. Stop spending your time hating pro-lifers and do something positive, then. If you’re pro-choice, then go volunteer instead of writing people’s contact information on your blog.
Nick is not prochoice.
He is proabortion.
He spends his time and energy inciting violence against prolifers.
Hello, Carla.
How was your Halloween? Did the kiddos go a-hunting for candy around the neighborhood? :)
I’m not even sure how to react to that, Nick. I really couldn’t begin to come up with a suitable rebuttal and hope to get off of this computer before 9:00. But I will say this: Please try being a less hostile person. The world doesn’t need your level of hostility. It doesn’t need anyone to be so ignorant or potentially harmful, no matter what you’re advocating.
Don’t bother with Nick, Vannah.
You will have to read Fourby40 to see why my children no longer want to go trick or treating. :O
Very sad indeed. :(
I’ve missed my sister’s trick or treating (is that hyphenated? I’m too lazy to look…) all her life thus far. Maybe next year I can make her costume. I’m hoping that I get pictures at least. *pouts*
But I suspect that she had a good time anyway, and I’m glad for her. She’s a bundle of energy! I have to wait until Thursday to see what she was. I’m feeling a little depressed because she can say my name- I’m no longer Bannah. I’m now Vannah. *more pouting*
What OC is doing ain’t right, but the more OC runs his mouth, the more he shows the prescense of extremism on the pro-choice side and gives Jill evidence for the FBI investigation into him.
Nick,
I donate my time to a crisis pregnancy center so more women will choose life and fewer women would commit abortion. Is that a good thing?
Nick said:
“It should be just as dangerous to be a right-to-lifer as it is to provide abortions.”
Nick, killing people is dangerous thing to do wether it is legal or not. Killing people breeds hostility and vengence. Nobody I know likes to kill people for “not killing other people”. So your statement I quoted above is nonsense.
